heh, thats kinda funny. Mono white is fairly terrible in my experience, unless you go all eldrazi/artifact route.... then its just boring. If you wanted to run him, I wouldn't oppose.

Mono white isn't bad you just have to make sure you have Gift of Estates, Tithe and Land Tax.You don't need to play Eldrazi.. __________________

The power seems to drop off a lot faster in white over U, G, or B. It just doesn't seem to have the game ending potential that other decks can pack. I'd be curious to hear what white cards you use to end ends consistently.

Playing against Avacyn tonight, she's just busted in EDH.. Super hard to deal with even in a 5 player game... In White at least for me I play 8.5 tails, and I play 7 different crusade effects Here are my current and retired EDH decks (missing 2 i just built)

depends how you use his ability. If I played him I would probably always ask "will your answer to my next question be yes or no?" and follow it with things like "will you block my creatures?" or "will you take any actions during my turn?" to prevent counterspells/disruption and stuff like that. But if for example he said he'd say yes and you follow it with a question like "will you concede this turn?" that'd be going overboard. __________________

I might be overanalyzing, but the ability works once per upkeep, and that one has to be answered honestly. So he can say he will answer yes, but doesn't actually have to say yes to the second question because that isn't a free questions he has to suffer the consequnces of.
He also honestly doesn't know what he will say to the next question. He can say "I don't know".But yea you are basically supposed to play go fish "Do you have a counterpsell to use this turn?" as i think the card is vaguely referencing (doubling as a mobster quote). quote:

Gauntlet of Power, Extraplanar Lens, Caged Lens, etc.
Land Tax etc.
Crap ton of removal and Crusade Effects.
Storm Herd FTW
All token producers in white (Mobilization, Sacred Mesa, etc.) Lin Sivvi as general, so some tutorability. Works pretty well because never biggest threat on board, but I can win in 2 or so turns via attack phase. Works pretty well, as most of the guys I play with don't guys that meta for tokens.

thank you for the suggestion. ill have to get that to work somehow. a black red token making general seems like the perfect general to use.

I wanna build a Squee red EDH deck, with a twist.
It's not really a typical mono red deck, I wanna use fun artifacts like Platinum Angel & Emperion, All the Masticores, and Darksteel colossus and stuff. With lots of mana rocks and big ramp like Thran Dynamo. I also wanna run like 4 Fireball effects, Suggestions? Also what else would be just fun casual artifacts to run? I also wanna run Mirari. This deck isn't meant to be super competitive.

Reiterate and Banefire are the ones that come to mind.
Akroma's Memorial, Al-abara's Carpet seems cool, Argentum Armor, Blinkmoth Urn.

Probably going to run Xiahou-Dun. I don't know anything about commander though other than the basic rules, any suggestions as to building a deck around him that'll be competitive and remain fun (probably not doing the Stax thing but combos are fine) would be appreciated. I'm also probably not spending over another $100 or so on this deck unless I just end up really liking it

A lot of ppl just run Corpse Dance with him in order to recur infinitely. Of course, it's a black general so about 10% are just tutors to search out the same cards every game.

Yeah, I got the whole Tutors + Corpse Dance + recur infinitely part, I suppose that's the whole reason of using him as commander so I'll be doing that. I guess like 75% of the Xiahou Dun builds I've seen are Stax builds and I don't particularly like that style of playing in a less competitive environment (though less competitive doesn't mean I need to gimp myself), so just seeing what other options there are. Reanimate?

Well, most EDH decks are just good-stuff.dec anyways  Since you're going to be recurring Tutors indefinitely, why don't you just play combo?
