I haven't drafted online in awhile...3-0, 3-0, 1-1, 3-0. I think I like this format so far.

Yep, triple Avacyn. I've never drafted it before this week.

Haven't got around to changing the price of my Land Tax on my hw list (still at prebanning price of 6.50), and got multiple offers for it in the past two days. One was from a high ref member who tried to trade me commons/uncommons/standard rares for it + cash. I mean, seriously?!!!! I would expect someone trading rares for it at my stated price, HOPING I'm unaware of the unbanning. But commons and uncommons and standard rares? I would have expected better from said high ref member, especially when directing this offer at another high ref member. I mean, do you really expect me to not know? And even if I was unaware, I always check the prices when an offer is made just to make sure I'm not missing anything (especially if MULTIPLE people send me PMs asking for the same card) because I don't update my prices (despite taking most of them directly from MOTL). Don't play me. Sad to see high ref members doing this to high ref members, let alone anyone. END RANT.

Forgot to log on to MODO last night. I have an account I created back at launch, although I have not played an event in years. I just pop on for Momir casual games when I'm bored.__________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Well poop. Nothing for me. That's ok, though. I might sell some stuff on there so I can draft a time or two. Not sure. I don't care either way. I really like my handle though: RaisinBran. 2 scoops! Well, the scoops are usually mine...

For years I used to get people sending me offers for my $10 Imperial Recruiters based on ancient sale lists from like 2005. Ditto for every other P3K card that spikes.

you mean you can't just set it aside after cracking your delta and then slip it into your hand, wow that's pretty blatant. Hope this gets back to SCG people who should know. Maybe they should start having judges watch premier matches more closley seems like these things go unnoticed more often than they should.

He got Dq'd - no prize - while in the top8, dont worry. There will be an investigation (because there is always an investigation after a DQ like this), and he will probably be banned for 1-2 years. It's blatant, and it's on camera. He's an moron. An aside, i would prefer they DIDN'T have judges watch, and let people like this just get caught on camera so we can ban them instead. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? I got the full deal, then bought 3 more graveborn decks for 11 tix each -- really wanted to get a playset of entomb online again, considering I sold my 4 MTGO entombs at 47 each when they first announced graveborn last year.

So I am playing in my first IRL standard tourny this friday. I have Naya Pod and Red/Green aggro built. I usually only play casually and none of the guys in my circle play the "hot" deck. I have been told the more than 70% of the decks I will see are delver or mage blade or some variant of u/w.I am trying to decide which deck to play and also if there are any red/green cards that usually are sideboard but maybe i should main. Thanks for any advice! Tim *EDIT (also put up a question in the deck help board but wasnt sure if people look there as often)

In an ideal world the commentators would have caught it. I didn't know what was going to happen before I watched the video but just watching it with any bit of attention and you can clearly see him leave at least a card on the table when he fetches and shuffles. I'm not sure what kind of video feed the guys in the booth have or what else they have going on that they might not be able to watch it but that was an easy catch. The salt in the wound is the "wow, he naturally drew..." when, again, watching the action he never drew any cards after the shuffle.

