On a practical level, what's the difference between 4-color generals and 5-color generals?

well, no green does hinder mana production I'd guess. Beyond that, nothing.

There's not much you just -woudln't have- but there's plenty you wouldn't have in its most efficient colour. That said, 4-colour generals, I'd just play the non-red one and be fine with that.

The last time I saw R&D talk about it, they mentioned that whenever they tried to make a 4 color general, the general ended up being more about the missing color than the 4 it had. I wouldn't expect them any time soon.

How could I check how much QP I've earned in season 3 on MTGO? I have tried to Google for an answer, but they kept on pointing me to 2011...__________________ MOTL Fantasy NBA 2010 ChampionYou know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocketship underpants don't help.

Once in a while, I get these toploaders that can hold 4-5 cards in them. Anyone know which kind these are? I went to BCW supplies to look at stuff, and I guess 1mm is "standard," is the 2mm one the one that can hold 4 cards?I guess they also cost more, which defeats the purpose of me looking at using those to ship playsets instead of two 1mm toploaders... bah

Missing only one color doesn't really do anything to lose something thats been divided in the color pie (life gain, counterspells, burn, flying, etc). When you move to 3 colors you do lose the ability to do a few things when you lose certain colors. Tutoring becomes very hard once blue and black are gone as an example. Take away white and black and you probably aren't reanimating anything. If you wanted to run a nephilim I wouldn't have an issue. I think it would be something you need to keep local because having to ask every time you play and such becomes a hassle and could make people think you're only winning because you've chosen to use a commander that breaks the rules. Yore-Tiller Nephilim is my favorite. I ran it in 5 color EDH for a long time, hes super fun.
In my experience, when someone builds a four color deck, it's really a three color deck with a small splash of 1-2 cards in the fourth color.

With 4 color creatures, it seems like it should focus on the 4 colors. With 5 colors, the creatures don't really have all 5 colors of abilities. Child of alara, sliver legends, Maelstrom archangel, horde of notions, fusion elemental. And Karona of course. not like they have a basic function for each element, or close.I like the nephilim. As the only 4color creatures i have no issue with them being played as legends. Though i can't say they make a damn bit of sense to me.

Open your collection, go to the filter thing at the top for your cards, and scroll through all the sets and QPs will be at the bottom.

I'm i nthe same boat. I try to save them for random trades for a few cards that are more then 1 toploader but will fit in one big toploader. I think they are the type made to hold jersey sports cards... although I know nothing of sports cards. I *think* thats how I see them advertised.

I've been told by some locals just to run a 5 color general, and not play white. The issue I have with that is, Glint-Eye Nephilim fits SO WELL with the theme that i want to do. quote: Originally posted by choco man: On a practical level, what's the difference between 4-color generals and 5-color generals?
Nothing, to be honest. I would just think it would be cool to create something like the Nephilims for 4 colors... quote: Originally posted by Pringlesman: In my experience, when someone builds a four color deck, it's really a three color deck with a small splash of 1-2 cards in the fourth color.
Fair enough. If I built this, it would be BlueBlack base it looks like with Red for a few specters and Green for a few card draw stuff. Just want all the specters and card draw I can get. I just love the theme.

I like it when members here are selling Sorin, Lord of Innistrad above SCG's price. It stops me from impulse buying a card that I don't need.__________________ MOTL Fantasy NBA 2010 ChampionYou know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocketship underpants don't help.

Its pretty crazy. He is down to $30 on SCG.. I was happy a member had Sorin foil for $68 shipped to me when other members still had him at 85 + shipping

I thought people would be selling them at around 25, since usually 80% of SCG's value is about right. Guess that is not the case for this one. __________________ MOTL Fantasy NBA 2010 ChampionYou know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocketship underpants don't help.

How do they plan on distributing those promos?Edit: Wished they would have just foiled-up the OG Sneak Attack instead. "Nothin' beat surprise, 'cept rock."

Ah. Yeah, it's just annoying because I went to BCW and there's like 100 different types of toploaders, aaaah. They're also incredibly convenient, so I guess if I have to spend a little more to buy them, they might still just be worth it. Easier to penny-sleeve X cards and put them in one toploader instead of using two toploaders or taping stuff between toploaders. Hmmm.

If you send via PWE then an extra toploader means an extra 20 cents for postage, so the thicker toploaders are completely worth it.
