How do you pull two mythics and a foil rare in a pack?

Flip card can be any rarity garruk being the only mythic. Technically you could pull 3 mythics in a pack (foil flip, foil regular, non foil) __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

What's your store? FakeEdit: Also, bought another intro pack, and busted a Liliana. So even though the prereleases sucked, I still did well for myself

Played 2 prereleases yesterday, both times I lost the first 2 matches and won the second 2 for 1 prize pack. Never got a single Mythic anywhere, though I saw a crapload of them running around. I appear to be the only one who didn't get a bunch of bombs. My 2 sealed pools included 6 rare lands, 1 of which was actually playable in the pool. Something is insanely wrong when a deck that went 1-3 has Mikaeus, Geist of Saint Traft, Mindshrieker and Angel of Flight Alabaster, which I beat in the final round of the day thanks to playing 4 or 5 Prey Upon and a couple Smite the Monstrous in 2 games to steal the win. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Opened Lily, went 1-2 drop. Broke my streak, but found some hotness. I didn't like her at first glance, but after playing her, I do. I don't ever seeing that ultimate go off though. The -2 ability comes in handy way too many times.

Won the prerelease, and a draft afterwards. Never dropped a match (except to a guy who scooped to me because he had to go to work)~2 boxes worth of cards for $30? Priceless. __________________

3 of my 6 rares were lands. I went 2-1 and dropped.

My LGS is just terrible logistically. They add people late (i.e. after the first round), delay forever, and do Top8 instead of Standings. Our Midnight event lasted until 10am, and the Sunday 40man prerelease lasted from noon until 9pm.I'm definitely feeling as if this is not worth me playing in.

I managed a pitiful 2-2 with a really good card pool, but awful draws. I opened Devil's Play, Balefire Dragon, Blasphemous Act, Charmbreaker Devils, and Angel of Flight Alabaster, but never drew the Dragon, Blasphemous Act, or Charmbreaker Devils in any game. I was on the other side of Kessig Cagebreakers, and without removal, and when equipped with a Sharpened Pitchfork, there's really nothing you can do but lose. My other loss was to Nightfall Predator, which just took down everything smaller than a 4/4 on my side.-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I don't think I want to trade with one of my friends again, but it's hard to be upset with him after what he did: Friend: "I opened up a Snapcaster Mage. Did you want one for your cube?" Me: "Yes." Friend: "Let me see your trade binder and I'll make an offer..." Me: "Okay." Friend: "How about your Gideon Jura, Birthing Pod, Day of Judgment, Glacial Fortress, Sunpetal Grove, Rootbound Crag, ... {keeps pulling out more rares}" Me: "I'm not sure I want it that badly." Friend: "You can make a different offer." Me: "I'm sorry; I just don't think it's worth trading $25 in cards for it. I'll just wait to see if it goes down in price and trade for it later. You should trade it to someone who is desperate to get one and will trade you $25+ worth of cards for it right now." Friend: "Oh, well, I play with your cube all the time, and I really would like to play with this card in the cube, so I'll just give it to you, if your add it to the cube."

That's pretty cool of him. Although, they're selling for $20-25 right now, so that trade isn't terrible given the list you have there, although it depends on how many more $1 rares he was pulling out. I think Gideons are more like $10 these days anyways.Wish I was able to go to a prerelease. I technically could have, but it would've been a nightmare.

My call would be Zedruu, maybe Kaalia second. Riku and Ghave can do crazy things, and Mimeoplasm is full of goodstuff. __________________ The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.

Do you think White Weenie Human will be viable in Standard? Maybe splashing red for direct damage or blue for countermagic and Invisible Stalker??Or would going Midnight Haunting/Timely Reinforcement route be better? Or is Tempered Steel still better? What about Werewolves with Mayor of Avabruck/Kruin Outlaw etc. __________________ -Schmitty 7th in Refs [193] in OH-IO (Catching up to jmedina) 2nd in Posts [5887] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

I pulled two rares (Runechanter's Pike, Bloodline Keeper) and a foil Grimgrin, Corpse Born in a pack. It was pretty cool, but there were no planeswalkers in my box. Got two Snapcasters out of all my stuff, so I can't complain too much. __________________ *Joshweek*Letter Bombs!*Facebook Me* *Logout- I had it first (second)!*

the "rare" slot in a pack is either a mythic or a rare. If you get a foil it replaces a common, so now you're up to 2 mythics. With the addition of double faced cards those also replaced a common (for or not). If you hit a Garruk it can be foil or non-foil in the double face card slot (that replaced a common), you can get a foil mythic (that replaced a common) and your normal old urn of the mill mythic in the rare slot. Foil garruk, foil snapcaster, lilly I think would currently be the most expensive pack? Pretty sure snapcaster foil is worth more then lilly foil, but I'm too lazy to bother checking.

In my opinion temp steel is still ridiculously fast. White Weenie looks very viable though, especially with doomed traveler. With doomed traveler, we can survive board wiping, which pretty much shot us in the foot. Stony silence in the mb/sb against ratchet bombs helps too, esp if you're playing ww without swords (should be, imo ww is too fast for swordplay). I think missteps in the MB is a must, though, even, in pure ww. IMO doomed traveler is the star of this deck, so I don't want that countered.I was considering doing a w/u ww deck with phantasmal images. you can image either their card or your doomed traveller and get back your 1/1 spirit creature when they target it, plus w/u opens geist of saint traft to you, and that card's friggin value if it swings in even just one. quote: Originally posted by ryan2754: Do you think White Weenie Human will be viable in Standard? Played some Legacy last night, and sure enough, all I played against was either High Tide or U/W Stoneforge. It seems the Stoneforge decks really don't miss Misstep that much, they just run Daze, Spell Pierce, or Spell Snare in its place. Meanwhile, playing Rock, I seriously missed not having it. Thank you Wizards for really limiting Blue. Well done.

The good news is that now you can have the pleasure of playing Goblins in a meta that's utterly hostile to the deck (as evidenced in your post above), as opposed to the prior meta, which was fine (it was slower, so Lackey and Vial mattered less). Yay.
