Dark Confidant @ Mythic leaves no chance for the card to have any long term reduction in it's value/price. Additionally, any other big cards that are printed at Mythic Rarity will have the same outcome, i.e. Mutavault, Clique, Thoughtseize, etc. With such a limited print run and packs already looking like they'll be selling at $10+ a pack, the cost to attain these cards vs. the limited supply of them means not much will change. If anything, original art could eventually become more rare? Or the shorter supply of the new art? Who knows. All in all, this release looks almost like a scam with it's preface being to make more modern cards readily available for players when in actuality the cost to draft, or purchase these packs is super inflated, and prohibitive and the limited supply having no effect on the market, long term. At best, we can hope that it would help Finks and Serum Vision prices out.................

I'm a little bit frustrated with how little information on Modern Masters is released by Wizards. The only way I see it now is that the set will be amazing value-wise, otherwise, with each passing day, people are just going to go crazy trying to get their hands on boxes. And if the set sucks, those people who pays a ton for them will complain and some will rage-quit.

This, crossing my fingers it's packed with value, but day by day grow more worried I fell into the crazed group trying to get their hands on some.

We may be in the minority, but I agree. I don't really care for the original artwork. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! (So am I)*CKGB

I strongly prefer the first Bob art, but if this had been the first art, I wouldn't mind it. It's fine (haircut/clothes aside) as a concept - dude is making your throne before your eyes, as your dark confidant/advisor. I'm not sure I'd trust someone who looked that goofy, but whatever.

Spoiled by whom and to what degree? As far as I can find out the picture (the same they are using for the ultrapro storage box) was indeed revealed way back in February but ONLY the picture. Comparing this art to the 7/8th art it seems obvious that it must be City of Brass, but that's not the same thing as spoiling the card. I was not trolling. I'll just put this up again in case it was missed on the first page.

I'm trying to determine the point at which it was officially (or unofficially) spoiled. So far the only thing we have determined is that it was NOT at the time the product was announced. Edit: According to google the card image gallery was put up 3 days ago. That appears to be the spoil.

Officially it was a couple days ago. Unofficially everyone knew what it was when the picture was released in Feb.

I don't know how you can assert that a special set designed entirely to add more copies of modern staples to the market to be a scam. If you are arguing that the price speculation might surpass the actual value of the MM set... welcome to almost every magic set release, ever. I never really enjoyed the inevitable "pre-disappointed" aspect of set spoilers, precisely because people apply preconceptions that don't actually apply. Seems best to simply hold judgement until more info, though it's always a laugh to see the extreme ends of the speculation spectrum.

ENTIRELY designed to add copies of modern staples? A scam, may be a rough term, but you don't think that they are trying to make a killing selling these semi-rarities? __________________ Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, and other vampire females oddities (crimp miscut misprint sign testprint alters etc)My Saleslist Wants

A company making money off of a popular product while also supporting a format that needs better staple availability is now a scam? God forbid they profit while answering the needs of the playerbase. WOTC doesn't need to hand out gifts to the masses.
