Shuffle the cards from your graveyard and hand into your library. Reveal the top ten cards of your library, put all permanents revealed into play. Then put the remaining cards into your hand.

DESCRIPTION: A true black sorcery should not only be over costed through mana, but it should make your entire existence feel the repercussion of playing a spell of such power.

The black sorcery is supposed to kill creatures.

Jaz, I'm assuming his name means he's into the "Blackmage" job of the Final Fantasy series. I thought about it and I'll stand by it doesn't have to relate mana colors to the color of the mage. In the original FF there was a spell that's known as "Flare" or "Nuke" depending on the translation, which is what I modeled.

Again, preferably... I'd like to stick with my entry unless B14ckM4g3 says otherwise. I think cards can knock you in your feet without wiping the board.

Ok thanks, I'll have to resubmit.

I'd recommend updating the original prompt to be a little more explicit as to what you want.

I took the whole "make people fall down" as a "knock you off your feet" kind of thing. I didn't think you meant literally knock things down.

So I did a poor job explaining the blackmage.
Blackmage has been a character in the Final Fantasy series, that is a master of all black magic. He casts spells the consistently destroy his opposition. In many spoof comics (which when I made this account I was really big into) he had poor control over his power (which was outrageous). And that's what I'm basing it off of. So To further clarify for everyone:

I would prefer a black spell (can be multicolored) that removes creatures (can do other things) that is really crappy (too much mana for too little of an effect) that nobody would ever want to play.
Alternatively, you can base the spell off of any spell 'Blackmage' could cast and it would still qualify as it would be a spell blackmage would use (see chargingrhinos post about 'nuke').
I really hope that clarifies everything.

This above made me resubmit my 3rd card. I won't be quoting it as it messes up the post, so I just copy/pasted it.

RESUBMIT MY ENTRY

Hi, thanks for doing this again, I always enjoy these!

I want a creature enchantment. That's right - AURA! CMC of either 2 or 3, any color(s) of your choice, but only in the COMMON OR UNCOMMON SLOT! Watch your power level!!!

1.
Niv-Mizzet's Charm
Uncommon - 1UR
Enchantment - Aura

Enchanted creature has flying and haste.
Whenever enchanted creature deals combate damage to a player, if you played an instant this turn, draw a card, then discard a card.
Whenever you play a sorcery, enchanted creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.

Definately not overpowered, at best a turn 3 2/2 flyer that gets benefits on turn 4 normally. A bit of a mixture between Curiosity and Firebreating.

quote:
Card 2:

How about something fun? I want a new unhinged card. Any color, any cost (BUT NOT MULTICOLORED). Make it a RARE card! (Flavor text for this one = bonus points)

2.
I dislike Unhinged. And Unglued. But here goes, Flavor text wise I could think of only one thing that's popular at the moment.

Hill Billy, Life Saver
Rare - 1B
Legendary creature - Human Savior

You can only play Hill Billy, Life Saver if you are eating fastfood.
Whenever you here a sirene, sacrifice Hill Billy, Life Saver.
Tap: Remove target Aura that is enchanting a creature from the game. Then return that creature to its owners' hand.
Whenever Hill Billy, Life Saver blocks a white creature, prevent all combat damage that would be dealt this turn.
Listen to or do the salsa: Prevent all damage that would be dealt to Hill Billy, Life Saver by black or red sources this turn.

1/1

"Why not enjoy the good life when you save lives." Hill Billy quote

For the perceptive ones amongst us, yes, this is Charles Ramsey on a Magic card. Or at least, I tried. America's latest national hero deserves a card I thought.
First off, the casting cost is 1B, but mainly because he's black (that's not a racist thing..).
The fastfood reference is obvious, with his quotes of McDonalds and eating ribs.
The sirene thing refers to him being startled by the police sirene, a funny effect IMO.
His tap ability is useful in case of Arrest/Pacifism effects, referring to the shackles/chains that the women were held captive with.
The blocking/protection thing is a referral to his quote about a white girl jumping into a black man's arms.
And the protection from red/black comes from him hanging out with the bad guys (the bad guys are designated red/black by me)

The flavor text was hard. I wanted to use an actual quote but thought that wasn't original, so I used his references to McDonalds as an inspiration.

quote:
Card 3:

You're a blackmage, you cast the spells that make the people fall down. Don't get it? SORCERY! Gimme a new one. Something that makes the people fall down. Make it crappy and overcosted. We're talking explosive impact here.

