Couldn't disagree more, and have no dog in the fight. The final block was clean, and contrary to Van Gundy's opinion, is never a foul. The ginobli drive was more questionable, but Allen's first contact was the ball. It was as much a foul as green's strip of lebron.

That's been true for a couple of years now. This Finals, I only watched Games 6 & 7. Just from those two games, much improved over last year's Finals. During Game 6 as Duncan was absolutely abusing Bosh, I was imagining TD riding into the sunset Admiral style. Then LBJ turned into the Hulk and lost his headband. Game 7, Miami rained in the triples and finally in my life I got over Mario Chalmers for beating the Calipari Tigers. People were actually serious about giving Danny Green the MVP? That's like Marc Gasol being Defensive Player of the Year.

Seriously? I mean it has to be one of the best finals I've seen in a while, but the best basketball in 30 years??! I can't even stand most of the rules changes within the last 10 years to say I like it all that much as well as the bad and/or missed calls.

Turns out I wasn't kidding. With the championship on the line, the tried and true spurs were up 4, shooting free throws with 28 seconds left. Lebron misses a 3, offensive rebound, makes a 3. Another missed free throw, and a missed 3 by lebron. Bosh, with another offensive rebound kicks it to the all-time 3 point king Ray Allen, who gets his feet right and doesn't hit the rim. Lebron, with the season on the line down 10 to start the 4th quarter, puts his team on his back and almost loses it when he runs out of gas, only to be bailed out by the jitters of a veteran team and his teammates. Keeping Parker in check all game he ran the offense like a point forward. What rule changes are bothering you? Missed calls are a part of the game. Lebron didn't get the Jordan treatment by the officials. Tony Parker was molesting him when he got his post-up offensive foul, and Ginobli should've at least got a flagrant when he elbowed him in the throat. There was no foul on the final Chris Bosh block either. Edit: I'm a Laker fan, and game 7 of the western conference finals against Sacramento wasn't as good.( Kobe to shaq alley-oop). They were down 10 to start the 4th in that one as well. It was more gratifying, but not as good.

Forgot Jordan treatment. There were several nights of just Jack-a-Lebron in the lane when the refs had seemingly swallowed their whistles. They weren't the only case of blatantly missed calls, but those seem to be a concerted effort just by the sheer number of them. In general, stuff like the jump-stop, how many steps you can take before "taking off" as well as just the way the refs call defense. Everything about the new NBA just feels completely geared towards easier or "more-exciting" offense.

I don't even understand why GMs/teams are chasing Dwight Howard. He had a couple good seasons in Orlando and got them to the finals once. The man believes he can put a team on his back, but is a not a decent passer, can't make free throws to save his mother and is a prima donna without having done anything worthwhile. Yea... that's what I'd pay max money for. WTF??!

How many legit max players are in the NBA? answer: Less than the amount of teams in the NBA And when some of the max player are on the same team, it makes perfect sense why the teams that were in the Dwight sweepstakes wanted him to play for them very very badly. As a GM/team, you clear up all of that space (taking years to plan) but then in the end you have nothing to spend it on. Since we are on MOTL, the concept of trading down matters big time here, especially in such a player-centric sport like basketball. What can you possibly spend $15 million on that would equal Dwight Howard? There isn't a lot of options available. Dwight did take his team to the finals which is more than most other max players can say. Is he as good as past big men? No, but they aren't in the league anymore. You can only compare Dwight to what else is available. I am a Laker fan. I don't like Dwight's game. I don't like the vibe that he puts out, especially considering that he was quite public about his faith in Christ before he blew up. But I really don't like how the Lakers got absolutely nothing out of Dwight. I just think of who else they could have traded Bynum for. Dwight is a prima donna, but at least he's a max player. What do you think about Asik demanding a trade?

My point is why couldn't the Lakers just coast for a bit? Get someone from the D-league or trade for someone who has some bit of talent and can be coached up. I just look at what Indiana has done with Roy Hibbert, and I wonder if the Lakers just can't win without having those stars who have already been made. He's not the only big I've seen develop over time, but he's the biggest of them all in my mind.I also keep thinking of all the awesomeness Andrew Bynum could've done in LA had they gone back to Phil Jackson. That man knows how to get the best out of a center, and Bynum was really good on both ends of the floor. If only he didn't have knee problems... Oh, I laughed oh-so-hard when I saw the Asik trade demand pop up on my ESPN app at first. I'm not sure what he expected. Then I kind of understood it, but I hope he didn't wait until the Dwight Howard sweepstakes was over before he said something to Rockets front office via his agent or otherwise. For his contract, he'll easily find a new home.

NBA free agency always boggles my mind. At least my team signed Tony Allen.
