Well, HE disappeared for awhile, but he's back.Previously: quote: yakusoku:
Judge gives him a warning, tells me to shuffle up, and present my deck again. As soon as the judge leaves, he says, "You're a {censored}. Why do you have to tattle on me? It was an accident, but you're a {censored}. I'm up three cards on you now, and I'm going to beat you.". . . Then he continues, "You know you cheated, right?" Me: "What?" "Your deck has too many mythics. You're a cheater. I cast my spell of {censored} YOU. It costs no mana, so I just get to say, {censored} YOU!."
He was back again tonight, but this time I was playing Standard and he was playing draft. I just walked by his match and stopped for a second because I recognized him. He turns to me, "oh, it's you again. How are you doing?" Me: "Okay." Crazy FNM Guy: "You know, it's curt answers like that which will get you beat up. Also, because you're a {censored}." I walked over to the head judge (different judge from the last time). "Have you had the pleasure of dealing with him all night? He just threatened me and called me names." "Yeah. Well, what are you going to do? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do in this situation." One of my friends in the military is here for a few more days on leave and he said to me, "where is this guy? Can we just beat HIM up? I think the four of us can take him. Is is that big white guy with the hat? Oh, he's that Asian guy with the glasses? I think two of us could take him." Me: "I think *I* could have a good chance against him. But, remember what our friend used to say - 'Crazy trumps everything.' Let's not go beat him up." Both times he's been there, the usual no-nonsense judge hasn't been there. Instead, I've gotten apologetic guy who didn't want to make waves and apathetic guy who really doesn't seem to care. When our usual judge guy gets back, I think I need to have a few words and let him know that if this same FNM irregular is there playing while I'm also trying to play, I think I'd rather spend my time and money somewhere else. Edit to add: Paying for the tournament entry counts as a store product (I paid in advance, through their website), so I got an e-mail asking for feedback. My reply (limited to 120 characters): quote: yakusoku:
Another player threatened to beat me up. Judge didn't do anything. No more pre-reg; if he's there, I won't be.

And so he's now gotten someone who will probably consistently beat him at magic to stop competing against him. He probably considers this a win.

[/QUOTE]Does the store owner allow this guy to do this, if so that's a really poor business decision this person will drive people away from the store because he sounds like a real jerk.

It's been quite awhile since I've seen the store owner. He's got employees to handle the day to day stuff. But, I feel like talking to the mayor (owner) won't do anything. I need to talk to the sheriff (head judge), but right now all I have are lackluster deputies (other judges) running things.

If it is really bad you could tell the day-to-day folks you need to talk to the owner somehow. Can you a report an individual by name to the DCI and get some of penalty put on them...?I don't have /horrible/ people at my shop. There's a guy i correct a lot and he gets really frustrated and calls a judge. Actually, last night i corrected him twice on things that helped him >.> There's another guy who has been playing too long to not know basic rules but tried to cheat me just to see if he could. He tried telling me my 3/2 can be double blocked by 1/1's and die, but i can only hit one of his creatures. I told him he knows better and we could ask the judge really quick (which he does on me nonstop, who was sitting RIGHT next to us) and he says "well, /i'm/ not really that worried about it. it's just a game." Meh. I'm gonna go take the test and be a judge so i can tell these people to stfu

Last nite I was def. that guy at the store being a dick, I was in a terrible mood due to some politics and shady dealings and I got so irritated at the dumbest questions in the history of the world. Just these 2 people, just ask the same stupid thing over and over or just hang over my shoulder when I am doing deals and I ask them to move back a bit and all they do is go to my other shoulder....ugh

If you let it get to you, it's real easy to let one rotten individual ruin your whole experience with MTG.Well, guy looks through my binder and sees a foil Rout that he wants. He says, "I want this for my foil cube. What's it worth?" I normally don't play games and waste time, but I've got time for this. So I reply, "It's pretty old and I know prices have jumped a lot, how about $60?" "I don't think it's worth much." "Oh, so you already know what it's worth? Just let me know, I'm not in the loop right now on that old card." "I don't know either, but I have a feeling it's not $60. How about I look it up on eBay with my phone?" "Go ahead, we have some time between rounds." "I couldn't find any foil Routs on eBay. So I looked up a regular one and it says $5. Foil is like...double, right? Let's do it for $10." "I think that's a really low offer. Can I see your phone and look it up myself? " "No." "So if I asked you, 'If you're a scumbag?' The answer would be 'yes,' correct?" "....."

Gotta stop drafting mono black in 3x DKA drafts. I always get mana flooded while losing to 4-color abominations.