3.
Open the Void
Rare - 5BBB
Sorcery

Destroy up to 4 target creatures. Then, each opponent chooses up to 4 target creatures. Destroy those creatures.
At the end of the turn, you lose the game.

"It's all over but for the crying"

It could potentially win you the game IF you have enough creatures left. Would be fun in multiplayer.
Or have a Time Stop ready.

Well, I hope it's enough for round 2, again thanks for doing this!
Cheers,

Even though Ive already submitted I had a thought for a fun unhinged card.

Pick a card, any card
3U
Rare

Reveal a card at random from your hand shuffle that card into your libary.
Draw 5 cards. If you draw the revealed card, you win the game. If you fail to reveal the card you lose the game.

With this clarification, I'll be resubmitting my third card.

Card #3:
Unholy Sacrifice

sacrifice X creatures.
All creatures get -X/-X until end of turn.

(Do both if WU was spent)

I took the hybrid spells that let you do both things if you pay both colors (like Dawnglow Infusion) and mixed it with the cycle of cards from RAV and GPT (like Revenant Patriarch).

Card 2:
The Unwashed Masses
2BB (R)
Creature-Human Hippie
Protection from soap and from water.
Whenever The Unwashed Masses blocks or becomes
blocked by a red or white creature, The Unwashed
Masses gets -5/-5 until end of turn.
"We have to back to Boulder?!?!? But those hippies smell awful!"
-Nebraska football

6/6

Used the Nebraska/CU football "rivalry" for inspiration. The -5/-5 is in reference to Nebraska's 5 national titles. I made it 6/6 because its P/T of 1/1 after it shrinks is in reference to CU's 1 national championship. The name and flavor text are just knocks against Boulder.

Masquerade
U/W B/R G Uncommon
Enchantment-Aura
Enchanted creature has phasing, lifelink, deathtouch, and first strike.

During your upkeep put a +1/+1 counter on enchanted creature.

And, after all, what is a lie? 'Tis but the truth in a masquerade.

---
Phasing really brings down the power level of this card. I really wanted to make something that was strong but with the draw back of phasing.
---

Nice Fish Sandwich Dracula...
3 Rare
Artifact

All players play with a confused look on their face. If any player refuses or stops looking confused sacrifice Nice Fish Sandwich Dracula... and that player loses 5 life.

What...

---
Late night gaming and Steak n Shake make people say some weird stuff.
---

Decimation
6BBBBBB- Mythic
Sorcery
Exile all creatures from all players hand, library, graveyard and battlefield. Each player shuffles their graveyard into their library.

Coasterdude:
Card 1:
Demonic Emergence
1B - Common
Enchantment - Aura

Enchant Creature

Enchanted creature gets +3/+3 and has flying.

Whenever enchanted creature deals damage, its controller loses 3 life.

With great power comes reckless abandon.
---
I wanted to make something that would be the black antithesis to Armadillo Cloak; an Unholy Strength that's out of control.

Card 2:
Cabal Therapist
B - Rare
Creature - Human Cleric

Whenever an opponent would draw a card, they reveal it and put it into your hand instead. If they do, put a card from your hand into that opponent's hand.

"And how does that make you feel?"

1/1
---
I had a little trouble with the wording on this one, but I think this works like I want. Think of the therapist as replacing ideas in your head with different ones.
Originally, this was going to be a Phyrexian Shrink, but I happen to have a Cabal Therapy on my desk, and who better to administer Cabal therapy than a Cabal therapist?

