I personally will need to ask for a time extension. I just got a phone call yesterday and I'm headed to Japan next week for a couple days of work and I've got loads of prep I have to do now. This is a pretty big task and I've only got my basic framework done so far because I'm a level 20 slacker.

Dreamscape, A plane of Magic: The Gathering.

Dreamscape is a world of Magic that revolves around a soon to be planeswalker who is unconscious. In his torpor, he faces his past as an orphan, his present as his apprentice has betrayed him and his future, facing his captors and becoming one of the few. Dreamscape is meant to evoke a feeling of the uncanny valley. Real but at the same time a little too…perfect? Cute? Strange? Everyone perceives when they are dreaming differently and this is reflected in the look and feel of the block.

Our story begins with set 1, Dreamscape. Xiltid (pronounced sil-teed) is the head of The Magery, a powerful guild in the land of Pritonia. Xiltid comes from a humble past having started life as an orphan at “Mother Madame’s Kitchen for the Plateless”. In his teens, a mage by the name of Nhijil (pronounced NI-hill) adopted him as his apprentice and taught him about The Magery. Xiltid proved adept at magic, helped tremendously by his Spartan upbringing making him a “library rat”, as the council mages called it. In his later years Xiltid proved his prowess and worth defending the realm against all comers. The primary enemy of the humans and gnomes are the Rhox. Both wild and powerful, the rhinoceros looking bipeds are vicious and cruel. Their way is the way of the land and they despise all those who would wall themselves in and drive others out. The Rhox and the “good folk” have been at war for many years and only the powerful dwoemirs (enchantments) The Magery employs keep them at bay.

Nhijil was never the head of the council but was considered one of the most talented mages to ever practice the craft and so it was no surprise when he ascended to the planes and is now a planeswalker. This event has a profound effect on Xiltid, driving him on to match his “father’s” greatness. Head of The Magery is no small feat, and one must be as adept with words as they are in the craft to get there. Xiltid was the youngest ever appointed. His greatest achievement came some time later as he led the final assault that ended the last battle against the Rhox. That last battle. Another of our hero’s inner demons. Years have passed and so, in his twilight, Xiltid has decided to adopt an apprentice of his own.

Karamoor (pronounced KARA-more) proved a natural when Xiltid interviewed him. Bright eyed and astute, his gazes always searching for something. The two were inseparable for a time and not a day went by that some magical calamity or another wasn’t their meal conversations. All things change, and so do our heroes. Over time, Karamoor becomes jealous of Xiltid and his successes. His emotions run high and he begins to convince himself that Xiltid is holding back so as to keep him an apprentice forever. The word “apprentice” rings as slave in his ears. Though clouded by his misguided feelings, Karamoor never intended any harm. Karamoor searched. He dug. He dug, and finally, he found the answer…in a demon.

Oro’ci (pronounced OR-ox-SEE) was ever present in the meeting halls of The Magery, always willing to “lend a hand” where needed. Little did anyone know, of course, that Oro’ci had been playing pranks and preying on The Magery for more than a century when he spied Karamoor for the first time. His presence was still a secret all these years because Oro’ci had a way of shifting good folk’s minds into believing false truths and illusions. And this one? He looked ripe, his anger a cloak and armor. Oro’ci emerged from a book Karamoor had been studying as to appear like a Djinn. He spun a web of lies and half truths about the mage and his place among the truly talented. “What you need”, Oro’ci said with a sideways grin, “is a Mythic Memories spell.”

Mythic Memories were intended to be used on dying mages who wanted their memories preserved for loved ones to look at. Something of a mages photo album. “BUT!” Oro’ci said as he raised a finger, “if you cast this on someone healthy, YOU get all their secrets instead.” Karamoor was desperate, driven mad over the demons plays on his emotions. “If this works,” he said with an unholy look in his bright eyes, “I’ll be the head mage and he will be MY apprentice.” The last word came out slowly, the hard ess taken to near serpentine level.

