ugh... for some reason, whether it was crysis 2, BO, or Halo last night, my connection was superb, but if i joined a party with anyone, it was terrible. In BO, I went from 40 viable games per search with just me, to 2 viable games per search, in a party.... was kinda odd.

So, my time with both Gears of War (the first one) and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) has come to an end.I had hoped to play GoW's multiplayer with friends, as I usually find shooters generally, and 3rd person shooters specifically, boring in multi without a friend. Despite constantly claiming how superior GoW1 is to GoW2, a couple friends would not play it with me. So, I didn't touch it. I did, however, bring Eric (Rayragnarok) over to play some co-op campaign as we did with GoW2. We got so bored of it that we quit after the underground spider boss that falls into the radioactive goo. I feel I was correct in not playing this. If a game cannot stand on its single player its multi player doesn't deserve the light of day. Twilight Princess marks the first time I can admit to being annoyed over not taking Malroth's advice. Twilight Princess utilizes the wiimote in an awkward way. This is the first game in which I've had to use the control stick on the nunchuck, and I admit, I hate it. Having to use the wiimote to swing the sword but the nunchuck to do the spinning slash is awkward and counter-intuitive. And, as Malroth predicted, 1st person aiming with the Wiimote is the worst thing I've had to do since shooting 5 feet away from enemies in Call of Duty: Black Ops to make my hits register. I'm used to the Zelda model of "Go into town, clear path to temple, clear temple", but I'm not used to having to do the same thing in every area. Besides the fact that the twilight bugs break the game's own rules regarding twilight beings interacting with light beings, having to hunt them all down in each area is tedious and repetitive. I quit playing before I even finished hunting them all down in Kakarako. I have a new internet connection, upgrading from 3 Mb/s DSL to 18 Mb/s cable modem, so I'm eager to play some multiplayer games. Conveniently, I just bought Homefront. I...am really confused about how I feel about this game. On one hand, so many games simply break down to "which team can camp hardest, get a tank, then camp the enemy spawn?" It also takes an incredibly long time playing to level up and get the goodies you need to play decently (you don't even get the ACR, the first "real" gun, until about an hour into playing...). The matchmaking, despite three patches, is still broken as well. On the other hand, there can be some genuinely fun strategic battles in the game. I feel like the battle of team of snipers vs team of rushers is fair when one team brings out a Parrot (a UAV which marks people similar to hitting select when you see someone in BC2) and marks every sniper on a hill. There are other similar battles- a tank against a team of players with EMP grenades and RPGs; helicopters against players with EMP launchers; the Parrot pilot vs the sniper who wants to keep the Parrot out of the sky so he can stay comfy in his camping spot; the Vector rushers using flashbangs vs the ACR assault soldiers wielding 4 frags. The strategy is on a different level from BC2, and I almost consider comparisons unfair. It's a game that has a steep learning curve, and even when you get to the top of it, you may not like what you find looking over the edge. My Gamefly "trying out games I originally dismissed but decided to come back to" queue is almost at an end. There are two games left on it, one of which is being shipped. Bioshock is a game I grew irritated with when the lack of slots for plasmids left me unable to enter a door in the first level (i took Telekinesis, dropping Fireball, then came across a door with ice all over it....) and abandoned it; I hope to give it a fair shot this time. The other game being shipped, which should arrive tomorrow, is Dead Rising 2. Yahtzee's only real complaint against this game is that the text is too small; I think it will be manageable. I did not play the first one, but know enough about the story to enjoy it. I look forward to finding out how these two games play! __________________ <Malroth> saito is the guy who made trand retroactively right about merfolk =( ---- PlasteredDragon: I am a liberal, and I am not insane.

Dead Rising 2 is amusing. I wish an assault rifle was more effective than a baseball bat... but it's still enjoyable

Am I the only one that plays Dead Rising 2 and wants to completely ignore the cases and Katey, instead just going around building boss new weapons and beating on zombies? Also, Big Daddies :angry face:

started playing 3rd birthday... it is kinda weird sharing some similarities with mind jack and Sourcecode - basically Aya goes back in time in a machine and she can take over anyone on the fly in that world hoping to change the future...