Card 3:
Exterminate
5BBB - Rare
Sorcery

Exile all creatures you don't control. Search their controllers' graveyards, hands, and libraries for all cards with the same names as those creatures and exile them. Then those players shuffle their libraries.
---
When Eradicate just doesn't do enough. I purposely left flavor text off of this one for the same reasons they leave it off Wrath of God: it seems more powerful and momentous that way.

fluffycow:
Card 1:
Mindless Assault
UB (Uncommon)
Enchantment – Aura
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature gets +3/+1

Sacrifice enchanted creature: attach ~ to target creature

I think this would be very good in draft, the ability to make your opponent really scratch his head during combat is a lot of fun.

Card 2:
Magical Personal Trainer
2GG (rare)
Creature – Human Wizard

If your opponent has a carbonated beverage or any food with chocolate, you may cast ~ without paying its mana cost. If you do, ~ gains split-second.

At end of turn, if you have a carbonated beverage or any food with chocolate, return ~ to its owner’s hand.

Haste

Tap: Double target creature’s power and half its defense (round up, this effect does not end at end of turn)

“Hup, two, three, four,
You’re gonna have that fat butt no more.”
-The Deadly Insect’s workout plan

Card 3:
Void Storm
4BBB (mythic)
Sorcery

Choose one – target player exiles a card from his or her hand, exile target creature or exile target land.

Storm

Flashback – BBBBBB

Big, black and terrible.

ryan2754

Furied Growth
1RG - U
Enchantment - Aura

Enchanted Creature gets +2/+1, trample, and can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.

-------
Fits the color pie. Elegant. Similar to other 3CMC auras in power level.

2. Old MacDonald
4GW - R
Legendary Creature - Human Farmer

All other creatures you control get +4/+4.

If a red, blue, or black creature or spell would deal damage to other creatures you control, prevent it.

If a red, blue, or black creature would deal damage to Old MacDonald, destroy Old MacDonald and all other creatures you control.

Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E....Old MacDonald's farm is gone, E I E I O

2/2
--------
Adding P/T is Green and Whites forte. Fire would blaze the farm, water would drown it, and black would plague it. He protects his farm, but he dies, everything else dies.

3. Soulless Fortune
XXBBBB - R
As an additional cost to ~, pay X life.
Destroy X target permanants.

The sorcerer may have sold his soul, but he took multiple others with him.

Daner:

1. Wings of Esper

UBW - Uncommon

Enchantment - Aura

Target creature gets flying and fear. When target creature deal combat damage you may choose one. Target player discards a card, target player draws a card the discards a card, or target playes gains life equal to the number of permanents of the chosen color of that players choice he/she controls.

"~Wings of hope, prosperity or despair...you decide."

I really like Esper, and while I wish I could have made this a rare constructed quality card I think it fits the power level of Uncommon. Also, it makes you think about your decision...which fits the Esper theme.

2. The DCI Strike Again!

1WW - Rare

Sorcery

Name a card, that card cannot be played. If a player draws it you must play with it revealed to your opponent. If you choose a land that land can be played, but only can produce colorless mana.(ex: If you choose Island they only produce 1 colorless, effects that detroy Islands are still in effect. They cannot however produce more than a single mana.)

"~Islands are broken....time to ban them."

Islands are broken.....nuff said

3. Revelation

6BBBB - Mythic

Sorcery

Remove each creature from the game and remove each graveyeard from the game. Put a 2/2 Black Zombie token into play for each creature removed this way from play and all graveyards.

"~When there is no more room left in Hell....the dead will walk the Earth."

Legendmagic:

Forged Robe
UU - Uncommon

Enchantment - Aura

Target creature gets +1/+1, hexproof and is a wizard in addition to any other creature types

" A forged wizards robe is made of the best materials in all the realms."

i really like mono blue and with all the elves,goblins and other creature types getting a push lets bring back wizards

2. Weeping Goblin Child

R - Rare

Creature - goblin

Double strike

At start of your precombat phase flip a coin, if its heads
weeping goblin child may attack this turn. If its tails exile weeping goblin child, return it at the end of your turn

"The goblin young are are deadly and weak at the same time. never under estimate them. (Eladamri) ."

