Thank the judge who trained me (I think his name is Kevin D. but it's been a long time). He was a cool guy, and was the only reason I ever got into judging. He usually needed help at some of the tourneys he'd run by himself as judge/TO back then. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. Yes, you can always call a judge and describe a card and they can give you the name + Oracle text for it.

What are the rules regarding proxies that they are forbidden to buy/sell/trade, but you can sell the GamingEtc proxies? Is it acceptable to enlist someone to help me create proxies if the design is similar to MTG but not a copyright infringement?quote: Originally posted by gaeacradle: Yup. Anyone you have 3rd partied with available to help others? I could use a lead. __________________ Want Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, and other vampire females oddities (foreign, foil, crimp, miscut, misprint, sign, test print, alters, artist proofs, etc)Seeking jap/rus/kor/ger nonfoils for Ghave EDH

If I recall it's because the proxies are listed as "sapphire, recall" instead of ancestral recall, sapphire etc.

Most proxies use WotC trademarked material. it is illegal to manufacture for profit goods with trademarked material (art, mana symbols, card design, card back, etc), and as such motl doesnt allow their manufacture or sales here. You're welcome to make your own, for your own use. the Gaming Etc proxies do not use anything owned by wotc, and are perfectly legal productions (which probably have their own associated trademarks, and shouldnt be reproduced either). Additionally, most vintage tourneys that allow proxies have certain requirements, most being 'basic land with sharpie', so that you and the judges know exactly which 10/15/whatever proxies your opponent has. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."<@Anusien> Pretty sure New Zealanders are the sheep shaggers <KIP_NZ> Anusien: I'm a kiwi and I've shagged a sheep <KIP_NZ> we kiwi's like our sheep

I top 8'ed my first PTQ today. It was only six rounds with 38 people (it is Mother's Day, after all), but it was still a really cool experience. I registered a pool with eight rares-- including a foil Mana Confluence and foil Nighthowler. It also had a Dictate of Erebos. I'm not sure how that guy lost, honestly. Someone else had nine rares. I ended up with seven (Boon Satyr foil), but only played two. Started out 4-0 and then double drew into top 8. Those 14 points were good enough to nab the top seed with tiebreakers. My deck worked like this:Fly over you. No, really. My pool had 13 fliers in it. I think I ran 10. Rise of the Eagles, 2 Supply-Line Cranes, an Ornitharch, 2 3/2 flash dudes, Chorus of the Tides, Anvilwrought Raptor, Wingsteed Rider to go along with Wavecrash Titan, Hundred-handed One, Eidolon of Countless Battles, Lagonna-Band 0/4 dude. That's not all but I don't remember. Basically if I got to 4 mana you were in bad shape and if I hit six you lost. Then the top 8 drafted... ugh. The two people to my right played the final while I scrubbed. To me, that means I did a really poor job of drafting. I'm not surprised, just kinda bummed. But on the whole, today was a good day. I had two teammates there and they both also top 8'ed. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! (So am I)*CKGB

it isnt 'infinite', because it always ends when your opponents die.

I do these for the proxy vintage events I run I did a grid in filemaker pro that prints landscape 3 cards by 2 cards. I then tape pealed foils down to the "test page" and run it through the manual feed slot in the laser printer

Modern players are so bad, I bet a pro can probably top 8 with this. I know I felt awful going 4-1 with the stoneforge event deck at FNM the week before rotation. quote: Originally posted by Krieg: I do these for the proxy vintage events I runI did a grid in filemaker pro that prints landscape 3 cards by 2 cards. At first I thought it was cards against humanity meets magic.

If I'm not mistaken that's the same description that was on another box of cards that the seller didn't show pics last month. I need to try this...

Probably not terribly competitive, but from a value perspective (quick browse of TCGPlayer): Elspeth is currently ~ $17 Playset of the the checklands ! $20 Sword is ~ $20 card 3 Path to Exile ~$15-20. 3 Honor of the Pure ~$6 3 Kataki ~6-9 Value wise I think it's very good at the $75 MSRP.

There are going to be some very disappointed ebayers who pre-bought them on ebay for $100+ (this is a good time to remind anyone preselling on ebay; remember to follow the presale listings policy 100% to-the-letter to avoid buyers backing out of their purchase when the price drops. properly list your handling time, or you WILL lose all cases against you)

And you're missing the $20 in City of brass $20 for Windbrisk Heights (yes they sell for $5each) and $12 in Caves of Koilos. If you go Full Retail (SCG) the lands and Mythics are more then the MSRP Value comes in the 18 rares and 2 mythics in it. That being said it liek needs another few $100 of cards to be competitive. But FNM is really what its aimed at. With the price point so high i think these will be pretty easy to get from your FLGS
