Against my better judgment, I'm going to start shipping cheaper stuff in a PWE. I'd like advice from any veterans who have been doing this the correct way.I don't want to deal with any chance of insufficient postage or sorting machine disasters at all, although I understand a lot of people get away with ignoring these things. after weighing everything (1 toploader, 1 teamset bag, envelope, piece of paper) it looks like I can get 9 cards in the envelope without going over 1 ounce. If i'm correct, anything under 1 ounce is supposed to require $0.70 in postage and anything over 1 ounce is 0.91 which would require 2 stamps. Before I ship a single card this way, I just want to make sure I have all this info right. Is there anything I missed here?

Don't send PWE unless you want to donate cards to liars and are OK eating the loss.

You know you are in for a rough draft when you are in the losers bracket and opponent goes turn 2 Dragonlord's Servant, turn 3 Thunderbreak Regent, turn 4 Dragonlord Ojutai, turn 5 Palace Siege.

PWE is a bad idea. Bubble envelope with tracking runs about $2.

Ya, no pwe. too many things become lost both by liars and legit lost. sorry. again that's why i rarely trade these days and when i do it has to be worth the value in lost shipping, otherwise it's easier to buy what i want and sell off my extra__________________ Back in my day you could get a soda for a quarter and an underground sea for a Hamilton.

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-nowThat link will get you discounted shipping through Paypal. You can send a bubble envelope up to 3 ounces for $1.93, with delivery confirmation included. 3 ounces is a lot of cards plus a pair of toploaders to sandwich them. Bubble envelopes and toploaders can be bought cheaply in large lots on eBay, or you can just re-use the ones you get.

New duel deck announced to get us excited for fall. Zendikar vs Eldrazihttp://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/arcana/announcing-duel-de cks-zendikar-vs-eldrazi-2015-05-06 Speculation: The left half of the set symbol looks a lot like the zendikar symbol. I wouldn't be surprised if the right half is part of the symbol for one of the Battle for Zendikar sets where Zendikar loses much like Mirrodin lost to New Phyrexia.

I've sent tons in PWEs and never had a problem. Toploader, cards in or taped to front, whole thing taped securely in the middle of a tri-folded sheet of paper, dropped in envelope with width the size of the sheet of the tri-folded paper to keep it from moving around. Tape the ends and seams of the envelope with transparent packing tape (the wide difficult to tear without scissors kind) and label it nonmachinable on the outside, front and back (stamp + $0.21 up to 1 oz).Anything up to $50-100 (depending on the trade and how I feel that day), for me, gets sent in a PWE and I've never had a problem. Edit: if you're at all worried, tape the entire envelope several times around with the heavy duty 2-3 inch wide transparent packing tape. That, coupled with 'nonmachinable,' and it's virtually impossible to mysteriously rip open in the mail or get destroyed by sorting machines (which it won't go through). Almost no mail actually gets 'lost' if it's addressed properly. Some takes a little more time to arrive than typical, but very little gets lost. Whether it is packed in a bubble mailer or nonmachinable PWE also has no impact on the envelope's ability to become lost.

I'm sending in PWE for orders under $3.00 on various sites to stay competitive.I'd rather pay 70 cents for the stamp + 0.02 for the windowed envelope than 0.13 for the bubble mailer + 1.93 for the shipping (1.33 difference) There's a fairly low chance that someone will try to rip me off for 3.00 worth of merchandise, and there's no way to sell a 1.00 card if I require 2.25 in shipping costs.

I generally don't mail anything under $10. Feels like I'm wasting my time.

MM2 spoilers with 82 cards and... Waxmane Baku and Thief of Hope. Thief was playable in Ghost Dad but Baku was only any good in draft. Presumably Tallowisp will be back as well.Does Wiz have some compulsion to force us to play Kamigawa cards? Maybe they are trying to see if the audience will accept the Return to Kamigawa that Maro's audience so craves (except because it's Kamigawa it would be "Kamigawa Gaiden" or "Kamigawa e no Modori" or whatver.)

Slightly on and off topic - but Kamigawa Cube was one of the most fun times I've ever had playing Magic. U/B Control + Soul Shift + the artifact that lets you steal the top card of their library and play it.

Kamigawa was a good draft format before they ruined it with Betrayers and (especially) Saviors. But still, outside of some of the rares it was a weak, bad block.

I would have timed out and lost my pick as my brain tried to process that. Have you had success with Profound Journey? I never got the card to shine; it's usually 7 mana for a couple of weenies.

Yeah, I just stared at it for a while. You can maybe understand it if someone got disconnected or opened a foil Dragonlord Ojutai or a really really new player. But the picks were coming fast and 3rd pick! I ended running the Profound Journey just to see how it did (my first time with it). Same for me, never did anything. I did however run a Myth Realized and that was better than I expected. I had a few rebound spells which helped.

Did an MM2 draft tonight. Thumbing through pack two I hit the rare and it's a Fulminator Mage (pack one was Inexorable Tide) and I make a brief sigh that at least I'll come away with something decent. Then I hit the foil and it's a goyf. My pulse doubled.Split the finals with BR bloodthirst. It was a good thing we split to, since my opponent rolled over me with a tokens deck in some fun games we played. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. For US shippers, remember that USPS pricing is changing on May 31. It doesn't affect letters/non-machinable letters but it does affect first class packages and all international packages (priority, express, and first class)

Didn't it use to be $35 or something?

Yes, but Wizards made some financial decisions that means TOs have to absorb more of the costs associated with running and staffing a GP. Primarily, the elimination of judge packets as compensation. They are having to pay more to make sure they can get quality judges to staff the events. You're also seeing GPs offer other "freebies" as incentives to attend. Exclusive playmats, deckboxes, etc. Those are being built into the cost as well. There's also just the fact that the cost of running a GP has just continued to climb. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

God I wish I kept that gp promo jitte. Best attendance promo I ever got. It was really a trophy to me until it became unusable in every format I play.