SCG has removed his name and his deck from the Top 16 Legacy decklists.I watched the whole second game from the start again and noticed lots of other things before the Big Cheat: Jon is down 0-1 and needs to win this game on the play (he does NOT get an extra draw). Jon starts the game off with Island, Relic of Progenitus, Wasteland, Swords to Plowshares, Flooded Strand, Polluted Delta, and Jace, the Mindsculptor in his hand. Jon plays Island => Relic. At 8:02:07 he turns his deck sideways. This is not suspicious by itself, but we know what's coming and this action allows him to move cards from his library to his hand faster (there's less distance) and make a smaller motion. Try it out - one requires you to move your hand the length of a card, the other only requires you to move the width of the card. It's all these subtle actions which add up in the end. Sam opens up with Inquisition of Kozilek taking Swords. Jon's hand has even fewer non-land cards now. He has Wasteland, Strand, Delta, Jace. He exiles the fetchland Samuel played. Just as Jon is about to draw, on his turn, he also uses Relic to exile the Inquisition. This is classic misdirection that magicians/illusionists employ. You can do some sleight of hand if the other person is watching something else or DOING something else. In this case, Samuel has to move a card from one zone to another while Jon draws a card. Jon has already put a card face down from his library in front of him that he's about to draw, so he's not manipulating his library or even touching it as Samuel is making an action, but it's significant that Jon has set a precedent that his graveyard is in front of his library, he moves a card from the library to a zone between him and his library, where he has cards that he draws/his hand. This allows him at the moment of the big cheat to play this off as this area is where cards that are in his hand, or in limbo - going to his hand are located. If there are multiple cards there, it's not on the battlefield and not in his graveyard, and at the moment of the Batterskull steal, his library is with Samuel, so this card "belongs" in his hand. Jon plays Wasteland, sacrifices it to take out Underground Sea, puts it in his graveyard, touches his library and waits for Samuel. Samuel takes his turn, plays a fetchland for a second Underground Sea and Jon touches his library again. Unconsciously or consciously, Jon is making it seem like it's natural to touch cards in every zone during any action. My opponent just played an ability? I'm going to readjust my graveyard. My opponent cast a spell? I'm going to shift my library one inch closer to me. This way, his opponent thinks nothing of it when Jon later hands his library to Samuel and plays with other cards in other zones. Samuel casts Thoughtseize and takes Jace. As the commentators note, this really takes the wind out of his sails; Jon is just hoping to get more cards from the top of his deck to do something; he's only got lands left. Jon plays Flooded Strand, touches his library again, passes the turn. On his third turn, he repeats the "I'll set aside a card for my draw, use Relic of Progenitus now, and while you exile a card, put my draw into my hand" move. 8:04:12 - he puts his hand down in front of him, splays out his lands, then picks up his hand again. On Sam's turn, Jon cracks the Flooded Strand and presents his deck to be cut. Sam only does a cut (no shuffle). Jon takes his deck back and arranges is vertically. A Vendilion Clique from Jon reveals Flusterstorm x2, Wasteland, Mishra's Factory, and Jace in Sam's hand. A Jace turns into a Pernicious Deed. 8:06:51 - Jon turns his deck sideways again to his preferred orientation (this follows him earlier touching and turning his deck, but not a full 90 degrees). A Snapcaster prompts Samuel to exile Jon's graveyard in response and Jon moves his library around again. (I feel like this could be a drinking game. Watch this match and every time Jon touches his library, take a shot - only I don't recommend this as you're likely kill yourself.) He touches his library twice after that, for no real reason I can ascertain. Jon casts Stoneforge Mystic and gets a Sword; Samuel gives Jon an opening here. Samuel is quick to take his turn, without waiting for Jon to finish shuffling and presenting his deck. This is dangerous and people like Jon are the reason why I try not to rush into my turn while they are still taking actions on their turn. If Jon doesn't give his deck to be cut or Samuel neglects to cut his deck, Jon can force a card to the top, appear to shuffle while not touching the top card, put his library down and next turn get the exact card he needs. In fact, Samuel gets all the way to attacking and Jon doesn't present his deck and Sam doesn't cut. Jon knows the Deed is likely to wipe the board, so he could easily put a second Stoneforge Mystic on top and play it the turn after Deed gets popped. Then we get to where most people cue the video - Jon casts Stoneforge Mystic, gets a Batterskull and AGAIN, doesn't give his deck to his opponent to cut/shuffle. I'm not saying that Jon definitely manipulated his deck, but it's very suspicious that he does this twice after the very first time allowing his opponent to cut the deck. His draws after each shuffle could easily have been Stoneforge Mystic and Vendilion Clique. He only allows his opponent to cut again that game, when he needs a misdirection to grab the Batterskull while his opponent has his deck in his hand.

they're pretty much always between .93 and .97. lately on the higher end of that though. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for?