The malicious apprentice waited until he met with Xiltid for lessons. It was quick, even Karamoor was surprised at how fast and powerful the spell was. Xiltid had seemed pensive before they had begun; no doubt worried his student would grow beyond him. Karamoor had been reciting the spell since two days before and was ready the moment his teacher turned for a book. So quick and easy. When Xiltid hit the floor however, things changed. What had at first been a burst of knowledge and power quickly turned into flashing images and frayed memories. A transformation occurs. The world spins, twists as a serpent. Xiltid wakes alone.

The Dreamscape set is meant to convey Xiltid’s walk through Pritonia in his mind. We begin with:

Mother Madame’s Kitchen for the Plateless
Legendary Land – Rare
Mother Madame’s Kitchen for the Plateless enters the battlefield tapped.
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
T: Put a 1/1 colorless figment token onto the battlefield.
They say the only time you hear the children laugh is when a new child arrives.

This segues nicely into the first new item in Dreamscape, the ‘figment’. Figments are a creature type in Dreamscape that represents those illusions in our imagination. A there and gone again sort of thing. Since figments aren’t truly real, they can only be interacted with under certain conditions. For instance:

Beautiful Figment
2W - Common
Creature – Figment
Beautiful Figment can only be blocked by figments.
1/1
Her fiercest weapon is her smile.

Our hero will have to face his past and determine some of what has happened to him. He is older now, but his magic is strong and he’s ready for anything. After so many years of fighting, Xiltid wanted to finally face the questions of his past. Who was he? What were his parents like? He hadn’t thought of this in years. It takes him what feels like hours before he finds Mother Madame. She is a hideous creature that spits out babies which she eats to grow.

Mother Madame
1WB – Rare
Legendary Creature – Human Advisor
Fear
1WB, T: Put a 1/1colorless figment token onto the battlefield. It gains haste. At the end of turn, sacrifice it and put a +1/+1 counter on Mother Madame.
2/3
All things eventually return to their creator.

This brings us to the first keyword ability in Dreamscape, aura bound. When a creature with aura bound leaves the battlefield, if it has auras attached to it, the auras are exiled. If another creature with aura bound comes under your control, attach all auras exiled this way [that you control] to that creature. So, if I have say… a Wild Auramancer...

Wild Auramancer
3G - Common
Creature – Rhox Wizard
Aura Bound
2/3
He seeks knowledge that was not his to have.

When this creature dies, the auras attached will be exiled. If I were to play another Auramancer, I would then reattach the exiled auras. Or, if another aura bound creature would come into play, such as:

Xiltid, Master of the Magery
3WU – Rare
Legendary Creature – Human Wizard
Flying, aura bound, sidestep.
2/4
As he sleeps, his dreams become reality.

Sidestep is a new ability added to creatures as well. When a creature has sidestep it can only be blocked by creatures with auras on them. Since physical objects are less defined in our dreams, auras are far more common than artifacts. Combat in limited will have an aura sub-theme, as well as a lot of blocking interactions, such as our third keyword, phalanx.

Pritonian Guard
1W – Common
Creature – Gnome Soldier
Phalanx
2/1
“Ni Velde RAI! Me for my brother. – A gnome saying.”

Phalanx is meant to be a fixed banding. If a creature with phalanx blocks with a group, damage MUST be dealt to them first. If there is more than one creature with phalanx in the group, the defending player chooses in what order those creatures take damage. So damage works the same, just phalanx dictates an order of damage dealt.

Some other cards in this set may be:

Horrifying Figment
2BB – Uncommon
Creature – Figment
Horrifying Figment can only be blocked by creatures that have taken damage this turn.
3/2
It existed only in their nightmares…didn’t it?

The Magery
Legendary Land – Mythic Rare
T: Add W, U or B to your mana pool.
2,T: For each colored mana symbol in the casting cost of enchantments you control, add one mana of that color to your mana pool.

Battlefield Ascension
WWW – Uncommon
Enchantment – Aura
Enchanted creature gains flying, first strike and vigilance.
“After thousands of battles, and thousands of prayers, the truly devout are blessed to carry on.”

