Number crunch off of the set dictates that there just wasn't room for both glimmervoid and mutavault. There's always hope that it appears in M14 (mutavault is a sliver...), but seems unlikely.

Regardless, I'm very happy to see more glimmervoids hitting the market. I'm still banking on Tezz AOB to eventually get enough tools to become a viable archetype in modern. Make Baleful Strix modern legal damnit!!!

When Return to Ravnica got announced, I was excited because Baleful is a dimir card. Then I remembered that it's artifact also, meaning that it wouldn't exist in Ravnica.

Flavor be damned!

Oh well, in the future.

So far as stated mutavault and thoughtsieze are the two biggest omissions but others I feel are missing are listed.

Bribery would have been good as well. Not much modern use but what are the dragons too. Still lots of commons and uncommons. Seems weird that all the rares are spoiled before the other 100+ cards.

Not really, this is kinda how most spoiler seasons go. And this one especially cause a lot of the staples are going to be at rare and everybody wants to see whether those high profile cards are in it or not. Generally speaking people are more interested to know if goyf and bob are being reprinted than, say, murderous redcap.

The set IMO looks like it'll draft great so far, but I don't see plopping down $35+ for a draft set. Thinking I might havta wait till after the initial hype to get some boxes

For $35, I'll be taking the money out of every pack and hoping to pull something together. It may "draft well" in theory, but in reality, most people are going to value pick.

Yeah, that's true. And the alternative of sealed by the sounds of it would be approximately $60+ which would be absurd imo

See, now that is a little more manageable. Not great, either, but for a set with the caliber of cards/limited print, that's fine. Just the gouging that seems to be going on with the hype has me pushed off doing as much as the drafts or events the stores out here are putting on due to the inflated costs

Auriok Salvagers is a rare? Really? Awesome when you pay at least $7 MSRP and crack one of those bad boys!

Still can't believe they put in Angel's Grace. I guess **** rares are a "Modern Staple" as well.

In draft it's nearly always a foot soldiers. All there is is spellbomb to use with them.

I wish I am that lucky, my store is offering 50 per draft. And there's only a handful of people that draft consistently, so that means we will always be two or three short.

But I can see a lot of people no being happy with this set. There's gonna be some noobs that get all excited and spend like twenty dollars and open like 4 worth of cards that they can't use for anything

Agreed, Standard is the biggest game so opening things you can't play on a regular basis is kind of upsetting for new players.
