A lot of decks seem underdrafted on MODO MM. (I only play phantom, though, and I've basically 'gone infinite' on phantom single-elim.) Giants is one of them. R/U anything, both storm and control. Thallids and "big green dudes" are almost always open and even pretty awesome despite no deathspore. Half the time I'm not sure what people are playing when you get to the 10th pick and there's still an amrou scout, thallid, glacial ray and pestermite left in the pack.

I ended up in RW giants at FNM last week and it was shockingly better than I expected. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

That's MODO in general....not just MM, but every format. I just got laughed at and called a scrub bc my deck had 3xViashino Firstblade and 3xSkynight Legionnaire as well as 2xBoros Charm, Legion Loyalist, 2xGore-House Chainwalker......oh yea, and the Angelic Skirmisher I got 4th pick -_- but somehow I'm the bad drafter! ....and my deck sucks.

I mostly ignore people talking 100% on modo. It's very rare that you get somebody who (1) speaks and (2) isn't just whining the entire game about my 'luck' after missing a lot of obvious ways to kill me. You very rarely get somebody who can BS all game or something, sadly.

I only start talking when I'm dead drawing against an insane limited deck. Its hard not to laugh when my opponent is curving bombs and I'm stuck on 3 lands

I'll make remarks on mtgo in Momir if something funny happens.I played a guy on Momir once who's drops all countered mine somehow. Like 3x in a row at crucial cmc's against my bombs. Like, I tried to end the game with Flameblast Dragon, but his follow up was Purity. Miss a drop to kill purity, his followup shuts me down, too. I nab a Scourge, his follwup is Sweepers. edit: who sells beat/damaged/waterlogged cards? __________________ Want Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, and other vampire females oddities (crimp miscut misprint sign testprint alters etc)My Saleslist Wants

I will be helping a small local store for the Pre-release. I need advice from the more experienced TOs as to how to go about going it, especially if attendance is within the 8-15 range for any flight. Thanks in advance

I'm accustomed to running one event with a bunch of people rather than multiple ones. If this is your first time working a prerelease, don't play. Will you be doing announcements at the beginning? Email me and we can continue our conversation. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! (So am I)*CKGB

Always double check the land box. Also if seatingisnt assigned, make sure no ones swapping cards. It drives me nuts to have to tell kids not to.

Besides shopping around every once in a while, is any remotely reliable way to find beat/damaged/waterlogged cards? Picked a few hp and 'damaged' cards on the cheap and as a cheap ass i'm pretty excited about it. Other question, what is a relatively competitive deck that's still cheap? For t2 specifically.

Gruul aggro is very cheap and very good. I think I remember seeing a decent budget delver list over at MTGS as well, but can't quite remember if it was izzet or 3-color.

Thanks, i'll try to find the delver list http://imgur.com/dIoNGyk I was on the play with a Whispering Specter, and on the third strike, made him discard his remaining two cards, nailing him down at 5 drops. My other creatures were negligible blockers, except for a 4/3 doublestrike, but that had to take out greater reaper. This is why you focus on dropping mountains until you NEED other colors for activated abilities.
edit: Cytoplast Shambler into Godsire. yay __________________ Want Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, and other vampire females oddities (crimp miscut misprint sign testprint alters etc)My Saleslist Wants

Does this mean too cheap to buy the t2 duals, then yeah pretty much the 2 you mkentioned maybe Mono White Humans, but seems to be just a bad version of Naya Blitz.

Staples in general. I've got the duals for brg, but otherwise I don't want to invest any more into standard. (besides the duals I already have since it's a modern card too anyway)

That's why I choose gruul aggro to run for standard. It was just about the cheapest standard deck I've ever built, since sligh back in the day anyways. I've just slowly saved up, and finally got a couple domri rade and the stomping grounds for it. But it ran really smoothly even without them. Pm me if you'd like a decklist or anything, I've done really well with it Friday nights

There are a lot of buyers out there for shocks right now and as a Canadian buyer I find you have to be a bit more aggressive. I saw plenty of responses on buy lists offering less than I iwas for shocks simply based on the US to US relationship. Also bear in mind playlets of individual shocks are ending slightly higher now than they were two or three weeks ago. Stomping grounds that were ending in the mid to high thirties are now ending in the low forties. Another factor could be a lot of people are holding now that we have seen the bottom of the market. They do not want to sell until they see a rise in value.

as a frequent seller, i sometimes pass up lists when i notice the prices are too low for my liking. I suppose inviting offers from potential sellers would help things, but you'd most likely have to sift through a lot more bad offers. It depends on how much time you have available. I am currently holding extra shocks for possible increases in price, even though I have 2 playsets of each for my team, if that gives you any idea of the mindset of some traders.