Rhox Sleuth
R – Uncommon
Creature – Rhox Rogue
Sidestep
1/2
He sees you before you even know you’re coming

Great Rhoxodon
7GG – Mythic Rare
Creature – Rhox Chieftain
All green and red creatures you control gain +1/+1 and trample. Great Rhoxodon has power and toughness equal to the combined power and toughness of all other creatures you control.
*/*

Once Xiltid confronts Mother Madame, he soon discovers the truth of his surroundings but has no recollection of how he got there. His mind plays terrible tricks, turning opened doors into portals to the battlefields Xiltid fought in. That last battle plays out in his head as he averts a sneak attack into a landslide victory at the costs of so many lives on both sides. (Aside: I wanted to include a discussion on how sneak attack could get reprinted here, but then I re-read the card and realized my folly.) However, there are cards that would fit this theme that COULD be reprinted, such as:

Armadillo Cloak
Aura Shards
Empyrial Armor
Replenish
Greater Auramancy
The various enchantresses...

The Void is the second set of the Dreamscape block. We continue our uncanny valley theme, but switch environments. Xiltid discovers more about what has happened and who has caused it. Xiltid is quite angry when he learns it was Karamoor who betrayed him and it colors his thoughts. The Void is intended to have a heavy red element to reflect Xiltid’s plight. We also continue our aura and blocking sub-themes.

Our hero, Xiltid, has finally quelled his inner turmoil. He exits the Pritonian capital only to find more wonders. Just outside the walls of the great city is a vast desert. Xiltid knew this was a creation of his own imagination but was puzzled as to what it portends. He finds the city is the last bastion of his intellect against a slow and steady drain on his mana and spell power. He will help his mental champions slow the encroaching sands and learn the truth of why he is here and what lies beyond.

Our first location will be "The City by the Sea", so named as it was the biggest port in Xiltid’s mind. He had imagined this place many times in his life, as an oasis of high seas adventure for those dull hours of the night. He fancied he’d meet a ship here the day he ascended. Now it was surrounded by crags and sweeping hills. His version abutted the sea and had tall masts as far as the eye could see. Despite being a figment in and of itself it looked as he always imagined. The differences were less obvious at first but he eventually noticed that the ships masts were not strait up. They had listed in the churned sands and now were a spider web of tangled rope. Xiltid ascends a sloped dune after a considerable walk to spy his imagined oasis. The city was mostly wood with the most important building stone with domed roofs.

The long planks that made up the harbor were now ground level, almost covered over in sand. Each ship was buried to within inches of the deck. No one ship stood tall.

City by the Sea
Legendary Land – Rare
T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Mana produced this way may only be spent on noncreature, nonartifact spells.
"Even in its half buried state the port town had a majesty only its loving creator could imagine."

A battle raged in the wide patches of sand between the ships. Some boats were ablaze from spells hurled he could now make out among the smoky confusion. The old sorcerer wasted no time in making a decision about what to do. Whatever is happening, anything trying to take down his dreams was worth fighting against.

Quick Thinker
1U – Common
Enchantment – Aura
Enchanted creature gains +1/+3 and sidestep.
Xiltid cast a hand to the sky and the world wavered as heat on a far horizon. Others walking in the Aether were distracted warring with one another.

Right away we meet the City by the Sea's Champion, Minerie. Minerie was always the woman he envisioned would see him off on his final journey. Now she is the embodiment of death. She brandished a staff and seemed to command the cities defenders from the sky. Rhox warriors charge into lines of pikemen as the cleric freezes them onto the spitted polearm. Battle raged and ebbed like tides against the fords as Xiltid began to discern what in blazes was happening.

Minerie of the City
2UW – Mythic Rare
Legendary Creature – Human Cleric
Flying, sidestep.
When Minerie of the City enters the battlefield, you may choose an aura from your hand or any graveyard and attach it to her.
3/3
"She shone like the sun, hard and bright against the shadows of the Rhox lords."

The enemy leader was known to him. In the years he fought the Rhox there was always Jahara. This Jahara seemed young and vibrant as if the first time they met. He commanded like a bull commands his herd, sending waves of horned rams into the lines of men. Xiltid remembered the last time they met. Battle had waged for hours. Both sides were spent and so Xiltid rounded up the last of his forces and drove them straight to the heart of the enemy. Only The Magery was left. Xiltid had carried that day with him for many years. He longed for the reason behind the death of all those who fell that day.

