Personally I am exciting to see what new modern decks crop up with access to all 10 fetches. It should be interesting.

Pretty happy to hear about the reprint of fetches. I already have a playset of both but the cost of fetches prior to the announcement was pretty ridiculous. Now the other folks in my play group can build more efficient mana bases without breaking the bank.

Initially, I panicked (just check my most recent posts haha) because I had just made a trade for a Delta which looks terrible in retrospect because of the news that happened literally next day after making the deal. However, in the long run, I don't think a reprint is terrible. It gets the cards into the hands of more people. That's kind of the point. I would like to play with cards that do what I want to do most efficiently; this does that.

Well, I can trade for the Delta if you want but yeah, I agree the reprint is a good thing for MTG. The collectors will hate it, but now more players have access to modern/legacy. The duals/wastelands are still expensive but now you aren't shelling out $50-100 on a fetch (depending on the website).

I hope the new fetches stabilize somewhere around/below ten bucks. They're awfully important, and I wouldn't mind finishing my sets (not much left, but still) on the cheap. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. Fixed it for you. Collectors should realize the perils of "collecting" reprintable cards by now.

For those hoarders/speculators, it lets a lot more people into Modern, and some more into Legacy, which will drive the price of other cards anyway. Lose a bit on the Fetches now, but they are still staples, still useable, still moveable if you wanna take a hit. Everything else just gained that much more demand. My local area might not be the best test of the Modern community as a whole, but pretty much the biggest reason for not getting in was the cost of fetches. Even if you're building something relatively cheap, you'd still need like 4 Tarn, and or 4 Misty. Those are coming down too now, or you can live with using a Flooded Strand/Delta if it comes down to it. Almost all of those players who "can't get in" play standard, so it's not like they don't have a reason to acquire the lands anyway now. I legitimately do feel bad for some of the big time dealers that must have lost tens of thousands in value literally over night. I mean, I'm sure it's not a haymaker to them, but holy crap.

Does anyone know if there is a site or tool that let's you print out proxies easily? I'm thinking of getting into EDH with some friends but won't buy a whole deck to start off.__________________ I'm a geek, you're a geek. TCG player gives you the option of printing 1-4 proxies of a card. Search the card, click the link that says 1-2-3-4 proxies, and print them out.

I use magiccards.info. It lets you add all of the cards you want to proxy and then print them all at once. The proxy buttons are on the bottom left of the screen after you search a card.

Not sure what's more embarrassing, getting that stuff graded or getting that stuff graded and getting 8s.

Finally cracked a Lotus on VMA. Only been doing 1-2 drafts a week since it premiered haha. That felt pretty good.https://www.flickr.com/photos/45329373@N03/14964253577/ edit: Too bad I built the deck wrong. Shoulda been green/black probably (with easy white splash for cloak and magistrate).

So finally breaking down and building an EDH deck. I've never played it before, but I know that while there is a dedicated banned list, it's looked down upon to play certain cards still. Would having Braids (Cabal Minion, not the crappy blue one) as my commander/general be considered bad form?

If it's not on the banned list, no.

Braids, Cabal Minion is banned in both multiplayer and duel Commander. http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php http://duelcommander.com/banlist/

I don't see why. If Braids is your commander you will lose when you cast her. edit: never mind, I was thinking of Phage.

I have no idea what Pail is even talking about, but as mentioned before that, she is not a legal commander. If you are worried about 'bad form', then i would say stay away from Stacks-effects. Generally people don't want to continously sacrifice their crap.
