People also could get upset if someone claimed that all players from a certain country are cheaters, because one or a couple of them may or may appear to have cheated.

That's like calling all magic players nerds, because they are, I know I guy who plays magic and is a nerd. Ergo.

It's a good thing that this isn't a Portuguese/French website.

On the subject, I don't know any of those guys or reporters, but being a reporter, you should know that if you have an opinion and want to share it, be aware of the timing. And mind the power switch on the microphone.

The closest I could find was this paraphrase - I have not heard it first-hand:

People are mad that he implied other Portuguese and French players are cheaters by national association to cheaters who had been caught recently.

Oh my freaking god! I cannot seem to trade for an Elspeth, Sun's Champion for the life of me. I guess I will have to save up the pucapoints and hope I can get enough for one eventually.

You'll probably spend more in postage getting one that way than just buying one off TCG/ebay. I get limiting yourself to trading for cards instead of buying, but you have to account for online trading expenses too.

My experience with motl. Most ppl here will not down trade. Even if the card is only worth $15 they still want something of similar value.
I would def. Down trade mine to you, you just dont happen to have anything i want.

Its funny. Ppl with $15 cards like elspeth usually want like shocks or fetches. But the ppl with shocks and fetches always try to up trade those to bigger things. Online trading is weird.

I don't know how their booths are set up for streaming, but I'm guessing they may not actually have control over their mics. They probably have someone doing sound off to the side who actually turns them on/off.

Taking a cursory glance at your list, but you appear to have mostly $1 and $2 cards listed. There just isn't enough desirable stuff there. If you have additional $5-$10 cards, I'm sure you could get some more interest.

Why do people feel being more emotional in an argument makes you "more right"?

Apologies for the long explanation.

Need some advice on whether it is worth it to purchase some cards from a friend, and this forum seems to be reasonable and give good advice. A few months ago my friend talked to me about money problems. He is the type that while completely honest and forthcoming, does not mention private issues unless it is a major burden. The last several years his wife has been in charge of the bills. You can probably guess where this goes. Not making full mortgage payments, late on bills, minimum payment on credit cards, etc.

So shift to a month ago, he wanted to sell me some cards. He has very little patience when it comes to ebay, craigslist, etc. A few days later he offers me all his Zendikar lands, 600+ in a box completely in unsorted since release. I buy them. Now he wants to sell his playsets of Trops (Revised) and Goyfs (FS). I have two concerns. The first is that it is a large purchase and I don't want to put myself into debt to get him out, though I'm sure i can swing it as I pair down my video game collection. The second concern is condition. The edges are SP/MP, but all have significant shuffle creases. He played often and shuffled like he was at the Pro Tour. He wants $1,000. Not sure whether that is too good to pass up, or if I should just hold back.

Probably because when people get emotional they tend to get what they want - whether they are right are not - because they other party just wants them to calm down and go away.

Or they become emotional because they know they're wrong.

So 1,000 for 4 HP trops and 4 HP goyf? Seems way high...

Nothing wrong with making a counter offer to him and/or offering to buy just one of the playsets. Let him know that you'd like to help but can only afford so much yourself. Depending on how good of a friend this is, offer to help sell them on ebay for some small compensation to offset the fees and your time, or else negotiate a price to buy them straight and flip them. If you got a good price on the Zendikar lands then just resell those, too...

My cube so far:

Spellshapers, Morph, and Flashback are being added, but the amounts are in question. Check it out if you're interested. I've talked about it on here before. Spellshapers are intended to be featured.

I know. I also know I don't give the card enough credit. I've seen it go for U2 or U3 too often. Meh.
Of course it's great getting 3 cards for U and exiling 7, which you can build around on.
Still, having 2 in your opening hand sucks. Though they fixed that problem .
I'm glad I'm out of Vintage, though I wonder if I'd play it if I still were. Not that there are any Vintage tournaments around here anyway

pretty much any blue deck in vintage is going to be playing 1. it's a lot closer to recall #2 now than when you could play 4, because sometimes you didn't get to delve it down to U before. now it'll almost always just be recall #2.

Any good articles out there on Fate-Khans-Khans drafting? I might actually be able to play an FNM on Friday and I have not touched the format since the week Khans was released.

You should cut the bad guildmages. Armorer guildmage wasn't even good in Mirage limited. Cube is a lot higher powered.

If you're doing peasant cube you need the following:

Death By Dragons
The 4/4 uncommon dragons from Fate Unforged
Pardic Dragon
Volcanic Dragon

Just pulled Ugin in an impulse buy pack from work. Only mentioning it because he's the first planeswalker I've ever opened myself..

Only took three years of being back in the game and innumerable boosters to finally open a 'walker on my own!

I posted a question on the value forums about thinking about getting rid of my Chains of Mephistopheles. They have gone up a lot, I rarely play mine and am thinking about trying to trade up to something big.

I only play multi-player EDH and occasionally Legacy. I think I want a Library of Alexandria. Does anyone think there's a chance it will be unbanned in EDH. I don't understand why it's banned. Control decks usually don't fare well in 4 person games and it's only 1 card out of 99. Chances are slim it will be drawn and be active in a game. Is it the price barrier that keeps it out of EDH?