Jahara of the Void
2RRR – Rare
Legendary Creature – Rhox Soldier
Haste, scramble, trample.
Protection from enchantments.
5/5
"The Rhox have a saying: Only in Jahara’s wake can you find your way home from battle."

Scramble is our first new mechanic in The Void. If a creature with scramble attacks, the defending player must choose a legal blocker he controls at random, that creature must block the creature with scramble, if able. All other blocking takes place normally. This is meant to create tension in limited where a player may have a utility creature he/she may not want to commit to battle and is forced to. A surefire way to force some action.

Xiltid turns the tide quickly; his rage at the confusion of what this madness was fueling magical death. Just making a few soldiers fly was potent enough to rout the Rhox shock troops. The battle was as decisive as any he fought in his living body. Minerie’s soldiers surrounded and eventually swallowed the Rhox mob until only Jahara remained.

Searing Pike
1R – Common
Enchantment – Aura
Enchanted creature gains +2+0, first strike and scramble.
The tip of the lance was so hot it glowed white and you could hear it crackle from the inside.

Rhox Squaddie
1RR – Common
Creature – Rhox Soldier
Scramble
3/2
The Rhox crash into their opponents like a wave. A line of thundering hooves driving forward their best means of gutting their prey.

Xiltid finds himself in Minerie’s command tent before long. There he learns that the Rhox have been raiding the seaside town since the sea dried up. Each time they attack, they take bricks and other pieces of the town with them. The trouble began it seems, shortly after a young man with bright eyes traveled through. He often spoke as if someone was present though he was always alone. Most paid him little mind until he was caught stealing and was banished. It was only a day til the waters dried. It seemed to happen overnight. Or, more appropriately, the water turned to sand.

Karamoor
1BB – Rare
Legendary Creature – Human Wizard
First strike, ghosttouch.
1/4

Ghosttouch is our second mechanic. When a creature with ghosttouch deals combat damage to a creature, that creature loses all abilities and becomes a 0/1 spirit with flying. The in combat clause allows us to focus on creature interaction and avoid the "machine gun" effect you often see with abilities like this. Karamoor could be the only creature with this ability, carrying it over into the next set.

We could also show some painful memories for Xiltid, such as:

Willful Pride
5BB – Rare
Creature – Figment
Ghosttouch, haste.
Willful Pride costs 1 less for each enchantment you control.
5/5

Xiltid uses these clues to figure out his apprentice is trying to steal his secrets. But why? Why would Karamoor turn on him like that? Xiltid was sure he had given his pupil everything he had to offer. The old wizard was sure Karamoor had the greatness of a full practitioner in him. Xiltid could hear the words in his mind: "I treated him as a son". "I gave him everything". It was then that the malaise hit him. A cold feeling Xiltid knew all too well. Hatred, fear, regret, all a ball of mixing fury.

Xiltid's Discovery
2RU – Rare
Enchantment
At the beginning of your upkeep, draw X cards where X is equal to the number of enchantments you control, then discard X-1 cards.
"Answers. That’s all that matters now."

Minerie convinces Xiltid that by defeating Jahara in a duel he will discover where his apprentice went. The Rhox had already made off with so much, Xiltid wasn’t sure he wanted to fuel his guilt any further. He wanted answers but he felt his soul was hurting too much to finish him again. He asks her to help him talk to him and make him see that they were all in peril.

Glow of Dreams
2W – Uncommon
Enchantment – Aura
Enchanted creature gains +2+2 and flying if it is white. If it is not white, enchanted creature cannot attack or block.

When Jahara is beaten, he divulges the apprentice’s location. He chides our hero, telling him "you are one sorry wizard to be taken by surprise by your student". Jahara seems too cocky to Xiltid, causing him to lash out at Jahara.

Chanter’s Rage
R – Common
Instant
Chanter’s Rage deals 3 damage to target creature if you control an enchantment.
Draw a card, then discard a card.

