What's a fun general for a not-junk-but-not-necessarily-tier-1 edh deck? I'm bored with my current decks.

What decks do you have already, and leaning towards any particular color or combination? __________________ The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.

Here are some generals I consider to be Tier 2; aka: Not Rayne, Teferi, Azami, Clique, Azusa, Sharum, Triplets, Arcum, Arcanis, etc...etc,,, Adun Oakenshield - graveyard recursion, but very limted... Ashling the Pilgrim - 99 mountains; or ...some extra non-mountain cards. Ashling the Extinguisher - block or sac. Ihsan's Shade - wrecks white decks. Dakkon Blackblade - aggroooo!!! Borborygmos - super ramp aggro Ertai, the Corrupted - all 3 colors have good selection of cards that trigger when they leave the battleifled/go to the graveyard. think ARchon of Justice type stuff. Experiment Kraj - COMMMBBOOO FUN Kamahl, Fist of Krosa - toss in Oblivion Stone / NDisk and watch lands go bye-bye. Lord of Tresserhorn - my very first general choice when I first started EDH...was to broke inexperienced to make a deck with him. Mirri the Cursed - + some good equipment, hasty general with flying? yaaay! Nath of the Gilt-Leaf - no longer T1, but still a very good and fun t2 with a good deck crafted for him. to many more to list.
so..
what colors do you like, what playstyle do you have?>

I'm having a lot of fun with Jor Kadeen, the new red white legend. His colors are not so great but he is very fun on a casual table.

I personally believe that the new 'dies' concept is dumb.it doesn't really matter that some people called it that. I know many people calling Green mana 'forest' ( should forests add forest mana now?) and I know people who call a creature's power and toughness, it's 'attack and defense'. ( should Doran attack with it's defence now?) I sure hope it's only used for Core sets. /rant

I agree with Myy, it was fine when they changed "comes into play" to "Enters the Battlefield"; but putting "When it dies" is kind of just .... lowering the level of intelligence needed to play this game. Which is a bad thing.Similarly, I hope the spoiled cards for M12 are a joke... please no Bloodthirst But anyway: To anyone that hasn't seen the current spoils, and is to lazy: http://castlesandcooks.com/magic-the-gathering-spoilers/magic-2012-spoiler/ yay for Chandra's Pheonix? And Dungrove Elder (Dung-rove) ....Wizards? Another troll aestic..but [unlimited] P/T? We already say "when it dies" already.Bloodthirst is "meh". There will probably only be one good one in the bunch anyway. Though the hill giant guy looks pretty good in draft. The troll can't regenerate like Ascetic can and requires you to be heavy green. It's not that good outside of draft, and even there, since when was a 4/4 (or less) trollshroud creature demolishing the metagame? quote: Originally posted by joz: I agree with Myy, it was fine when they changed "comes into play" to "Enters the Battlefield"; but putting "When it dies" is kind of just .... lowering the level of intelligence needed to play this game. I think the "dies" thing is brilliant.Hopefully it doesn't cause any confusion for new players as they wonder what constitutes "dying" for a card.

I like it too, primarily because it seems less confusing for dealing with tokens. It should be pretty obvious to a new player that a token dies, even if it vanishes once it hits the graveyard.

It won't. The article clearly said that the only templating being replaced is "[creature(s)] is/are put into the graveyard from the battlefield" with "[creature(s)] die". So for example Mortis Dogs would say when mortis dogs dies. Absolutely nothing about "destroy" being changed to "kill" when referring to creatures. __________________ "I never got any respect at all. StarCityGames is now buying NM Revised Underground Seas for $100. It's becoming harder justifying have duals around that I'm not playing.Legacy now feels like Vintage was right before everyone moved to proxy tournaments.

yeah I know, But I was just throwing it out there because of the " We all already say it that way anyway" excuse, but oh well.
