Nothing worse than getting reverse ripped.

I was referring to a pile worth less than $10. Speaking of lost mail, the only incident of "lost" mail I had in the past couple of years was someone who did not get upset at all that it happened and was banned for being a ripper soon after.

Most of the time, I think sellers would be more than happy to give you regular shipping if you're willing to accept the liability for lost/stolen/damaged mail. Unless you're willing to pay extra for the mailing, you're going to have to trust the seller. Doesn't matter if it's a $10 deal or $100 deal. Like I said, nothing worse than a reverse rip. I've had several instances of "lost mail" occur. All on trades where I was supposed to receive first, and never received. I guess I could BTA, but I just confirm with them that it was "lost mail" and move on.

Yah, when I send I'm kinda in that boat. You either pay for the registered or take responsibility for the package. Its seems to be going fine so far. The one big thing i hate is when people want to have me send in a plain white envelope though., especially when its a lot of cards. I just feel they can be prone to problems more than a bubble envelope. Post office charges me 1.71 to mail a bubble mailer and I charge 1.75 cause its nice and even. I lose money on shipping considering packing materials and such, and some people still want to pay less! /end rant

Did you get the email that I sent you? I wanted 2 cards in a plain white envelope. I thought it was understood that I was already going to be willing to accept the liability. Lmk

Are these Power at my FLGS real? They say that they bought a huge collection, but they are mainly a sports collectible store and fakes could probably get past them relatively easy.Black Lotus Power

Same here. That's how I've been handling my sales too and so far, I haven't ran into complaints yet except for once instance.

I haven't had complaints, but I've run into some international buyers that just never replied to emails when I mentioned their shipping options. But then, I semi-frequently run into people that don't reply to emails even when they're in the US and shipping is at most $2. Ah well. Most buyers are fine with accepting responsibility. I'm glad it's becoming more the norm here now. For PWEs, I just have them accept responsibility for lost or damaged stuff too. Fine with me, especially on a smaller deal, and I can understand why people would rather pay $1 for shipping than $2--it's 50% off! It's a small amount in absolute numbers individually, but when the deal is $20 or less, it's an additional 10%+ for shipping. This adds up pretty quickly if you buy from a lot of different people.

looks fine from the front, but can't really tell much from that. Check the print markings, check the back, etc.

The Ruby looks a bit off, the Library looks sort of like its border is inked, and most of the power there looks a bit iffy. Back pictures would be helpful.__________________ Looking for misprinted Commander decks. Got one? Talk to me.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/220890446871someone bidding from a phone w/ a tiny screen that can't see the obvious damage to this card? that price is way too high. Maybe the seller should have listed it as altered, lol.

Buying on eBay can be a crap-shoot, especially if a card's value is very condition specific (high-end/set-collecting).

Yeah ... but that Confidant is pretty messed up. It's not even in a sleeve, so that damage can't be attributed to just bad photo-taking. Shouldn't be any way that it sold for $77 considering NM ones sell for just a tad more (and have sold for a bit less on occasion).

I meant buying any mtg card can be a crap-shoot. Not only that obviously horrible Dark Confidant. For the most part, buying cards on here is the way to go.

Except that nowadays I have to pay minimum $15 shipping. So yeah, ebay has it's ups.

Shipping to Canada is much less than $15 if you send via First Class. Find sellers you trust from US or stick with Canadians. No where does it say you have to pay $15 minimum to ship.

I can *always* get a refund if I pay $3 to an ebay seller. I *can't* here.

Simple economics. One group of buyers offers guaranteed delivery for $3. Another offers guaranteed delivery for $15. Which one would you choose? Obviously the $3 one. Other factors come into play, like better availability and lower prices here, but all things equal the eBay seller wins.

I'm merely explaining why me, and a lot of other similar people, especially non-Americans, choose to make smaller purchases, particularly of easy-to-find items, elsewhere.

Yay!My first ''big'' event was a success yesterday 21 players from Ottawa, Gatineau, Montréal and even Toronto came. We added a playset of Chrome Mox and 14 boosters + some promos to the prizes along the playset of NM FoW.

I want to host a (relatively) big Legacy event for one of my local stores. Any suggestions? The current format I'm looking at is a 1K. Prizes would be: 1st - $500 2nd - $250 3rd - $175 4th - $75 5-8th - $25I was also looking into getting duals instead, of doing cash would interfere with gambling laws.