Jahara confronts Xiltid about their last battle and admits to the sneak attack. The Rhox is tired and wants their eternal struggle to end. The enchanter could almost hear his own voice come from the leathery lips "The only answer," Jahara says, "is to make peace with us". Jahara offers to take Xiltid to the "Shrine of the Ages".

Shrine of the Ages
Legendary land – Mythic Rare
T: Add two mana of any one color to your mana pool.
Shrine of the Ages does not untap on your untap step.
Exile an enchantment you control: Untap Shrine of the Ages.

Minerie and Jahara are witness to Xiltid’s exultation at the shrine. He begs for forgiveness for all he has done in the name of keeping what little of his mind he had left. The answer to his prayers came in the form of Nhijil. The planeswalker stood tall before our hero and said "Now is the time of self discovery".

Joined as One
WUR – Rare
Sorcery
Creatures you control gain: +2/+2, haste and are unblockable until end of turn.

The cards in this set would cover the battle and the journey to the shrine. Other cards I could see reprinted here are

Need for Speed
Spectral Procession
Bloodlust
Opposition
The shrine cycle from Scars of Mirrodin
Idyllic Tutor

Into the Maw is our third and final set. Here we reveal all of what’s going on and how it relates to our hero. This set is intended to be the last of Xiltid’s challenges as well. He must face his apprentice as well as Oro'ci. The cards from this set should evoke a feeling of nightmares. While dark, the set is not heavily black. After all, even saints have nightmares. The aura theme gives way here to more spells and combat tricks. We want to go more on the mental side of the game as we explore our hero’s depths.

Our hero Xiltid finds himself outside the maw of Oro'ci. The cave is massive with visible light debris being sucked in. Minerie and Jahara are with him. As Xiltid enters, the hot yellow landscape darkens behind him. He is set upon by a young lad with a striking resemblance to the old wizard. His eyes, huge and wide, are exaggerated to the point of disturbing. He looks deeply into Xiltid's eyes, making him instantly uncomfortable.

Oro'ci's Maw
Legendary Land – Rare
If a card would go to your graveyard, exile it instead.
3BB, T: Return an exiled card you own to your hand.

Young Figment
U – Common
Creature – Figment
T: Analyze target creature.
0/1
"Look!" Xiltid said with astonishment. "It looks of me but for those incredible eyes!"

Analyze is a new keyword. When a creature is analyzed, the next spell or ability that targets it costs 1 less. This should create deep level thinking when trying to aura your own creatures while playing around removal.

The child runs away leading the heroes to a web of tunnels that prove to be a maze. The party is confused and has to find a way to mark their trail. Xiltid can feel the pull of answers deeper within these catacombs. The caves loom like the mouths of things unspeakable in the light of the enchanter’s staff. Oro'ci is lying in wait, and so he assaults the party with some of his favorite illusions.

Wraith Corps
2UUU – Uncommon
Sorcery
Put 5 1/2 wraith tokens with flying onto the battlefield.
You may cast this spell as an instant if you pay an additional 5.
"Their wails start the conflict in your mind long before they rip it out."

All of the ghosts take the forms of Xiltid’s fallen adversaries. His guilt takes its toll as he kills many of his victims again. He sees faces, gestures, and many, many, hard stares. It is here that Minerie falls to the ghostly menace. Xiltid is filled with conflict, as she was make believe, a person in his mind to share his thoughts with as he had few real ears to bend. He shed no tears, instead studying her face in order to remember it in this pseudo flesh and blood.

Reverie
W – Uncommon
Instant
Exile target creature. Its controller may search his/her library for a copy of the card with the same name, reveal it, and put it in their hand.
"The memories I carry are now partly of my own creation."

Jahara shares none of our hero’s pain. He sees this display as a sign of weakness and tells Xiltid so. In less than a dozen words the wizard wheels on Jahara, suddenly enraged. Some outer force is driving the grieving enchanter into a frenzy. His attacks are swift and brutal catching Jahara somewhat surprised.
Xiltid splits into two. Xiltid’s clone then rushes in as he watches himself in rapt fascination. Rage is etched on his clones face as blow after blow of magic pounds home on the husky Rhox's hide.

