Anyone else still play World at War? Aside from the occasional MP40 freaks and Tanks I'm still really enjoying it.

So I just bought a PS3. Any game suggestions?(I don't really have the time for RPGs) (It came with Killzone 3 and I bought GTA 4.)

Little Big Planet 2 and Killzone 3 are the only PS3 exclusives I'm interested in. Give LBP2 a shot.

uncharted 1 +2. very very well written piece of action game. Also just beat DA2... gotta say the ending is kinda meh but the sequel should be a lot of fun storywise though.

Agreed, they really set up future DLC for it, or the sequel. I wonder if they will continue along the story line. I was hoping that morrigan would be in the storyline

homefront multiplayer = all of the worst aspects of black ops, medal of honor, and bad company 2 put together. It is also one of those games that needs an "online pass" to level past 5 in online multiplayer. That means if you rent it, only level 5, and if you buy it second hand, you still have to buy the online pass. If you borrow it from a friend, you're equally screwed.

Care to elaborate? I was considering buying this for PC (so the online pass or whatever won't be an issue) to tide me over until Battlefield 3 multiplayer. The single player looks pretty interesting but if the multiplayer portion isn't worth it then I won't consider it.

Same, I was considering picking it up next week but if the multiplayer is that bad I'll just stick with black ops. __________________ "Where free unions and collective bargaining are forbidden, freedom is lost." -- Ronald Reagan

We got 14x Crysis 2 for XBOX360 and 12x for PS3.... is it going to be THAT good? The only game that we will have more copies than that this year is the next Zelda (36x copies for the Wii).Edit: I run a video store but the videogames are bought by someone else since I'm not a big gamer :P

I played 3 games online before i turned it off, and I rented it to try it out before i bought it. The good: -large maps, with up to 32 person games of 16 on 16 -lots of customization The bad: -hit detection is abysmal. I fired over 10 sniper rounds at a guy who was visible from the waste up behind a concrete barrier in the middle of the road with no effect. He was stationary too, and there is no sway or holding your breath with snipers in this one. I also fired every round in my SMG and pistol into a guy running up a hill at me to no effect. No hit markers or anything.. he just knifed me. -not a fan of the grainy graphics -weapons definitely aren't balanced. If you think COD is bad for that, be prepared for a whole different world with this one. -it's easy to be a bush wookie just like BC2 etc -The worst thing i found though, was that due to the way their version of "killstreaks" work, there is ALWAYS a helicopter up in the air with several tanks driving around If you prefer MOH and BC2 way more than MW2 and Black ops, give this game a try, as you might enjoy it. If you're the opposite though, and like me you didn't enjoy BC2 or MOH, then this game isn't for you.

Yeah, I'm undecided between getting Homefront or getting Pokemon Black/White...gonna give Homefront a spin at a friend's house tomorrow night, so I can see for myself. But I don't much care for shoddy hit detection. :/

homefront's single player was pretty awful too. the story was kinda lame.and u guys should play Yakuza 4 - it is a great game. The story is well told and characters are great. The story basically involves 4 characters this time and how their stories tie into the main plot.

The story to Homefront seems awesome to me. A lot of the people I know who play CoD and are high prestige just got bored of it, and they play Homefront now to the exclusion of other FPS games.I don't think the hit detection is awful so much, as it just takes a ton of bullets to kill someone. The multiplayer servers are broken but they're actively fixing it (unlike Treyarch, who still haven't fixed BO matchmaking). I'm definitely going to pick up homefront. In other news, I got Just Cause 2 from Gamefly. I had previously rented and disliked it, but Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation on escapistmagazine.com) said it was his favorite game of 2010 so I decided to give it another try. Within 5 minutes of putting the game in, I was reminded why I dislike it. The controls are not responsive at all, the grapple hook is glitchy, the game is too huge and sparse, and combat is jerky and not fun at all. It will be returned today. The rest of my Gamefly queue is games that I originally disliked, but wanted to give a second chance to. First on its way: Call of Duty 4. The single-player to this game is meh, as I strongly dislike the concept of enemies that respawn infinitely until you pass X spot. In multi, I tried playing for two hours, and every game I went into was people spawn nading and shooting through walls into the spawn. I was turned off. I'm hoping that, with friends to play with who are veterans of the game, these factors won't get in the way.

you really liked Homefront's story? I understand they try to tell story of a smaller group of people in resistance whatnot but still it is pretty insignificant playing through the game knowing what they were trying to do

Has anyone played the new Goldeneye OO7? I was a MEGA-HUGE fan of the one for N64 (I put more time in it than some toddlers are old I am just wondering if it's actually like the N64 version or is it just a bastardization of the old game? Because from what I had heard from around, was that it was basically gonna be a tribute to the old game. In case you younger kiddies never played it (or the n64 for that matter) It was pretty much the most awesome game, let alone FPS game of its time. Going 4 players on Multiplayer... after school for hours at a time, was amazing! I still want to shoot a scientist in the foot, then the hand, then the head as he runs away =) I always seems to durf the missions, because back then it was just so much fun to screw around and kill the civvies =) Yeah, this was kind-of around the time where we played SanFransisco Rush with all the anti-gravity, super jump, no time limit cheats. But I would have to say, that for its time, Goldeneye 007 for the n64 was far more amazing than all the CoD games where when they came out, because it (007) was doing something that had never been effectively done before. Goldeneye 007 is the grandfather of all modern FPS games.

Believe it or not, I played Goldeneye when I was about 4 years old. It was before I went to a "real" school and was in an unofficial daycare (staying at the house of the woman whose daughter babysat me). Somewhat unexpectedly, considering the only children in the house were three 16-year-old girls, they had an N64 with Goldeneye on it. I can't remember how many times I played that game. Good times. Related: Yes, I played a first person shooter when I was still an impressionable young child, and look at that! I'm not a psychopath. Suck it Jack Thompson.

Played it and beaten it. It's the same story but "re-imagined." It's set in today's society, and the only character that's the same is M. Bond is voiced and visualized like Craig, and Natalya, Valentine, and Oromov are all different. Instead of fighting the russians you travel all across the world. It's a solid game, but if you know the original story/game, you'll be a little ****ed. The multiplayer is a little convoluted. You have to level up before you can unlock the better weapons/accessories. So you have to grind out the first 10 levels with the stock weapons while other players are cruising along at level 50. It's worth it though. Easily a top-10 wii game.

If it makes you feel any older, flop, I actually have a poster from San Francisco Rush 2049 taped to my closet door still. Oh, and I first played Goldeneye when I was ~7-8. Since then I've bough and sold a PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, multiple generations of the Gameboy, and gotten a new computer. The only thing that's stayed constant in my life was the good old N64 and the small library of games I have for it, which includes Goldeneye. So suffice it to say, with all of it's old and dated mechanics and controls, it's still a fun trip down memory lane. Especially with cheats Oh, and did I mention I'm 17? (18 in May.) __________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! @ tranderas1- it's shoddy hit detection. I am pretty sure I can tell the difference between bullets "having no effect" like I said and lots of hit markers 2- it takes barely anything to kill someone in homefront. I kept dying in 2-3 assault rifle shots from med to long range 3- the story is predictable and covered so much before it's impossible for them to surprise you. Just replace Americans with Jews and Koreans with Nazis and poof you have you homebrew resistance story
