Did Player A make the statement during Player B's upkeep or before he had even untapped for the turn? I'd lean towards scumbag move if it was a distraction made after PB untapped for the turn and was just starting their upkeep. Otherwise, there is no excuse for PB missing the trigger. If you play with pacts, you should know enough to leave yourself a reminder to pay for them on upkeep.__________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. If I recall (I was an observer), Player A sighed after his card was countered. Thought for a minute (was sitting on an island in hand). Went to tap islands, decided not too. Asked Player B to pause at end of draw step. Bazinga.Heck, even if in upkeep he asked to pause at end of draw step if at that point Player B doesn't pay Pact he wasn't going to anyways.

When did that change? I have refs from before the system screwed up that were never MOTL refs. Also, about the player A and player B thing... Drawing a distinction between FNM and other events is exactly why a lot of the players at FNMs never get better. I encourage all of you to use FNM as a teaching/learning experience. Scrubby McNoob isn't going to learn if you let them take a pact back. Personally, I'm willing to give player A the benefit of the doubt without actually witnessing what happened for myself. Either way player B should not be excused for not paying for the pact. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! (So am I)*CKGB

i mean that it's a glitch in the system showing refs as non motl. i have 74 refs, and currently HALF of them are non motl. except ALL of them are from people on motl. just like a lot of other stuff here, this is broken too. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."<@Anusien> Pretty sure New Zealanders are the sheep shaggers <KIP_NZ> Anusien: I'm a kiwi and I've shagged a sheep <KIP_NZ> we kiwi's like our sheep

At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I'm not going to let people take back plays, and if they make a poor play I'll let it through. It's a 50 min round. There's been plenty of times in FNM where I'll crush somebody very fast and spend the rest of the time playing practice games against them, swapping decks, teaching them strategy and trading them. When you are in a match, you are their opponent, not their teacher. There's plenty of time before and after a match to teach and/or learn. I still had no problem with what Player A did. If I was Player B, I'd be more mad about myself not putting a die on my deck than the fact that my opponent got me on something totally legal.

@ Josh.I feel the opposite way. Without the consequence of making a play mistake, the person is less likely to learn. Like, if you let it go, they're like oh phew. If you hold them to it, they're like, ugh I better not do that next time. Or they're like you're a jerk JoshSherman (in which case they're not gonna learn either way).

The sooner they lose to their misplays, the sooner they can receive help from a decent opponent (especially at FNM level) or a friend. I've almost always learned more from a misplay than a great play. In fact most great plays were enabled by prior misplays.

There is a reason for multiple rels. At fnm, especially low stakes, especially if they are new, I let things slide.

The other half of the story has not been told. Part I of Godsend covers her becoming Heliod's champion. Part II of Godsend doesn't come out until May. https://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/1411 __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Fake - why is the photo quality different on the very bottom of the card? Inner borders too rounded. They just shopped some card that already came out.

Unless Wizards is going back to the 7th edition numbering scheme, Wooded Foothills would not be 269/269. That will most likely belong to a Forest. It's also missing an expansion symbol. Seriously, if you're going to be an idiot and make something like this, at least you could take the time to get some details right. EDIT: Ha, just noticed the Delta was out 267, not 269 like it should say. What a moron.

If only to make good quality fake pics that are believable. People panic and then you buy x fetches.

They would undoubtedly have new art anyway. And not have shocks and fetches together in standard.

If they are in m15 wouldn't shocks and fetches only be together. For 2 months tops?

Didn't wizard stated that they didn't want to have too many dual color lands in standards? Wasn't that the reason they stopped printed the checklands in m14? If that is the case, then why would they print fetchland in m15?
