Lol, I'm not gonna say his name, as he was very nice it just made me laugh that he said he has to make a profit.I'm all about people making money and such, but my real job has me dealing with profit margins and such, I don't want to deal with it in a game that is my escape from said career.

True, you can get a much better pleasure% if you get rid of your profit making mentality and focus more on the casual market and the emerging opportunities found in EDH. I'd say you can get a Fun/money return of at least 12% above average when compared to online games for instance. A wise investment sir.

So, I'm planning to build a pseudo-peasant EDH as part of a challenge to a friend. Basic rules as follows:-The general can be any rare/non-mythic legend -The other 99 cards can only be C/UC (no limit on uncommons) -Cards count at their lowest printed rarity (ex: Loxodon Warhammer, since it was uncommon in MD) Any suggestions on generals that would work well with this? __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!

Sashi, Daughter of Seshiro : D Snake Shaman deck that requires no rare lands? Hell yeah Edit: Oh I hadn't read that your general could be rare. Well there's no challenge in that now is there? Pfff

Kamahl, Fist of Krosa with Elf/mana ramp/token sub-themes would be my first crack at it.

Jedit Ojanen. he lets you play white AND blue commons and uncommons, like mana drain, force of will and loyal retainers.quote: Originally posted by iccarus: So, I'm planning to build a pseudo-peasant EDH as part of a challenge to a friend. depends on your meta, but if graveyard hate doesn't run rampant, then reanimator might be the best bet. You can run teneb, and most of the reanimate type spells are not rare. Of course this all falls to pieces if players in your area are anything like ours and pack tons of GY hate.

Could any members who live in Spain or Japan PM me about my global set. There is a monetary incentive involved for little work on your end.__________________ My sig: just another victim of dallaswilliams.

Dude Elspeth is a sleeper! She'll skyrocket like Eye of Ugin, Thada Adel and SteamFlogger Boss in no time! In one month's time, you'll be on your knees begging him to take your lowly sealed box of Scars to see if you could at least get an Elspeth that was left in his pants during a wash or maybe one that his little brother practiced altering cards on. YOU JUST SEE

GDS2 has begun, sort ofI think this is a great improvement from the GDS1, and I'm looking forward to participating. Going with this option for now, since I have almost everything I need for it already on hand. One friend apparently built Slivers. Aggro seems to be the way to go, since there really are few C/UC sweepers that do more than minimal damage or -x type effects. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!

What do you guys do with unplayable commons/uncommons. It's fun to "draft them" sometimes, but they kinda waste a lot of space..

i toss mine in the garbage. after a month of drafting a set i just open up the pack, check the rare and uncommons and toss the rest. Why even look, i got all the playable commons already.

why would you toss cards in the trash, you could always give them to new players or give them to your local shop... or even better put them in a box and when its full sell them to SCG or on ebay sure you wont get a lot of for bulk un/commons but its better then tossing them.

I toss them too. I offer them to the store or players if I get a bite great if not trash. Don't need more stuff around.

Does anyone know what a "Scheme" card type is? It shows up on gatherer on the card type list whenever I search.-Matt

You could take them to the local children's hospital or a charity. Better than tossing them, imo. quote: Originally posted by Ihateworking: Does anyone know what a "Scheme" card type is? It shows up on gatherer on the card type list whenever I search.-Matt
Yeah, those are the oversized cards used to play Archenemy. "When you set this scheme in motion..." is the templating. Some of the schemes are just flat out busted, particularly if the player is allowed to build his own 20-card scheme deck with doubles of the most powerful schemes...I loved Planechase, especially with EDH, but Archenemy was kind of junk.
