I think its playable in Legacy. Likely the only Legacy playable card in the set. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario and Canada 9th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

This one is pretty bad. Of the 10 champions, only 5 have any whiff of playability outside of limited or EDH (Rakdos, boros, golgari, azorius, gruul). The fuse cards look good though.

Anyone who commented with incredulity about his karma was answered with "it's higher than yours" or "you'll be banned first", myself included. Apparently, he was mistaken. So, how about that Dragon Maze set? Anything good?

Some notable cards, but a lot of crummy cards too. I was much more excited about RTR and GTC. This will be the first set since I got back into magic (during DKA) that I won't be buying a box.
I'll just pick up the few rares I want as singles and grab a playset of commons and uncommons off ebay. This is generally the smarter thing to do anyway, but I always enjoy cracking a box with friends.

I know it wasn't an implicitly stated cycle but it bothers me just a tad that Selesnya didn't get their "X" spell.

The only reason I haven't decided to do exactly this is because the boxes provide some extra value due to the random dual lands in boosters. Has there been any more word on the chances of getting the dual lands ... "You are about half as likely to open a shockland in Dragon's Maze as in Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash" http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/1156 There are 68 rare+mythic cards in RtR and Gatecrash, so that gives a 5/68 chance of a dual from those packs and about 5/136 ~= 1/27 chance of a dual from Dragon's Maze? That's really not much more value per box now that I've done the math, but a ton of bulk I'd have to sift through.

The math is off a bit because of the mythics. Out of every 8 packs you can't pull a Shock in 1 of them. It worked out to 1 in 11 packs for RTR and GTC so about 1 in every 22 packs in DGM will have a Shockland in the back.

Right, my math assumed an equal chance for a rare or mythic which is not correct.

Will the shocklands be included in MTGO set redemptions for Dragon's Maze?

Were the basic lands (RtR symbol) included in the set redemption for Gatecrash? The shocklands in Dragon's Maze use the RtR and Gatecrash expansion symbols, but the gate cards use new art and Dragon's Maze expansion symbol. I guess no, but that's just a guess.

Frankly, I don't really see anything of use for Legacy, which is too bad. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. EliotRIP Ari Legacy UGB River Rock primer. PM comments/questions. Info on grad school in Phil.

If that's the case, then it seems obvious to me that the MTGO redemptions would not/should not include cards from another set. Can't wait for shocks to crash in price so i build up a playset of all of them