2/1

i really like crazy goblins and unhinged can be just that

3. Griselbrand's Champions

7BBB - Mythic

Sorcery

Target opponent sacifices 3 creatures. You put three 3/3 lifelink demon tokens with haste,flying onto the battlefield. These tokens have the abilitie. everytime you lose life, half that life loss this turn ( this number rounds up) sacifice these tokens at end of turn

" my best demons of all evil marched forward, the fight was coming close (griselbrand) "

Junichi:

Unexpected Adrenaline
1G (unc)
Enchantment-Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature gets +2/+2
When Unexpected Adrenaline enters the battlefield, add GG to your mana pool.

Expect the unexpected

2.) Grammar Nazi
1U (rare)
Creature - Donkey Wizard
Whenever your opponent makes a grammatical error, you may draw a card.

Grammar, not grammer!
0/1

3.) Bloodbath
7BB (rare)
Sorcery
Destroy all creatures. Each opponent loses life equal to the total power of all creatures destroyed this way.

Death is just the beginning.

KGthelegend:
Faceless Inversion
1B - Common
Tribal Enchantment - Shapeshifter Aura

Changeling(This card is every creature type at all times.)
Enchant Creature
Enchanted Creature +3/-3 and loses all creature types.
3BB: Return Faceless Inversion to its owner's hand.