Static Might
1RU – Rare
Sorcery
Put a token that is a copy of target creature onto the battlefield. It gains haste.
Sacrifice the token at the end of the turn.
1RUU: Return Static Might from anywhere to your hand. Use this ability only during your upkeep.
"HAH!" was all Jahara belted before falling to the apparitions glowing fists."

Karamoor makes his presence known by a snap of his fingers, making the horrible scene vanish. He laughs hard in Xiltid’s face. "Oh master" he says in a childish voice, "You better get in here" he finishes his sentence spoken with pokes to his own temple on the last two words. The word "why" was being spoken wordlessly on Xiltid’s lips over and over again. The old wizard shrank back at Karamoor’s approach, his rage gone. Those bright eyes peering through Xiltid as a hunter spies his prey. Karamoor seems huge against the high curved cave walls. Xiltid runs, terrified by his apprentice’s visage. Echoing in the halls Xiltid hears "I have your secrets master. I cast Mythic Memories."

Mythic Memories
XBUR – Mythic Rare
Sorcery
Target player draws X cards then reveals his/her hand. You may choose up to 3 cards to return to that player’s hand, then put the rest on the bottom of that player’s library any order you choose.

This brings our hero to a halt. His anger rises as he quickly pieces together what happened. There were questions but Xiltid needed to subdue his assistant first. The enchanter’s gut twisted like rope as he worked out the source of such a powerful spell. Karamoor could have learned it but where did he get the mana to make it work so well? Xiltid called back trying to hide his direction "You would betray me when I taught you the ability to cast such an impressive and powerful spell?"

Thought Tactics
2U – Common
Sorcery
Choose one: Draw a card; or return target creature into its owners hand; or target creature gains sidestep until end of turn.
"Hmmm."

Xiltid needs mana to fight back and begins to draw on the memories of those he fought beside in battle. This brings us our second ability, creep. Xiltid sees his compatriots in stills and pictures of their best times. A creature with creep produces one mana of its color during your precombat main phase.

Fungal Mold
G – Common
Creature – Fungus
Creep
1/1
"The poor thing looked like a weed crossed with an ostrich but it was warm to the touch."

Massive Ooze
3GG – Rare
Creature – Fungus
Creep
Massive Ooze produces an extra creep for each aura attached to it.

4/4

This is it, our hero realizes. If he is to learn how all this happened he must take Karamoor now. "I wish you well" he murmurs as he begins the release of mana into his spell. "I thought I was finished fighting" he said inwardly, prepared for what came next. With a quickly lifted arm Xiltid extends his fingers and let’s fly with his most appropriate spell.

Spellcaster’s Glory
RRUUBB – Mythic Rare
Enchantment – Aura
Enchanted creature gains; +3/+3, flying; and deathtouch.
UBR: Exile Spellcaster’s Glory and the creature it is attached to; return the creature to the battlefield under your control with Spellcaster’s Glory attached to it at end of turn.
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may attach Spellcaster’s Glory to it.
"Xiltid’s finest combat chant and he was intending to kill with it."

Karamoor is shocked at the visage of his mentor. Xiltid looks demonic, frayed from being drained. The end battle is short as Karamoor has no more lust for battle. Suddenly, Xiltid’s enchantment drops off leaving him confused, standing over a cowering Karamoor. The old sorcerer is tired but still sharp enough to feel the presence of Oro’ci before he saw the demon. The demon is slender in appearance and peers deep into the old enchanter with large fiery red eyes.

Seize of Power
3WWW – Rare
Sorcery
Gain control of all enchantments. You may reattach any auras on the battlefield to creatures you control.
"All that you are and all your apprentice could ever be."

Oro'ci the Trickster
1BBB – Mythic Rare
Legendary Creature – Demon
T: Analyze
B, T: gain control of target analyzed creature.
BBB: Untap
3/3

"So, we finally meet" Oro'ci’s voice is anything but warm. "In a few moments I will control all that you are, and all that your apprentice could ever be." Xiltid knew there was more to this story. Karamoor was very talented and perhaps would have one day been the head of The Magery. He was faster to many things that our hero mastered. Ten years or more and yet Karamoor could never have cast that spell alone. Xiltid’s mind raced. He searched deep within himself for answers as to what to do about his situation. "First." The old wizard says, a steely edge to his voice. "You."

