You might have to trigger some kind of cut scene before it shows up. When in doubt, follow the yellow destination for a bit, and then check back your mission target location afterwards.

So, going back in time, does anyone here still play Age of Empires 2?

Found it, the map was just off....I can't CP or Gil farm yet because my levels are still so low, only at level 3s for most of my guys in their 3 jobs...what were you at the start Gran Pulse?

I was at around level 4 when I entered Grand Pulse. Currently, I am about to max my 3rd job.

I try to fight whatever comes across my path while doing missions, and the CP just racks up by itself.

Once you get the levels, on Gran Pulse there is a place with A) a save Point B) a Behemoth you can sneak up on, and C) a behemoth already engaged with a giant wolf, all within sight of each other. Great place for CP farming.

That one is a decent farm spot (Located in the Northern side of the map, right before you enter the cave.)

You get around 6,600 CP from killing them, and it takes less than 30 sec to kill both.

wow the new maps in BO are huge! Kinda seems like they abandoned their "anti-camping" stance too with the number of upper floors, and rooms with only 1 entry way.

<- is officially fed up with with BFBC2 (PC) and the high number of hackers that neither EA or (PUNKBUSTERDOESNTWORK) don't care to deal about. I Emailed EA, got my money back (all of it down to the tax.) And now i have no games to play ... until Diablo 3 and Duke'Nukem finally arrive.

P.s. BFBC2 has more hacks/cheats then any other game I've ever played including but not limited to: Diablo, Diablo 2, Halo: PC, Halo PC CE, Counter Strike, Counter Strike: Source, Red Faction, and about a dozen more I can't remember since its been so long.

Moral of the story: PunkBuster never works after 1 day after its "update".

I am level 47 in bad company 2. My playtime likely ranges in 400 or so hours. I have encountered literally 3 hackers during this time. I play on ATF Frag em & Bag Em, which is well moderated. Finding a few servers like this is the key to an enjoyable experience if you have trouble with hackers. Also I call bull**** on EA giving you your money back because you "emailed them" about a "massive amount of hackers". Punkbuster usually suffers from being too good and unintentionally banning legit players than letting cheaters slip through the cracks.

You won't notice most hackers because they use hacks that modify the graphics driver, not the game. Texturehack and some wallhacks do that. And some people that use hacks don't use them to the full extent (so they don't get banned by admins, but still have "to-good" scores. The easiest and most reliable way to see if someone has hack of some sort is to see how many trees they can shoot through; OR if they consistently get a 2.0+KDR, and are not a recon. The game was designed (cant find source at the moment) so that even good players would only be able to get a 1-2 kdr.

Also: Merchant Credit on Card Purchase

I used EA's EULA against them to get a full refund; and I sent multiple video proof and pictures of hackers in 5 games I played the same day.

Seriously, if you are encountering this many hackers, you must have been excellent at picking ****ty servers. I never have this problem. I have far more playtime than you (probably). Also, ever heard of spotting? I hear that makes it pretty easy to shoot through trees/wood buildings etc. You are either greatly exaggerating the number of hackers you encounter or you're the type of player that love to call "HAX!!1!" when someone is doing particularly well (always flattering). Srsly, BC2 is pretty good with hackers.

Also I'm curious as to what sort of "video/picture" proof you provided, since the killcam doesn't show their action before they killed you unlike COD, and there is no theater mode.

I play hardcore, there is no spotting.

As for the video proof, I switched teams, got on his squad, and then ghosted him while he was jumping in the air and spinning around, snaping from headshot to headshot.

or just took a pic of his 10k+ score; and 70+/0-10 KDR; as a medic/assault/engineer. I am not an idiot; I have been playing games long enough to learn that to catch people I need to know what they use, and how those work. Hence why I created an aimbot and wallhack for Halo CE and CS way back, I know what to look for. Also, just see whats popular on YouTube; thats what you look for.

Texturehack is easy to spot, most users go 2-3 kdr with it; and you can tell when they are in front of you, and you and your teammate are behind good brush cover; and trees, and even more rocks...and yet, he manages to lob a nade, toss a 40mm and shoot you, and the other three enemies that ran past didn't even see you. Maybe it was a wallhack, but my points still stand. Neither texturehack nor some wallhacks can be detected by PB, most aimboters don't get banned,, multihack is on the rise and theres even a new hack for piloting helicopters

I don't get the hacking in FPS games... do they actually look at their score and have any sense of pride? It is completely artificial.

In Black ops, you can dashboard, making the server not tally your KD for the game you were in, but it still counts it as a loss. I barely play black ops with teams at all, unless my brother, or Ryan are on and playing. I will also not join a game where my team is being dominated, with enemy chopper gunners and dogs out (which counts as a loss), and I still have above 1.0 win loss. It's the players that have a KD of 3-4+ with a win loss of 0.25 that are pretty obviously abusing the whole stat tracking system.

There are SO many bad black ops players on 360 too, and unfortunately they always seem to make their way onto my team. When I am the only positive player on my team, and 2nd and 3rd have kill deaths in the game of under .25, i'll eat the loss and quit (not dashboard).

I guess it's like playing doom 2 with godmode and infinite ammo on.... i would think it would lose its appeal really really fast.

From my understanding a lot of the enjoyment comes from trolling people while you hack. Most hackers that are blatent about it like to shove it in as many faces as they can before they get kicked to another server.

To those that use hacks more reservedly, often the justification is that "oh, I just don't have as much time to get good" or other sorts of justifications.