Are you playing BioShock 1? If so, later on Big Daddies just become repetitive. "Spam Explosive weapons, Armor piercing rounds, they die." well... The new mote+nunchuk set is like 50$ so used maybe 25$the classic controllers new like 20$ so 2 used 20$ wii comes with a set of mote and nunchuk used maybe 100$ - a little more if it isnt too old. For the games the only really worth anything is SSB Brawl but if you have to get them all maybe 100 is pushing it especially if you don't want to play them all... You could try offering 250 and see how it goes?

I can't convince myself to go back to Bioshock. I'm in the second (?) level, fighting the third Big Daddy the game actually has you fight. I just can't convince myself to go back to it. The Big Daddy fights are too frustrating.Meanwhile, I went back to Dead Rising 2. I just ignored the cases for an hour or two and then restarted the story. The insight gained into how the game works, plus the extra inventory slots and combo codes, made the game make sense. Now I'm having a new problem...it seems like the game is missing inputs when i try to swing my weapon when a zombie is about to attack. I'm on case 6-2 and intend to finish it so I can get the last game on my queue.

I been playing bo since the game released, and I play only on pc so my comments would be based on pc. Bo is generally easier to level for sure. No competetive gaming for the games here so I just do various scrims with sime team of players here. I reached 15th pres early January while I took months to reach 9th on mw2. What I didnt like about mw2 is that iwnet totally sucks on pc. I have no idea why dedicateds were taken out. Hacking was so commong in mw2 that it got boring sometimes. Iwnet didnt do anything to stop hackers and vac is uselss. So you get the usual share of aimbotters and wallers in the game. Weapons are also relatively overpowered compared to bo. Other than hacks, oma tubing just ****es me off. In my area for pc, games with a full party oma tubing are common, to the point where it gets irratating. Some maps are fairly imbalanced as well. Top of my head were karachi and terminal in domination. The spawn traps were extremely hard to get out off when done properly in those maps. The only thing that was decent were the graphics and being able to change classes and killstreaks between games, not possible on bo for pc. Bo on pc just sucked at the start. The game had terrible stutters but was patched fairly quickly. Dedicated servers are alright but gameservers is terrible. Months after the game release there are no dedicated support for players from various regions. Im currently playing at 140 or so ping against Japanese playets at 40 or so ping. The advantage is clearly there. You could tell that those player acknowledge the advantage and use it to their advantage. I also find a huge amount of campers in the game. Im playing in dedicateds where several players are regulars. I saw a good amount of players who never once played the objective and just camped at the same exact spot in the map every game. Weapons are more balanced, and the game has a lot less hackers than on mw2 which I'd say is a big thing for gameplay. Killstreaks that dont stack and tubes being a lot weaker are good to. Also treyarch currently placed more attention on bo than iw on mw2. More patches for bo in 2 months than mw2 had so far. Bo currently is still suprrior than mw2 on pc. Mw2 would have been good if iw actually paid attention to the game. They gave me and my friends the impression that they arent doing anything to solve the problems. When bo had some issues with the servers for a day, i went back to try out mw2 again. In the few games i had, i only died from oma tubers, commando knifers, umps and hackers. Amazing gameplay experience. Edit: Dont mind my grammer and spelling. I typed it on my phone.

Just a heads up, anyone looking for an ONZA tournament edition for regular retail, can order them online from Frys.com They seem to have a few more left. Considering amazon has them for over 100 now, and ebay they regularly sell for 80+, getting them at 49.96 is pretty good.

Yes. I consider Oblivion a vastly inferior game to Morrowind, although it's still better than most other RPGs out there. I couldn't get into Bioshock but I forgot to take Bioshock 2 off my Gamefly queue, so that's what I've got now. Hopefully it will be better...
