Realized two things on my way back from FNM tonight.1) I don't think I've ever seen a Modern Storm deck resolve an Epic Experiment right. 2) Asking "So what's the card worth in actual Cash/Monies?" is a good response to someone telling me what a card sells for on SCG. __________________ <Jazaray> LIQ! <Jazaray> you broke MOTL <Liq> totally <BoltBait> Don't make me kick you <Slinga> Have no fear, MOTL's janitor is here! <nderdog> So we're all agreed, it's Liq's fault, right? <Leshrac> let me deal with that * Liq has been banned

What deck are you running?quote: Originally posted by Pail42: Standard? Has anybody played/tested a matchup like this?

Selesnya aggro and mono black devotion. I was just pondering the type of deck that would have a really good matchup vs the devotion decks.

So I bought a collection that came with a pretty nice binder, but the guy jams as many copies of a card as he has into each slot (so there's like a slot with 8 cards jammed in it, for example). Any way to smash the slots back down so that 1 card (typically sleeved) will fit in it and not just fall out?

Just buy new 9 pockets. They are cheap online.

It's like an ultra-pro pro binder thing. $15-20 or something retail. Not a big deal, but this one is pretty nice other than the stretched out pockets (and the other two aren't bad, I just don't like how "STANDARD" and "LEGACY" are written on them). I'd like to salvage like $50 worth of binders if I can make them usable, but sounds like that isn't really happening to at least one of them. :/

Yesterday I learned that Annul is amazing when it also counters a third of the creatures in the format in an enchantment heavy format.

that likely can come off. If its sharpied on, use some sorta solvent. Just store cards in the stretched out binder in the same fashion. I've got a bunch of those $20-25 ultra pro binders laying around empty from buying collections, no idea what to do w/ them. Giving things away I paid money for always feels bad, so they collect dust instead ><

LOL yes. That level of disillusion is completely lost on me. It's either super good marketing on their part, or MOTL just conditioning me to scoff at those silly prices.

Yea, but it has a strange interaction with Bestow in my opinion. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. We don't know games. We can't read minds. Say it like you mean or STFU." -rockondonMy Sale Thread

I don't think it is, one tournament where Sneak and Show dominates does not equate Ban. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario and Canada 8th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

WOTC seems to have some fetish for basing things off of SCG results.

Why is Keen Sense going for $2.50? Is it just because of the Modern GW Auras deck? Also

Here's hoping. Unless it gets Survival unbanned, which would be even better!

Unleashing one evil to combat another is never a good idea. Show and Tell falls into the category of "card that was useless for X years in MTG until they started printing cards like Emrakul/Griselbrand type giant idiots". They wont ban the creatures, they will ban the enablers that cheat them into play first. I could see SnT getting the axe bc of the power level rise in targets it can abuse over the past few years....it's also why I don't think you'll likely see Survival off any banned lists anytime soon.

Apparently, if you cast a bestow creature with the Bestow ability, it is only an enchant aura on the stack, which means you can annul it. If you cast it as a creature or the enchant aura target goes away, it's just a creature on the stack. It still doesn't make sense to me.

I believe it's still an "enchantment creature," thus a legal target for annul. It would only prevent a counter that said "counter target aura spell" from actually working. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

According to the write-up for Theros release notes, it is never of both types while on the stack. Like you, I thought it would still be similar to casting a card that had "artifact creature" in it's types. The line in particular that gave me fits was a bullet under the "Bestow" section that read: "On the stack, a spell with bestow is either a creature spell or an Aura spell. It's never both." Did I just misintepret this? Because this would make me extremely happy. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. We don't know games. That wouldn't make any sense. You could annul Luminiscent Luminid or whatever it was called. Also this funny. http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/65305817986/can-we-have-a-land-destruction-discard-and#notes

I was referencing the release notes as well, and I think it's just poorly worded. It stops being an aura spell, but it does not stop being an enchantment spell. That's an inherent part of its type, being an "enchantment creature." It only gains the aura aspect if you are casting it using it's bestow cost. Try reading the relevant rule with one minor tweak (probably how it should have been written): quote: 702.102d As an Aura spell with bestow begins resolving, if its target is illegal, the effect making it an Aura spell ends. It continues resolving as an enchantment creature spell and will be put onto the battlefield under the control of the spell's controller. This is an exception to rule 608.3a.
Emphasis mine on the added word. Honestly, bestow is kind of a mess. It causes slight twists on so many rules that just seem counter-intuitive to the way people have been playing with auras for years.

I love you so much right now. That's the way I assumed it would work. So either way, annul craps on anything with Bestow, yes? __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid.
