We sent a guy who needed Reckoners to the PT with 8 of them, told him to ship them at $40

So the top makes this look like one of the best standard formats since the last time Ravnica was legal.

I've been seeing a lot of deck lists show up with one or two volcanic strength in them. I'm assuming this primarily done for the mountainwalk so that you can try to outrace aggro opponents. Is this correct?

Yes. There are so many red decks in the field right now that tossing this on a creature and getting it out of burn range can be game over in a race. It's best placed on a creature that can't be hit by Ultimate Price or Abrupt Decay, since those seem to be the most common non-burn removal spells out there right now.

So I'm playing R/B in 1v1 EDH. French banlist.

What are the best targest for Imperial Recruiter? I've got Bone Shredder, Fire Imp/Ghitu Fireslinger, Gatekeeper, Avalanche Riders, Any of a large number of goblins, and... what?

opponent had alms beast, angelic skirmisher, black primordial, and gideon. Super fun times.

most can put away a game of limited by themselves. Gideon might be the exception depending on what deck you're running and where you're at in the game. Alms beast is too large. Throwing away a creature to gain some small amount of life is hardly worth it. The skirmisher is just stupid; I've had games all but a turn away from winning to have my opponent randomly go to 30 life and give me no profitable attacks. The black primordial is at times weak, but the intimidate is rough.

Honestly I think it's kinda cool how close we came to the first female pro tour champ.

Edit: also, thoughts on adding a fourth pro tour?

I'm a fan. Neat idea to have the two standard PTs fall on both sides of rotation for maximum diversity.

Yeah the format timing is well done. Not excited for what block PTQs are going to do to Boros Reckoner pricing. Remember silverheart? Jumped to 12 despite being in an intro deck.

Now they just need to fix GP prize structure.

So, like, I have this friend who was playing in FNM and drew some extra cards because his sleeves were sticky. Nobody noticed, and he kept playing and won. But then he lost a later game and didn't win any prizes. Would you have reported him if you saw this?
Spoiler alert! When I realized that he didn't report, I shanked him in the alley behind the card shop, shot his brother and stole his cards. Serves him right, eh?

You need to sit your friend down and ask him why his cards are sticky.

How do cards get sticky?

It's amazing to me how many people fail to take care of their cards.

Sleeves were sticky. Cards I assume were fine. Stick to the story.

agree with all this
though I wish they would sat away from Block Constructed in general rarley is it a good format, and if the power of Boros Reckoner is any indication so far the whole format in block could revolve around that card.