Plain and simple I love Nameless Inversion and think it would be awesome as an enchantment with the ability to be returned to its owner's hand ala Agoraphobia.
~~~~~~~~~
PewPew...Tacos?
4R - Rare
Sorcery
PewPew...Tacos? deals 5 damage to target player.
Archangels blessing:
Simple card. Not too powerful. I like that you added the hybrid abilities. You gotta stick to the same name though (bant battlewings)
6/10
Unwashed Masses:
I laughed pretty hard when it claimed it had protection from soap and water. Must come laminated. I think it's a bit overpowered for unhinged though (as most unhinged cards are relatively terrible). I kinda like the reference to a local football team rivalry, but feel the flavor text is a bit weak.
6.5/10
Unholy Sacrifice:
3x, x equals sacrificed creatures. -1/-1 per creature sacrificed. Seems terrible, creatures gotta die to use it, and it wipes the board. Sounds like something a blackmage would use.
7/10
19.5/30
---
Coasterdude:
Demonic Resurgence:
Seems fairly costed. I like the double-edgeness of this card. I like that you worded it as 'deals damage' which can be a huge drawback (attacking, blocking, combat tricks, etc). Good job.
7/10
Cabal Therapist:
Gimmicky idea, but possible. I think the wording you wanted was 'exile that card. you may put a card from your hand into your opponents hand. if you do, you put the exiled card into your hand' which gives you the option to use the ability and you cannot give them the original card they drew. I like the flavor text.
7.5/10
Exterminate:
Honestly I think this is more powerful than you intended. G/B ramp could easily mess your entire deck up and probably get a concession as a result of it. 8 mana isn't that much for such a preposterously good effect and gives your opponent time to build an army. Also, it kinda makes the peoples go 'poof', not quite fall down.
I agree that no flavor text adds impact.
5/10
19.5/30
---
Fluffycow:
Mindless assault: I think this might be a bit too powerful. +2/+1 for two mana seems much more fitting. the sacrifice a creature to move the enchantment ability is actually really powerful. That should probably also cost a hybrid u/b mana to activate. I like the card, but I think it's too powerful for uncommon slot in it's current form.
6/10
Magic Personal Trainer:
I chuckled reading over this one. I think it's a pretty good job for an unhinged card. However I think that if you owned a sugary snack that it should be sacrificed. Overall though, great job.
8.5/10
Void Storm:
Yes, it is big black and terrible. Storm probably isn't going to do much, neither is flashback. However the exile a card/land isn't quite what I was looking for. I would of also preferred if they were 'destroyed, and cannot be regenerated' instead.
6/10
20.5/30
---
ryan2754
Furied Growth: Simple Enchantment I could of seen printed just recently. I think it's balanced for the cost. A comparison against madcap skills and unflinching courage made an assist for you here, and I think this was very well done.
8/10
Old Macdonald:
I would of preferred if you re-posted old macdonald. Searching through topics to see if you fixed it was slightly annoying. But now as a mono-white creature, his abilities don't make as much sense. What about Green creatures? Why is it that spells/creature damage is prevented to everyone, but only r/b/u creatures deal damage to old macdonald destroy him. Shouldn't spells of those colors also destroy him? I think if you went over this again you could of made a much better card.
4.5/10 (+1 point for flavor text)
Soulless fortune:
4 black to start - alright.
XX for ability - good
X is life - punishing but playable
Destroy permanents? What did that mountain ever do to you? Why is black destroying enchantments/artifacts? Not quite fitting perfectly. This should of been creatures/planeswalkers.
6/10
18.5/30
---
Daner
Wings of Esper:
Flying and Fear work for U/B, but fear doesn't quite fit white. Intimidate would of been a better choice. Additionally, it should read (combat damage to a player) instead of just combat damage. Another note: I don't like that a player gains life equal to permanents of a color. I don't feel like that fits properly (simply 3 life would of been better). Not bad, but could of been better.
5/10
The DCI strikes again!:
Again, I think the wording on this hurts. It should of also been an enchantment. 'players reveal cards when they draw them. if the draw the named card, they must keep it revealed at all times'. And how would this work with dual lands? Would the swamp half of underground sea still produce black, as it is a swamp and an island? I like where you were going with this, but feel it could of been worded much better.
5.5/10
Revelation:
Not quite what I was looking for. Exiling creatures is more like 'poof' then 'dead'. And gaining zombies as a result isn't quite blackmage-ish.
4/10
14.5/30
---
Legendmagic
Forged Robe: Simple and effective. I really like that it also makes the creature a wizard. Not too powerful, usable, simple. Good job.
8/10
Weeping Goblin Child:
one red for a 2/1 double strike? Thats OP. If the coin flip ended badly with the goblin being sacrificed it would of been much better. I also find the flavor text too serious.
5.5/10
Griselbrand's Champions:
10 mana, but this is powerful as all hell. 3 demons that half life loss each is ridiculous. 'Attack with a 10/10. No blocks. Take 2 damage.' Also, this is more about destroying creatures than making creatures.
