Indeed. BFZ is so absolutely awful that I forgot it existed.

When I'm at work on Friday afternoon and the option is make more money or play magic cards, with BFZ I've started choosing to make more money. Lol.

BFZ draft is great, tons of fun. Picking up another couple of boxes for the playgroup this week so we can draft more.

I'd also like to know what anyone likes about this format. It's hot garbage at best. I wasn't that big of a fan the last time Magic ventured into Zendikar...this is worse. God help us all if it goes downhill next set too like it did with WW/ROE.

I hope they don't screw up Innistrad like they did BFZ.

I remember that BZF fat packs were the new craze when it came out. My wal-mart has a bunch at $45 after taxes and it hasn't moved for a couple of weeks. Should I pick them up? Or has it been confirmed that it was just a hype train?

No hype. Just people wanting the land brick, and I think that demand has now been satisfied. Also, they confirmed the next fatpack (oath) will also have full art lands.

WotC is in the business of ****ing things up, and business is good. Edit: So ermmm...Merfolk is done, save for any new cards that come out. I've got the last three Arcbound Ravagers I needed for Affinity coming in. Infect is done as much as I can justify until there's a fetchland reprint. Old school stuff like ProsBloom and G/U Threshold are done. I'll be sitting on just under $300 worth of Pucapoints here in a few days. Not sure if I should just sit on them for now, build something else, or get something fancy with them like a Beta Sol Ring or something. I'd like to get some Goblin Guides, but I'm holding out for a reprint on those too. I'm thinking maybe Trix or Necro or something else old. Not too sure right now.

-Draft that rewards synergy over raw power (Origins was so super boring that way). -There are a number of cards that fit into more than one archetype nicely. -Devoid can play control or agro depending on your choices. -Awaken is a great keyword to play with, some difficult decisions during game play (the best choice is not always obvious). We have fun with it. Our group hasn't had this much fun since triple Khans.

It's pretty interesting. You touch on a lot of things in a positive light that are/have negatives for me. Maybe this block just isn't for me. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. We don't know games. We can't read minds. Odd, I disagree with both of these. -If you read open colors, you're at the mercy of card availability for the synergies for whatever colors you get stuck in. You're also punished for attempting to play outside the box that wizard built for the synergies. -I dislike awaken giving every color haste creatures. White and blue shouldn't get 4/4 haste dudes. I'd much prefer awaken spells target tapped lands.

That could very well be. I really hated DTK draft, personally, and like I said above Origins bored me to death. But KTK, INN, M13, RTR and ROE are all formats that I love to bits. Shout out to M15 for being solid as well. I enjoy that they create different types of draft formats. If they did the same thing every time it would get pretty stale. quote: Originally posted by caquaa: Odd, I disagree with both of these.-If you read open colors, you're at the mercy of card availability for the synergies for whatever colors you get stuck in. I feel like this is a set very similar to ROE draft, in which the reward was very high for a synergistic deck. You correctly identify the right card for your deck and are rewarded with a strong deck. This, to me, is very different than identifying the best card in your color(s). You are always at the mercy of variance in a draft. But I think with the right choices here you can mitigate that variance to a greater degree than other sets (like Origins) that depend completely on luck/raw card power. quote: Originally posted by caquaa: -I dislike awaken giving every color haste creatures. I have really enjoyed that angle for the UW deck. Most UW decks are pretty straightforward and predictable, but the Awaken spells add a really intriguing variable to the mix. I enjoy playing against it and it forces me to deploy a different strategy later int he game vs the UW player. I like this format, but I can see why not everyone would.

I, for one, don't like the amount of removal. I've had several games end because one player can't get anything to stick.ROE was fun because of RAWR HUGE DUDES. In this format, huge dudes are mostly a trap because of all of the efficient removal.

All of his listing have been removed. They were all for duals, power, etc. that listed them as new/mint cards...but in the fine print indicated they were all proxies and not the real thing. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.
