First time i've ever been ripped on MOTL. I don't feel bad about it because i took the precautions not to get ripped on what felt like a normal deal with something off.__________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario and Canada 8th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

It feels just as fast as RTR if not slightly faster for control.
Interesting that these same stores are more than happy to send out every single person's overpriced pre-orders that they gouged buyers on.

My old LGS was this way too. Also, my current LGS uses SCG pricing, but if you show them 5 completed ebays around a certain price, they'll honor is. Plus, if you do store credit/trade, they'll value your stuff at SCG as well. The player base and continued business is more important to them.

Along the lines of getting ripped on presales. I got a red god foil at a very good price on eBay. Paid and realized the guy posted it again at normal price. He didn't refund my money tho. After 1 month and no shipment I made a claim. Right after that he provides tracking. I get package and bam 2 commons and no foil god. Now I have to make a new claim and try to get my $15 back on a shady dude with 30k+ feedback. He did just get 34 negatives this month tho. And over 1000 positives.

I think both strategies could work long term, but the argument also goes both ways. Everyone expects a LGS to hold up a certain moral code, but if they've got Nightveil Specters in the dollar bin, most people are going to take them. For every time a game shop rips a person off, or gouges a bit, there's definitely times where they get rolled. I have found that some owners are kind, and they take the good with the bad, and are ultimately trying to make the community for Magic awesome, but at the end of the day, you're in it to make money. Somebody's always going to try and catch you napping. When they do, it's perfectly ethical for them to grab the cards for dirt cheap. When the LGS does anything remotely shady, it's bad news for them. Anybody who's a shop owner should know what he has, but I have found that some owners have this sort of mentality. It comes off as unfriendly, or greedy, but it's sort of a reaction to them being taken advantage of. Others say "my bad" and continue being cool.

I think I'd avoid a seller with this name Even with my MOTL name being somewhat of the same lines. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario and Canada 8th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

At the Theros pre-release both my son and I got Polukranos in our pools. He just likes some of us.

Not im my experiance, Ive seen a show screw the whole player base over 10 years and people still go there for lack of any other options....damn store even goes so low as to steal from its player, yet they say/do nothing. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

My high school LGS was just sold, so sad. Owner was awesome and probably the reason I'm still into board/card games. He was in it to make people happy and made enough to live how he stated he wanted to live. When times were good for him prices dropped and when times were tougher he would ask for some assistance in staying afloat (I was one of the only guys playing with older cards so he'd sell me duals that he knew nobody else would buy at a fair enough price). I used to donate tubs of commons/uncommons ever year or so for people to pick through that he would give away to the newer guys, he even gave me a FTV realms as a thank you last year. It's really getting kind of sad, a lot of shops are closing and it's becoming that SCG type stores dominate so hard that people are willing to drive hours to an event and overpay on cards. Hopefully some of you folks are having better luck with LGS than me.

Interesting. Personally, I have no issue whatsoever with stores charging SCG-level pricing. My issue lies with other business practices, i.e. honoring pre-sales, avoiding favoritism, impartial judging, etc.

I'm in the same situation with a guy that has 10,000+ feedback, mtgwarhammer_store. I pre-ordered 4 Stormbreath at $28 total first day they got spoiled. He's nowhere near as rude or as bad as burnout18! seems though.

outerworldcards - their store name is JM Comics and Gameswas unwilling to honor one playset of fleecemane lions at 20$. He was preselling at 10 at the time. Hope their negative was worth it. __________________ Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore"

http://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/005441.htmlOn this BTA, one can always say that he didn't "explicitly" agree to waiver. Just that he said okay to using PWE and paying the $0.50?

My inclination (not that my opinion matters!) would be to say that the agreement was explicit: Peaceofden posted his preferred option, and specified that liability was waived. A day later (but in the very next post), arwhite states that they are in full agreement on the option.

Apparently, I just received a notification from Salvation that my Trade Eligibility is under review with no other explanations...... I don't care either way as I rarely trade/sell on there but it's kinda annoying when I don't know what I did.

In other news, the new Commander decks have some pretty good value in them:http://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/article.aspx?x=mtg/tcg/commander2013/cig P3K reprints like Hua Tuo, Strategic Planning, and Luo Xun. Mythic reprints like Avenger of Zendikar and Thraximundar. Rare reprints like Baleful Strix, Goblin Sharpshooter and Wrath of God. And Command Tower/Sol Ring are also back. Back to Salvation suspension I'm using a friend's PayPal account as if it was my own since PayPal charges fees on my account regardless if it's a Gift transaction or not. The mods over there is trying to say that I'm defrauding PayPal since "they charge for the service they provide and you're attempting to go around that". *Facepalm*. I still don't understand how I am different than other sellers who let people pay with Gift payments. Oh, and their rules are okay with Gift payments, so does that mean the entire Salvation site is defrauding PayPal??

The moderating doesn't make any sense on Mtg Sally. I really only post on the cube forum, which has thankfully avoided crazy overmoderating.

Wish he liked me, I can't complain anymore though, just opened first pack Elspeth, second pack Stormbreath Dragon and third pack Purphoros. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45329373@N03/10344409185/ edit: Did win the draft and next pack opened a Polukranos, guess I really cant whine now. Finally broke the mythic streak with a foil Sylvan Caryatid.