5/10
18.5/30
---
Junichi
Unexpected Adrenaline: Good card. The only thing I would of changed is casting cost to GG instead of 1G. This would be for the 'adding GG to your mana pool' effect. Alternatively, untapping two forests would of been fitting.
7/10
Grammar Nazi:
Nice. I enjoy it. My favorite part is that it is a donkey wizard. Not going to find many of those.
8.5/10
Bloodbath:
Very fitting, although I would of changed it to 'one life for each creature destroyed this way'. The total combined powers against each opponent makes this almost an auto-win in edh.
7/10
24.5/30
---
KGthelegend:
Faceless Inversion:
I like that you took the removal approach to this card. However, the return to hand ability will be difficult to utilize. If the creature dies as a result of the enchantment, you won't get an opportunity to bounce it to your hand (state based actions). Phrasing it as 'If this enchantment would be put into the graveyard from the battlefield, you may pay X. If you do, return it to your hand' would of been much better.
7/10
PewPew... Tacos?
Ashnod's coupon! I like the twist added that the player who casts it has to get them. Made me laugh, Good job. Bonus for flavor text fitting very well.
8.5/10
Black out:
This I like. Sacrificing all kinds of non-black stuff. No bonus's. I think the addition of 'non-enchantment' would of fitted nicely here as well, as black doesn't do so well against them.
7/10
24.5/30
---
AetherStorm:
Niv-mizzet's charm:
Seems simple. A little underpowered, but that's okay. I like how it get's tricky with sorceries/instants. Not sure if the 'discard a card' part was necessary due to the trickiness of this card.
7/10 (for not getting OP)
Hill Billy, Life Saver
I have no idea who charles ramsey is, so I had to google him up. I'm not American, nor do I watch TV so this entire escapade escaped me. Um, good job?
7.5/10
Open the void:
Destroying creatures will work. I think losing the game is a bit harsh though. Not sure if I should give extra or less for it (Blackmage does die in FF) (Blackmage doesn't give up after dying). It's expensive and crappy. I'll give you that much.
6/10
20.5/10
---
Coolcat3000:
Infestation of knowledge:
Well I wanted a creature enchantment, but then said I wanted an aura. I'll let you squeak in with this for now. The reason for that is because you went outside of the box. 2 mana for a 2/2 shroud card-draw. Not too OP as it is your land. However, you kinda screwed up the names a bit on this card (stronghold of knowledge). Decent job.
6/10
Kiss ass:
You left some text out here it would seem. I assume it means 'all players sacrifice all creatures or untap all creatures'. I like that we have a new ass walking around, and I really liked your flavor text. I also liked that you incorporated the 1/2 to the power.
7.5/10
Loss of Profit:
Not quite crappy to be honest. Not great either. But simple and quasi-effective.
6/10
19.5/30
---
Link12393232 (too many numbers)
Blessing of the devout:
I find a big flaw with the 15 life - flying. If it becomes unblockable at 10 why does it even have flying? And at 5 life its first strike unblockable lifelink? First strike isn't so relevant anymore. I think that the entire part of '15 life - flying' should not be in this card as it gives the card too much goodness. just 20-first strike 10- unblock 5-lifelink would of been fine.
6/10
Army Drill Sergeant:
No power/toughness? Bad oversight there. As for the ability, I think XX tap would of been better. These are magic players we are talking about here. You think a stern talking to would get physical activity out of them? Nice flavor text though.
5/10
Death of a vampire:
5 mana board wipe. 7 mana board wipe + life loss/gain^2 p/creature? That sir is not crappy or overcosted. That is a bomb rare (think massacre wurm). Like mythic rare.
3/10
14/30
---
iplaneswalk:
Incompetence: Another take on a removal spell, but worded correctly. I think this might actually be a bit too powerful at -0/-4. -0/-3 would of been better. Good job though.
7/10
Wliver:
Probably my favorite unhinged card. I laughed when I read it, enjoy the flavor text, and find it very fitting.
9.5/10
Sacred Bond:
overcosted: Check
Makes the people fall down: Check
Balanced: Check
Crappy: not quite? It can't quite be crappy if it's balanced. What I don't like is the returning to creature's hand part. Black doesn't do that. I think it would of been better without that addition. but this would cause a headache in an 8 man edh game.
6/10
22.5/10
Jazaray
Battlefield Ascension: I like this. Simple and worth drafting. I like how you also described the picture.
7/10
Change Places:
I enjoyed this. I like the random fun factor involved in this card. Great job.
8.5/10
Cabal Consequences:
overcosted and crappy for sure. But why enchantment? Black never destroys enchantments.
6/10
21.5/30
---
ChargingRhinos:
Primal Devolution:
This is a gruul card through and through. I think it could of even been +2/+2 and still been balanced. good job.
7/10
Cute little Girl Scout:
Alright, so I am a south park fan and people here may or may not know the ongoing joke in that show. personally I love this card as it makes me laugh everytime I read it. Not quite my favorite, but a great job.
8.5/10
Nuke:
