I actually really enjoyed the ravnica block novels (ravnica and guildpact *much* more so than dissension, which was just meh). They were a great entertaining romp with an engaging world (something never accomplished with the mirrodin or lorwyn ones, which would occasionally scratch at the surface of something actually interesting before deciding against it) with some simply awesome setpieces. The battle aboard the centipede caravan in Guildpact in particular is just plain fun. The worst offenders that I've read are mirrodin, which read like a Michael bay script (all action scenes all the time, disregarding plot development, character development, pacing, and basic sanity), and time spiral, which was basically a trilogy where the plot consisted of systematically killing off every remaining character in magic's storyline. Karn, leshrac, jeska, freyalise, windgrace, teferi, multani... The list goes on. Every plot point was "find this planeswalker, argue with them for awhile, they finally agree to help and die in the process. Rinse, repeat."

Well yeah, I read Dissention only out of the RGD novels. Mirrodin was stupid. In a real world, you're not going to refer to random animated artifacts as "that artifact creature" every single line.

So EDH deck with all of those overpowered color hosers plus "change the text of target permanent" type cards. Like Gloom and Karma. Wouldn't that be hilarious for at least one game?

random question.. what are some uses for token cards?I only use a select few when I play. and they tend to build up pretty quick (almost 1 per pack) so I have a lot sitting around.. any other non magic arts/crafts type uses? 3d cards? etc I ask because i am either going to try and use them myself so they are not just taking space.. or donate them to a craftier person then myself who can put them to use. so ideas?

If you want to cast Volcanic Eruption, you have to target mountains b/c you have to announce the target of the spell. If you want to play Magical Hack to change the text "Mountain" to "Forest" or whichever you want, the spell probably would fizzle. The card would want to destroy Forests, but the OG spell targeted Mountains. Armageddon isn't broken. Wake of Destruction is legal and is a hoser, it's also not broken.

He's moving to his new apartment (and decorating), so he's not regularly online. If it's something important I can phone him. btw, it's Filip, not Philip.

Yeah fine volcanic eruption isn't a good one. It's still hilariously out of color.

It's a LD spell in blue, that's kinda off-color. But it is a red-hoser for Blue and that's on-color. I think a color-hoser deck would be a cool idea. My friend uses Glamerdye in his Animar deck and it deals loads of general damage really quickly. I'm sure it wouldn't be a thing to include some hosers to take advantage of that card.

It's LD and direct damage in blue to both creatures and players. It's about as un-blue as you can get. But then again all the old hosers were like that.

Too many bears. Between the bears and the Russians attacking, it's a dangerous country to send the mailmen into.

If it's a token for a commonly occurring token-creature (goblin) then you can probably trade/sell them really easily. Other than that it's just about collecting your favorite ones. When we were kids my brother made a really cool airplane out of index cards, toothpicks and glue...

I'd have given you $4.25 NOT to open a Avacyn Restored pack. Next time you feel like lighting money on fire...put $4 into the powerball lotto.

WoW, where do you shop that has packs at 4.25? Most expensive around here is like 3.30 or so maybe 3.50 tops unless OOP packs, and even then sometimes can get them at MSRP. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"