Just finished Dead Rising 2 in Overtime with the S ending. Nice finish...annoying controls response and hit recognition. I clip through enemies so much...

That said, I did enjoy the game and could see myself buying it to get all the endings and mess around with all the combo cards. I used the snowball gun for the first time last night, and the electrified rake. The Super BFG is a sweet gun and homage to Doom. The psychopaths are all a lot of fun to fight and interesting... I definitely will play again. There's just so much to this game.

My gamefly queue is unfortunately short and, due to the popularity of the games on it, I haven't had a new game shipped despite returning my other game, Bioshock 2, over a week ago. I did really like that game, too. It's a rare time when I play 4 consecutive games that I enjoy... DR2, Bioshock 2, the Gears of War 3 beta and DJ Hero 2 (the last of which I traded in the absolutely horrible Call of Duty: Black Ops to acquire) are all great games and, despite their respective flaws, they give me hope for the industry.

Today, I am renewing my RuneScape membership. I have two 99 skills (attack and defense), and two more 94+ skills (HP and Magic). Tuesday, Brink comes out. It is the first game I've pre-ordered since Soul Calibur 2 on GameCube, and I am quite excited for it. My GT is Master Rauen if any of you guys find it exciting (as I do).

Runescape, really? It's such a money sink, although not as much as WoW. But they're both just as much time sinks, though. I really feel like you're wasting your time :/

Yes! Well, I did for a bit since I don't have my 360 with me in China, but I've been playing the demo for Football Manager 2011 instead recently (trying to decide whether to buy it or not...). I'm not very good at AoE2. I can dominate on normal and win on hard if my computer teammates aren't completely terrible, but that's never a guarantee. I like playing as the Teutons, Mongols, and Chinese. I used to like the Persians, but the computer actually uses spearmen/pikemen on hard and so the War Elephants end up being worthless. Have you gotten back into AoE2 recently?

A money sink? Really? Have you ever done the actual math on that? Because, fortunately for you...I have!

If you assume cost per entertainment (where entertainment is measured in hours), a $12 movie (assuming no popcorn and a 2-hour movie) is $6 an hour. That's as much as runescape costs for a month. So assuming I play runescape for 10 hours a week- which is an extremely conservative estimate when I'm active on the game, it's $6/40, or 15 cents an hour. WoW, EVE and other similar pay per month games follow roughly the same pattern. I play them more than RS but they cost more, so it's ~20-25 cents per hour of entertainment.

To throw more perspective at those numbers, consider full-release games. I am extraordinarily picky, and games are generally getting shorter as more companies focus on DLC and multiplayer. As a result, I average 10 hours playing any given full-release game. Full-release games cost $60 new; $60/10 hours = $6 per hour of entertainment. A $15 DLC adding 5 more hours of entertainment makes it $75/15 = $5 per hour. So, playing an MMO is actually more cost-efficient than other forms of entertainment, not less.

As for the time sink thing...er, that's what MMOs are. You get what you pay for. That's what I was specifically looking for. I like to keep three types of games handy at all times:
1) A slow-paced, time sink game that, when I get depressed or don't have any particular thing to do in a given day, I can throw time into. Usually this is filled by an MMORPG for me; Bethesda's single player RPGs are also very good at this. I spent 400 hours playing Morrowind and 100 hours on Oblivion. This slot opened up when I quit EVE recently; I'm filling it with RS.
2) A fast-paced game that I can use to relieve stress and play with a couple friends. There really haven't been that many games in this category I've liked recently, and even less that I could enjoy solo. Recent entries into this category include Modern Warfare 2, DC Universe Online (although an MMO, its fast-paced combat and streamlined questing put it squarely in the fast games category), the Gears 3 beta and Bad Company 2.
3) A party game that I can play with my immediate friends, especially rayragnarok and thror. This is increasingly becoming a board game; previously, it would be classics like Perfect Dark. We still play Smash Bros. Melee and, of course, magic when we get together, so this category is always filled.

I always find it weird when people call MMOs "money sinks" because they're actually relatively cheaper than other forms of entertainment. There are people in the world who will spend $50 to play three hours of golf then scoff at paying $15 for sixty hours of entertainment in a month... I don't understand. Hell, you pay $5-6 for a four-hour FNM. How is an MMO worse than that?

If you only look at it in terms of entertainment length for money spent, then it's a great deal. It's when you start to consider the other costs (decreased social life etc) commonly associated with heavy MMO play that the phrase truly applies, imo.

I mean, it's not like MMOs hide the fact that they're time sinks. When you go into one you're expecting it to eat away time and you know to go elsewhere if that's not what you want.

I would say that's actually a benefit in the case of WoW. As Yahtzee (of Zero Punctuation fame) noted, WoW seems less like a structured game and more like a chat room where you happen to kill monsters while discussing last night's sports scores. Not everyone does it, but used properly it can enhance, not detract from, a social life. I know my friends are planning to play Knights of the Old Republic when it comes out. We all have mics and Skype/Teamspeak, so we'll be able to raid together.

Also, I usually play games for years. I still play old Bungie games like Myth II and Marathon online. And Starcraft 1 once in a while. I probably paid $100 total for SC and it's expansion when it came out. $100 is, what, a bit more than six months of WoW (if it's $15/mo)? And then after that I don't have the game anymore. Or anything I "accomplished" therein. For Starcraft that would mean I'd have had to have paid something like $2400 by now.

Gets worse when you think about those NES games I had in the '90s and still own now and play once a year or something.