An actual Final Fantasy Reference! This card is great for taking it outside of the box of everyone else and actually going with a real blackmage spell. Bonus points for using 'nuke' and 'flare' on the same card. Not sure if Red was necessary as the damage is non-elemental. but then I remember ghost fire and see what you did there. Great job, thoroughly enjoyed.
9/10
24.5/30
---
Mcelecra
Ghostly Mantle:
This card is so abusable. I think it's much more powerful than you had intended it to be. the +2/+2 is entirely unneeded. Blinking a creature and keeping the enchantment to blink something else can get really out of hand really fast. As you stated that you're just getting back in, I'll cut you a break. But this card is bonkers powerful. Like foil-foreign-pricetag bonkers.
5/10
Power Creep:
I enjoy the message you're sending. I think the 5/5 body is too much to have on this critter. I also think that flipping a coin should always have a negative and a positive. This has no negative.
6.5/10
Touch of the void:
I kinda get what approach you are taking here, but this isn't quite what I am looking for. I wanted 'spells that make the people fall down', not 'spells that suck my soul out'.
5/10
16.5/30
---
Ectomaniac
Experimental Design:
I don't get it. Is this supposed to be like arrest? Was there suppose to be more to this card? Just feels lacking all over. Why only my creature? Why spend UG1 to gain UB from tapping my guy?
4/10
Feline Indoctrionation:
I like the flavor text, and this card made me chuckle. It should also have the added 'permanents cannot enter the battlefield'.
7.5/10
Demon's Equalization:
Everything? Like Absolutely everything is sacrificed? with split second (on a sorcery???)? Seems a bit much, and not quite what i was looking for. This is more like a 'grand balance' than 'crappy overcosted removal'.
5/10
16.5/30
---
AGO:
masquerade:
I think the +1/+1 counter might be a bit much for all the abilities gained. I understand that in this regard phasing is to work against the creatures controller, but deathtouch and first strike is a powerful combination. Lifelink can help to stabilize those turns in between phasing and the +1+/+1 counter just makes this seem a bit OP. Not a bad job, just too much good stuff for one 'bad' stuff.
6/10
Nice Fish Sandwich Dracula:
... What?
8.5/10
Decimation:
ALL creatures from everywhere? Yea it's overcosted but this is... decimation... I like the flavor text but this seems like too much.
6/10
20.5/30
---
HarbingerOTvoid:
Temptations wings:
Simple card. I like it. Defensive, flying, and a card draw on death. Not OP, balanced cost. Good job.
8/10
Yawgmoth's bargain hunt:
I enjoyed the read and love the mechanic of 'whoa nelly'. But this is multicolored and I specifically asked to not have that.
0/10
Malignant Prosperity:
Again, I don't like the 'total power' life loss. it doesn't seem quite fitting. But this is overcosted, kills creatures. Combination of Disciple of Bolas and Barter in Blood.
I forgot biased judging was a thing.
By the way, cutting people was kinda dumb. What if those people have a 10/10 card in further rounds? They could still edge out the point leaders.
Blessing of the devout:
I find a big flaw with the 15 life - flying. If it becomes unblockable at 10 why does it even have flying? And at 5 life its first strike unblockable lifelink? First strike isn't so relevant anymore. I think that the entire part of '15 life - flying' should not be in this card as it gives the card too much goodness. just 20-first strike 10- unblock 5-lifelink would of been fine.
***** The point is, the card gets better when you are behind. Having flying, unblockable, and first strike may be a little awkward if you are attacking. But, if you're blocking, it matters. Generally when you are at a low life total, you should block, aside from dying. The colors fit a control-oriented deck, and would be great in limited. Maybe you should have thought of other applications other than attacking. *****
Army Drill Sergeant:
No power/toughness? Bad oversight there. As for the ability, I think XX tap would of been better. These are magic players we are talking about here. You think a stern talking to would get physical activity out of them? Nice flavor text though.
5/10
***** This was all in fun, clearly these cards aren't ever going to be printed. Unhinged cards are known for their flavor, not for their playability. He was also a 2/1, my phone must have cut that off, as he was a direct relation to Skirk Drill Sergeant. *****
Death of a vampire:
5 mana board wipe. 7 mana board wipe + life loss/gain^2 p/creature? That sir is not crappy or overcosted. That is a bomb rare (think massacre wurm). Like mythic rare.
3/10
14/30
*****You said you wanted overcosted and crappy, but then you said explosive impact. I miss the days of Damnation, and this is just a more expensive version. It was supposed to be 1 life, not 2, but again, I posted from my phone at work. *****
Y'know, I wrote something up for this that was quite the read. But decided you're not worth it. It's easier to blame the judge and your phone than to take any responsibility for yourself, isn't it?
You kind of completely missed the point of my post.
You are biased, no? You want cards that appeal to YOU, no one else.
And these cuts are just unfair and turn a fun element into something not so fun.
I wasn't blaming my phone for anything either, the outcome would have been the same either way. Excuses are unnecessary.
