Was it just me or did I not see CCG/TCG in there?

Just call them and explain it to them. I'm insuring through them right now.

Is it just me or is the JOU event deck terrible in terms of value?

What is the approximate rate you get?

What is the value of your collections, that you decided on insurance? Do you have a 'bar' for whether or not it's worth having insurance?I just did a count of most of my value and hit $7,000 (going by TCG low-ish values, nothing close to SCG), and wondering about insurance myself. edit: Really sick of seeing people charge out the ass for DC on shipping. It hasn't been called DC for a LONG time now, and it doesn't cost extra. edit 2: "Your choice: $1.50 PWE, $2.50 Bubble Mailer, $3.50 Bubble Mailer with Tracking" This is what i mean. There is something wrong with me, that i feel actual hate for this person i don't even know. Lol.

I would just use SCG, that's the cost you can cite to replace at apparently.

Shipping with tracking is close to $3.50 now and some people will always say DC as it was that way for years.

A bubble mailer with tracking holding anywhere between in 3-4 toploaders (let's say 3 cards per loader) costs me consistently in the $2.32 - $2.60 to send. It's all going to be relative anyways. Some of it depends on the size of the envelope, not necessarily the weight of the contents, I've found.

You can use PayPal multi-order shipping for any shipping, not just PayPal purchases, and send up to three ounces for $1.96, with tracking included. Guide here: http://imgur.com/a/SXIqb You want to send as a first class parcel.

Needs to be updated on prices, but that's a pretty good explanation of how to do it. I have not waited in line at the post office for a domestic package in over a year and I've probably saved a ton of money in the process. Also, jellyfishfanatic, size of the package does not mean a thing with first class parcel. It is all about the weight. Anything 3oz. or less is $1.96. You can use the service for anything up to 13oz, which should cover just about all smaller orders of cards. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. It doesn't cost me $3.50 unless it changed very very recently. And i am definitely referring to the people who don't realize the name changed and it doesn't cost extra, not people who just use the old name. I mean the people who will charge $2.5 for bubble mailer with no DC (in reality it might be $1.75-$2.75+mailer and comes with tracking automatically), then have the option of $3.5 with DC (in reality, the same shipping method). I only go case by case, personally. If i send only a couple cards in an bubble envelope my postal worker will tell me it must be sent as letter mail and does not come with tracking. Which is asinine, and simply putting a wad of paper in to change the size is sufficient. Things happen.

It costs $3.50 (more like ~$3.36) if you walk into a brick-and-mortar USPS office and get a first class parcel sent. If you have a computer, internet access, a printer and a PayPal account, you would never again pay $3.50 for packages that weigh 3 ounces. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. Probably because that's the best way to cover your ass. After the Hoosk debacle it has been that way, which was a couple years ago now. Plus, as many have mentioned, you should by no means be paying $3.50 for a 3oz tracked package within the US. My goal for the past few years has been to go to the Post Office as few times as possible, and have gotten it down to only dropping off International packages because I have to.

How do you print off postage (tracking and what not) if you don't use ebay?

Seriously? I thought everyone here was aware of this, but you can go through the multi-order PayPal shipping deal and print/pay for shipping. I, however, skip all that crap and just go to www.paypal.com/shipnow. Once you log in, it's self-explanatory. For normal bubble mailers (anything around 6" x 9"), just choose first class mail parcel (2-5 days) and go from there. Until I got a scale, I just guessed the weight (always slightly over if at all possible), but using a scale is simpler. You also negate the risk of returned shipments due to lack of postage. EDIT: Fixed the link. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. We don't know games. We can't read minds. I was mistaken. Whenever I get orders, it says Ebay on it even if it wasn't from Ebay so I thought people just abused the fact you can print off for Ebay. So basically I can stop going to the post office unless I want insurance or something fancy?

You can even get insurance through PayPal. As mentioned though, it's very much worth investing $10-20 in a simple mail scale. It will pay for itself pretty quickly when you factor in the discount from buying postage online. It's better than having to deal with trying to guess how much a package weighs. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

I actually use my kitchen food scale for weighing mail occasionally, which might sound crazy but is pretty accurate considering. It's digital one and converts grams to ounces and back for you. Works well in a pinch.

Aren't you like completely hosed if they forget to scan it? At least if you go to the PO, they can't forget to scan it.

You can now use the USPS website for international shipping. They now include tracking and allow you to complete the custom form online as well.

Going to the PO counter only guarantees they scan it at acceptance. Either option offers the same risk of it not being scanned at some other point in the shipping/delivery process. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

After I got my scale, I still went to the post office to make sure they were using the same information. That was the day I learned that one of the guys (I remember his name) at the counter was continually charging for higher weights, especially for international mail. quote: Originally posted by oneofchaos: I was mistaken. That's because ebay owns PayPal. quote: Originally posted by oneofchaos: Aren't you like completely hosed if they forget to scan it? At least if you go to the PO, they can't forget to scan it.
Like iccarus said, some waypoints are great about scanning everything. Some just plain suck at it or refuse to do it. The USPS personnel in my area and several other are very regular about it. I've only had issues with a couple areas. quote: Originally posted by MoSlim: You can now use the USPS website for international shipping. I've tried to do this several times, and it always bugs out on the customs form. Even the people at the USPS counter told me it doesn't do what they want. I've had more success using the kiosk inside the USPS building. It's greatly annoying, but I don't have to rely on their personnel being there or screwing me on weight. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games.
