so i was trying to buy some cards on motl from "legitmtg".after posting in his sales thread, i recieve an email telling me to go to his webstore, create an account and buy the card. wth. is this legal under motl rules? woulnt TnT just list all cards ever created, then just send links to their store whenever people want to buy? If legal, then its just annoying as hell, i dont want to register at random sites to buy cards on motl.

Wow totally pathetic! Seems incredibly lazy. Also I don't think you can link outside sources when listing cards. Same reason you can't link Ebay.quote: Originally posted by MagixDK: so i was trying to buy some cards on motl from "legitmtg".after posting in his sales thread, i recieve an email telling me to go to his webstore, create an account and buy the card. wth. is this legal under motl rules? woulnt TnT just list all cards ever created, then just send links to their store whenever people want to buy? Probably isn't kosher. You can't post links just to ebay, but since he's moved to email he's probably safe. Just say no and move on. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 2nd in posts in Canada 10th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

I think it's legal under the rules, but just kinda crappy. I know that some people were using those tactics to avoid having to use MOTL's rules when buying.

While that may technically not be against the rules right now, I'll see about changing that. Definitely abusing the system. I'm fine with stores that want to participate as MOTL members, but that seems like they're just using us for free advertising. I really wish I could change someone's MOTL name right now, since theirs is just a big lie. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. What's up with everyone offering 5.00 in trade for the new RTR Shocklands?

All-commons cube is amazing. It's like the old draft formats that I really liked (Onslaught through Future Sight). It's all about small, incremental bonuses and huge haymakers are extremely rare and expensive.Even better, I made an all-commons tribal cube. It's like amazingness squared.

honestly, this is probably where they settle, save maybe one or two that are in the best decks in standard that go for 8.00
...consider that probably half a million of each of these will be added to the card pool

Half a million is a modest estimate since there were 289 000 of each of revised rares printed back in the old days. With rarity nowadays changed, and with sets having a much larger print runs (and not just one...) + MTGO redemption I'd say that number should be far greater. It's still early however, set hasn't been even officially released yet.

everyone should be willing to pay current market value to get the cards early. prices might settle lower, but by then, someone will have won plenty of tournaments with his playset(s) of shocks, while others offering 5.00 is going to be playing with a subpar deck.

So just heard of a store ordering a large amount of RtR, paid for it, and then got told by the distributor, Sorry we can't ship, your SOL.This of course put them so far behind on Pre-Orders, that the store seems to have gone immediately from doing good to out of business. This to me just all seems wrong, why the hell would a product be so short printed (Assuming this is the case, and it's not the distributor simply trying to charge more by canceling orders and then marking the product up and relisting) that stores literally go under due to not being able to make orders of the product.
To those saying the store was probably already going, seems unlikely, they held a 50+ person FNM often, ran drafts, sealed, etc daily, Online Singles, etc even stated that if not for this one event, they would have been fine. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. Jax Cards Business Model was inherently flawed in that they operated on extremely thin margins and therefore were not able to build a cash reserve to deal with set backs. Furthermore, I hear that the main judge/partner in the business left. Anyway, I find the story about the distributor to be hard to believe. I feel like there is a lot not being said. Distributors cannot just screw over stores like that and stay in business.

Im sorry, but if 1 mishap like that puts your store under, you are certainly NOT doing fine.__________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? Well not sure a store can let this happen. I had a discussion w/ my local store owner about allocation and canceled orders and he let me know he has prepaid for a ton of product. He also said there is no way in hell they'll cancel or allocate his order w/o some bad things coming their way. If they take the money for product then they are going to ship that product.

It really depends on who you are, if you pre-ordered 60 cases and there's a shortage, you are getting at least part of your order. If you ordered 2 and there's a shortage then you are getting nothing

Welcome to the sh*tty world of comic book and MTG distributors. Pre-order in cash 2 month+ in advance and then get 1/10 of what you order.

from what I gather, right now it's up in the air on if they stay open or not. Seems shorty story was, they ordered ~5-9k worth of RtR, had a % of it Pre-sold to customers, then got told my the Distributor that they were not getting any cases, zip, nada, zero. This of course would put them a very large chunk in the hole.... from there, I'm not 100% sure on what else is going on... __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"
