I was talking to a kid who lives outside of Melbourne, and is looking to get into MTG. Anyone in Australia know good resources to help this kid turn his non-magic stuff into cards? He's too young for paypal/ebay, and most likely strapped for cash.

Just signed up for the PayPal credit card since they had an offer of 'if your first purchase is over $99, we'll credit you $25.' I thought, cool, it's christmas, I'll buy myself some cards for a deck and get 25% off. Went to TCGplayer and bought myself 4 gamble and 2 entomb for $111.One of the entomb sellers just canceled my order with a 2 word message 'lost card.' No apology, just 'whoops.' This effectively nullifies my coupon, since the entire order can't drop below $99 (including refunds or returns) or the $25 credit doesn't go through. Now instead of a Christmas present to myself of a free entomb, I just get another $90 in credit card debt. Fantastic. If it helps dissuade even one person from buying from him, please never purchase from 'Buds Place' on TCGPlayer.

did he give you an option to purchase something else to keep the order above $99?

He refunded the $22 before notifying me and the fine print of the credit card offer says it has to be the very first use of the card, over $99, and is void if any part of the purchase is refunded or canceled that makes it drop below $99.

That's pretty awful. You most likely won't be able to get out of this one. At least email paypal telling them the seller cancelled part of your order without checking with you, and seeing if there's any way you can get the offer if you immediately spend the $22 that was cancelled. You might get lucky.

I cracked 2 cases upon release. On about half of my Ponyback Brigade, the power/toughness was faded almost to illegibility. Same with a couple letters in the title of my Mardu Hateblade. A fair portion of the red cards were oversaturated. I sent pics to WOTC, they said they would look into it but that was back in September.

My store is doing a french EDH tournament, but stipulations are that one of the 15 theros gods has to be the general. Which would you recommend (also I don't play french edh).

Kruphix, Keranos, or pharika. They are all three about on the same level. Kruphix is you like ramping. Keranos for control. Pharika if you think there are a lot of gy shenanigans at your lgs.

This is french EDH, so anything with blue or black in it.

I figured the mono colored gods are out, since it's two colors I won't be having mana issues. Playing 2 colors over one seems like a fair and reasonable approach. I was debating Xenagos and trying to voltron, but I'm thinking that general damage will be less of a thing than it normally is due to it not auto being a creature. Also it'll be hard to answer generals. Edit: the other option is just pick the best two color combination possible for french and ignore the general.

So I probably want to avoid red/white and the other color combinations are fair game?

Hey guys, some advice, I'm planning to sell my foil Merfolk deck and all the cards that are attached to it or at one point, were in the deck. There are quite a few goodies in there to sell (2x Wasteland tempest promo, 4x Standstill, 4x Brainstorm, etc.) Would you sell everything individually and take your time, or sell the whole lot as one?And secondly, on what platform would you sell it? For those not knowing, I'm from Europe. I dislike Ebay. Would MagicCardMarket be ok here? Any experience with other places? __________________ I'm a geek, you're a geek. Spent some time this past month sorting sets while trying to cull down some of my collection and I randomly noticed that cards starting with H, such as Hermit Druid or Aegis of Honor have lower case H's as opposed to upper cased lettering. I've noticed that once they changed the card face with 9th/ Mirrodin, that changed and became upper case lettering. Was there any rationale for it from Wizard's point of view? Was it just a quirk of the font they used? Has anyone else noticed it? I dunno...just a random observation from a long time player.

It's a quirk of the old font. If you compare the 'H' to an 'h' you will see they are different. I believe because it looked so funny wizards made s small effort to avoid names starting with H. Example: Headlong Rush http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=8805

He implied that some Portuguese and French players are cheaters (which they are to be fair, Dezani has a pretty bad rep), and one of the mics were turned on. Not THAT big of a deal but people still like to get upset

It was bound to happen eventually. I doubt very many of the commentators covering these events have a broadcast background, which teaches you to always treat a microphone as if it were hot. You learn pretty early on to watch what you say if there's a microphone in the room, especially if it's strapped to your headset.__________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles.
