Pucatrade admins saw that I sent it with tracking, and I assume checked that it was lost in Atlanta, and credited him back his points, and credited me the points as well. These will vary by country/region and many are not allowed to sell some/many items outside their country/region. If they sold direct to the customer, as some do, distributors will not carry their catalogs and they would then shoulder the cost and the responsibilities of marketing and distributing their products entirely. This is not always feasible.

Manufacturers that sell direct usually sell at one price to the store owner and a slightly cheaper price to the distributor in order to get the distributor to carry/warehouse the product. It is not always cheaper to purchase from manufacturer's that do sell direct. From the manufacturer, there are usually case minimums (must buy at least x amount of product) and then pay for shipping. From a distributor, you can get one of these and one of those ... and usually free shipping after you reach a certain $$ amount on the entire order. Outside of the US, many manufacturers (like WOTC) limit who can sell their product to the retailler / end user in a given country. This controls supply of the product and to some extent price.
