I'll take your word for it. I thought that the Ornithopters were worth playing due to the Steel Overseer, Warlord's Axe and Lich. I dislike enchantments because they never serve me well, at least for drafts.

So I just got a PM from a member offering me his 1x Metalworker for my 5x Elvish Spirit Guide. Was I wrong to counter his offer with my 1x Elvish Spirit Guide for his 1x Metalworker? It's not like he's a noob or anything he has 100+ refs. I just sick of ridiculously lobsided offers is all. __________________
Originally posted by frizzash: are u intrested in beta black loutus ? my cuzin says its rare but i dnt realy like it so ill trade it to you.
It should be 3x Elvish Spirit Guides for 1x Metalworker.

I tend to be right there with you on that unless we're talking about Pacifism or Mind Control. Shiv's Embrace, however, is the rare kind of aura that gets my attention that's for my creatures. It gives +2/+2, which by itself would probably suck, but also provides flying to a color that is low on fliers. And firebreathing to boot. It and Armored Ascension are the only two M11 enchantments for my creatures I'd consider running main. Volcaninc Strength can be good from the side, but I'd only run it main if I was low on playables, but at that point I'm probably going to lose anyway.

So, I have successfully verified that limited ratings can indeed go below 1500.__________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. Remember the Auctions Board!

What is the best way to clean ink marks off of a card? Specifically, cards that have had their entire white border inked.__________________ My sig: just another victim of dallaswilliams.

That's going to be really difficult/impossible. You need a solvent that will remove the new ink, but not the ink of the old card and not eat into the card too much. Any method you use, you really should try to ink a basic land and try it out before even dreaming of touching an inked card. You can try bleach and a cotton swab. I know I've had some limited success removing sharpie marks from other materials this way.

I would definitely try it out on another card before. Bleach/cotton swab sounds good. Here's another preference question: The inked card is an Underground Sea. Should I even attempt it at all, or leave it inked and call it a day? __________________ My sig: just another victim of dallaswilliams.

Definitely! I think it's safe to say that you can't really get that low of a rating in limited without really enjoying playing and having fun. Until the GP, I don't think I ever played a limited event outside of pre/release events, so getting to toy with the new cards is always exciting for me, even if I can't properly evaluate the cards. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. I've never tried to de-ink a card, but with an Underground Sea, that's a pretty risky proposition. If you successfully clean it up, it's still probably going to be noticeable to some degree. If you ruin it in the process... well, that's a pretty big chunk of change. I wouldn't touch it if I were in your shoes. I actually managed to mar a card pretty badly back in the day trying to clean up a white border marked with some stain. Instead of a small spot on the corner, there was a faded spot plus abrasions on the borders.

I wouldn't think cleaning it up would make it worth that much more than it is now since the cleaning efforts may be just as noticeable as the inking already there. On another note, I found out that I had 4 DCI numbers. The one I've been using for the past 2 1/2 years and then the ones I got back at the Stronghold Pre-release in Atlanta, the one I got at the Planeshift Pre-release in Chicago, and the one I used for a couple weeks in Springfield when I faced (and got blown out by) Affinity at two consecutive FNMs in 7 of 8 matches. Interesting things I learned: I went 0-3 at the Apocalypse Pre-release and finished 274th out of 279 people. I somehow participated in a Legacy tournament back in 2005 (which would have been maybe a week or two after I tried getting back into Magic) that had 8 total players. I went W-W-L-L-L, and had the same opponent in rounds 4 and 5?

Maybe it was four rounds, you made the cutoff (probably top 4 or something like that), and then you faced the same guy in top 4?

Yeah, thought about that. Probably what happened but still curious how an 8 person tourney has anything more than 3 rounds any way. quote: Originally posted by TimeBeing:

Already did. That's how this all came out as they wanted me to verify who I was and they had 4 numbers with my name and birthday. Still crazy to think about all the Magic I used to play and virtually none of it was in any actual tournaments.

go go card disadvantage and horrible cards. Also, why copy memnite when you could just copy the throne?

Because it wouldn't cost anything to play more copies of memnite.

Looks like my run of epic fail continues. Apparently when I shifted my Jund deck from Standard to Extended for last night's tournament, I wasn't thinking my land base through quite so much and replaced all of my basic lands except for 1 Mountain with my Extended non-basics. I did not realize this until my first game when I attempted to use my Verdant Catacombs. Lost both of my played rounds 2 games to one. Luckily I got a bye so I didn't go 0-3. Even with the land snafu, Jund shouldn't be losing to 2 Standard decks, mono-white deck revolving around Emeria, the Sky Ruin and Sun Titan to keep playing stuff from the graveyard and the other being a weird sub-par Elves deck that relies on Strength of the Tajuru. Oh well, I should have Prismatic Scapeshift built for the next Extended event in 2 weeks. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. To contrast nderdogs tale of woe, I went 5-0 last night in a 22 person tourney playing my build of Monument Jund.Feels good to get a few more games in there with "the beast" before it rotates. BBE -> Thrynax: You will be missed :*(
