Buried Alive!!! Sorry, that's the only one I can think of on top of my head.

Pretty much just look at the graveyard based commander deck (devour for power) devour for power

Now I run a U/G Splinterfright / Cagebreaker deck since I don't care about rating at all anymore, and I USED to be competitive... :SMaybe I was off with that portion of my rant, but the rest of it should stay true!
I can name one tournament where you see new players every time? Per-releases. Where all the tabletop players come out. There are a lot of home groups that buy boxs to draft or just play there decks. And wizards got lots of research to back it up.

A friend of mine uses mesmeric orb it seems to do ok for him, fills up his graveyard as well as opponents.

Mirror-Mad Phantasm? Hermit Druid can be degenerate in the right build. __________________ The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.

Nice article, Animosity. Unfortunately its wasted on CQ considering the recent traffic suicide Danger committed with forcing people to pay to use the BST section.Have you considered writing an actual in depth primer on the archetype? I think that with some actual information on play style, card choices, and matchups, the format would be a little less intimidating for people looking to get into it.

I have Buried Alive of course :s Wish i could use 7 of them.Mirror-Mad Phantasm is new to me, didn't know too much innistrad stuff yet. It's awesome. Hermit druid would basically slay me cause i currently don't have any basic land cards. It would be hard for me to work around without building the deck for it. Thanks

I know a lot of emphasis has been put on what happens to physical cards from the fallout in WOTC's diminished support of high-level organized play. But it seems like more should be put on MTGO. After all, isn't it just a practice group for organized play? Casual markets heavily influence irl, but MTGO seems to be even more heavily influenced by competitive players.

Yeah I hear ya . It was my first article and it sucks that the site doesn't receive more traffic even if they don't use the BST portion. Whats your online screen name? do you play Classic?

They won't screw it up that bad. And even if they do, people who play mtg seem to be generally quite forgiving. How many people *actually* quit forever over things like Affinity, Jace 2, M10 rules changes, Lorwyn Block, and Urza Block? They are always back later.

I play a little. My wife is far more active with Classic though. My username is the same on there, hers is TheSadisticBlackDoll.

What is the standard meta like on MTGO? Didn't meet a single wolf run deck in 5 2-player constructed matches.

from my understanding there is a lot of monoblack infect because of the low cost. Also, wolf run green is in decline because token variants seem to beat it.

I've been thinking about a new format for magic where the current retail value of the deck is used to make some sort of handicap. Seems like it could be fun.

Like each 10 dollars spent, you start the game with 1 less life. __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [215] in OH-IO (17 behind helper monkey) 2nd in Posts [6246] in OH-IO (only 1800 behind Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

I see a lot of Solar Flare variants. Yeah I haven't seen too many wolf run decks lately either.

Wurmcoil Engine is a $20 card now. When did this happen and why?

It's been that way for ~a month now. Mostly due to it being extremely good vs Red deck variants and hard to kill. It's also extremely good vs Wolf Run variants w/o Inkmoth.

Sell bulk on craigslist. $10/1000 should move them. Go down to $8 if they don't. Also make sure to fish out anything tradable like karoos and signets.
