If by most you mean all, then sure.

That is just disgusting. In other news... I really, really hate cutlines on old foils. It truly ruins them.

so before the final round playing for packs at my LGS, my opponent disappears to get pizza, comes back 15 minutes into the round. I stomp him game 1, we're getting close to time, and, with a lethal nexus attack possible, he taps his only red source to animate his nexus and can't use wolf run. Then he concedes, mad that I called him out on it.This was the least satisfying victory I've ever gotten. I was pushing the TO to give him a game loss for disappearing for so long, but he shrugged it off. I just wanted to share my annoyance.

First off, this sounds like an FNM. How many packs were on the line? I hate rules lawyers, as it's often "good" players trying to force you to make a play you obviously weren't intending on doing. Like back in TS draft, I block and then unmorph a 2/3 (that would have eaten his 2/2 jump guy) and the opponent tries to get the judge to say I unmorphed before blocking. Or in a RGD two-head, my team-mate aims at the wrong signet after I told him to blow up the one that would have put one player off his colors. I tell him, no wait, you want to blow up THAT one. The opponents (who clearly knew the correct play was to blow up the one I said to blow up, and had put the signet in the yard as quickly as possible, clearly was trying to hustle us) tried to get the judge to force the wrong play. He spent 15 minutes arguing with me and the judge. In the TS game, the guy got the judge to agree, in the RGD game, the judge agreed with me. I won both games. One of opponents in the RGD match had a huge temper tantrum over this (you know, a "casual" tournament with terrible prize support), got me banned on the local mtg website and told everybody I was a cheater. I told the TS guy, after I beat him, something to the extent that "sorry your attempt at forcing me to make bad plays didn't win you the game." Here, I dunno. People don't expect rules lawyering in FNM games. How far did he get before he realized he had tapped his only red source? (But then again he should have been given a loss for failing to appear. I hate people who waste my time and then later on run down the clock or something.)

When the heck did someone not being careful enough to tap the correct mana and calling them out on it become "rules lawyering". If you mess up on something like that you deserve to lose.I thought rules lawyering was argueing the wording on the interaction between Abundance and Sylvan Library. I didn't know it applied to the most basic rules of the game...

These posts above are why i keep to local magic, I don't like the drama that comes with people who treat magic like a job.Sure I have my moments of being grumpy but at the same time if i say anything dumb I would apologize after. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

So you admit that your team mate made an incorrect play and you wanted to take something back to correct an action. You realize that because you knew the right play and a wrong one got made, it doesn't mean you can change the wrong play into the correct one? If you make a play or an action you stick with it. Trying to argue otherwise is trying to cheat.

Depends, I believe in the rules of 2HG that the dominate head always makes the final decision. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

In a casual tournament? Yeah no. That sort of attitude kills FNM attendance. And he was going for the wrong card, had not actually gotten there. He had not actually declared anything either. If you want to be strict in a high level tournament, be my guest.

I didn't recall this rule, but hey, I was also the dominant head.

I still love how people can't find their emails for deals they made.I use gmail and all I do is have 2 different tags 1 for MOTL and one MOTL Complete. That way it keeps me knowing which trades are still open and which are closed. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)
