Can you just confirm with the judge first how he interprets the rules regarding prize splitting and/or drawing, before doing anything? I figure that might save a lot of headache and potential DQs. I mean, we have Josh who is apparently just vehemently against any sort of prize splitting, and then I know my LGS is probably the opposite and lenient on this sort of thing (though the prize structure here doesn't support splitting anything anymore).

At a PTQ we had the head judge say if we wanted to discuss splits or game outcomes etc, just make sure he is present and if you offer anything that he views against the rules he would allow you to "take it back" so to speak. Sounded fair to me to make sure someone doesn't get a loss over someones interpretation of something. Would be nice if all judges and players handled it that way. "Would it be okay if I offered...." prior to presenting the offer to the opponent saves a bunch of headache.

*sighs*Can't figure out if I want to mess around with getting stuff that's going to rotate just to have some fun the next two months before they do. I mean, I can always have fun playing other decks that run primarily INN block/M13.

nah, you just have to do it right. Tape off the edge w/ a tape that peels cleanly away, scotch magic tape works best. When you color the border make sure your stroke from the sharpie is away from the tape never parallel or toward the tape. I've done it to a few commons (such as reclaim) that I only had a 7th edition version of but not a foil one so... needed to be black bordered! With some practice you can also rub the sharpie w/ something like a paper towel and take away the gloss from it some to make it look better, but once in a sleeve that doesn't matter all that much.

Went 3-1 in a Standard daily on MTGO. I lost to Delver doing the things it does - flip Delver early, cast Vapor Snag twice off of Snapcaster Mage, equip with Sword of War and Peace to prevent me from blocking with Restoration Angel. Sometimes Delver just gets "the draw".

But the games are so interactive? Why the hate? /sarcasmSo for resleeving my cube, what do I want to purchase for sleeves? I'm probably going to do 200ish basic zendikar lands and the rest of the cube is about 800 so figure 1100 sleeves? I want to do this once, not pay money and split them like I did.

I've had to play it a few times at PTQs. It apparently won the first PTQ I played at. I haven't lost a match to it yet, but I'm playing esper midrange and have a decent amount of answers. I'm just careful and try not to take extra damage. I'll often take a hit for 1 then gut shot end of their turn on inkmoths just to avoid taking more from pump. It makes them "waste" the pump spells. 2x gutshot, 3x doomblade, 1x go for the throat (often worthless), 1x o ring, 4x snapcaster keeps the dudes away. Blade splicer makes it even harder for them to attack. From the board I bring in a divine offering, revoke existence, and another o ring. Its not the bet board package, but its something.

If those are your options how many cards overlap between the two Stax decks? Could you keep both and run different versions to keep from getting stale or based on what you feel like running that day? Though, I'm assuming the Humility version runs Moat and that can get you a nice bit of change.

What did Morbid do? I don't know about the foreign prices, but the others don't seem too bad.

That's what I mean, people on MOTL don't usually troll buy/sales lists like that unless there is a reason.

Oh lol, I thought they were just all wrong, or not reading. Not sure what's up with the $43 Tolarian Academy though.

The problem for me so far is the turn 3-4 kills. Yeah, some other decks can kill that quickly too, but those generally involve miracle Revenge of the Hunted (turn 5-6 kills are fine and if they happen you're just too slow). This one doesn't need to rely on Revenge for the turn 3-4 kills, but can also kill using that, making the quick games happen a not-insubstantial number of matches. I played against Infect in the 4th round (won 2-1), cut to top 4, had to play the same guy again, and lost 1-2 this time. Every single game I lost was a turn 3-4 kill, every single game won was a game where I killed their first 2-3 creatures and they just had 5 pump spells in their hand and nothing on the board when they lost. Two of those games I killed a creature and the next card they drew was a Revenge with nothing to cast it on. It's stupid and W/L is basically entirely based on the first 10-11 cards of the game. Aggro decks are fine, infect is stupid.

Just forces you to play answers. I don't have an issue with this. A lot of decks like Naya are getting away with running nothing in the early turns to stop infect. If Infect gut shots/mental missteps their bird/elf they have all but nothing to do. Infect just preys on the inability/unwillingness of decks to adapt. I certainly haven't seen a rise in gut shots played in naya, but I do see the occasionally nod by having a melira in the board.

I'm fine with playing answers, I'm not so fine with the entire game hinging on the first 10 cards. You can play X amount of answers main deck and then side in Y more cards and if you don't draw enough of them in your opening hand + first few turns, you can very often just lose. It becomes more of a coin flip or dice roll than magic to me, and I haven't run across any other deck that does that in Standard, period. I also don't play other formats very often because I just don't enjoy what happens in those games.