Xiltid drops the demon after a long drawn out battle. When our hero awakens he finds himself on the floor of the training room in his home. Karamoor lays just scant feet away eyes open and affixed, a white drool seeps from his lip. Xiltid realizes his apprentice didn’t come out the same way he did. The Magery was close and so he roused the understudies and the professors on duty there to come attend to all that happened there. Our hero is drained and sad for, not only his loss, but the loss of all those he took his enemies from. Having lost his student is hurting him deeply.

It is then that Nhijil appears again. "You are ready." he says, and bathes Xiltid in a glow of sunshine. "Now you know the pain you can cause. I always knew you were special and now you are to be among the most powerful beings in the multiverse. Use what you have learned to make this or any world a better place."

Xiltid, Master Enchanter
2WUR – Mythic Rare
Planeswalker – Xiltid
+1: Reveal the top five cards of your library; put all enchantments revealed this way into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.
-2: Search your library for an enchantment card, reveal it and put it into your hand.
-8: Search all player hands, graveyards and libraries and reveal all enchantments found this way. Put all the revealed enchantments into play under your control.
(3)

There are a lot of mental themes and the cards created reflect that throughout the sets. Some cards I can see getting reprinted here are:

Demonic Torment
Invoke prejudice
Ponder
Magus of the Future
Test of faith
Skull of Orm
Thoughtflare

Dreamscape could be revisited in the future when Xiltid finds that Karamoor and Oro’ci are not truly dead and are in fact trapped within the expanse that is a planeswalkers mind. The corruption they could cause could trigger a return to the dreamscapes or they could cause our hero to rail against other planeswalkers in a more far reaching style of scenario.

I hope you have enjoyed my entry into set creation and the story attached. I enjoyed this creative endeavor and only wish I had the time and writing skills to write the book series I believe this could be. I would like to thank both the contest creator and my worthy opponents who have given me this outlet for creativity. Maybe someday we will see a card and it will have an origin in these very posts.

Thanks,
Jazaray

Alright so contest closed? I've received no replies from chargingrhinos or kgthelegend. Feels odd, but I guess I have no choice.

Sorry B14ckM4g3, just got off of work now. Not like it matters as I simply did not have the time to create such a lengthy and time-consuming challenge.

Gratz to Jazaray for being the winner!

I'm sorry, like I said I was on a trip to Japan. The modifier there is that I was flying through San Francisco on Saturday when a plane crashed and I got stuck there for 36 hours and had to reroute myself to Chicago for a business course. That being said, if it'd been on my mind I'd have had plenty of time and I slacked. I'll willingly give w/e prize I'm supposed to get to Jaz because she actually did the work and I didn't so I don't feel like I deserve anything.

So... I was curious. Did anyone (aside from blackmage) read my block? Any comments or anything?

Thanks,
Jazaray

I did read Jazaray's entire entry. Twice. I loved it, and was interested in comparing it to the other entries (that didn't happen). But Jazaray did an outstanding job and would of definitely been a contender for 1t place regardless.

Prizing for 1st place is a foil vedalken shackles. I had other prizes for 2nd and 3rd, but no longer know what to give out (no entry = disqualified?). So Jazaray will be receiving more than just a foil shackles. I'm unsure what I will prize out for the other two finalists.

You can take my prize, sell it and donate the money to charity.

And yes Jaz, I read your story/block a few times myself and enjoyed it

Hi Jaz, congrats! I read the whole thing, too . I really like your idea of a dreamworld state, it can be a source of unlimited power/ideas/creations so one can go lots of different directions, nice job!

Too bad the others didn't have time to put anything up, alas, but I hope everyone will be around next time.

Thanks again bl4ckm4ge, I hope you or someone else will start a new one again (as soon as Devonins' finished, 2 at once is a bit much )
