for the 100th post I will ask,....

Anyone here gonna get a new (2011) baseball game for the PS3 here next week?

I am seriously thinking about getting The Show '11

I have never played any baseball on the current-Gen systems, so I hope I am making the right choice! (over WSB 2k11)

I think I am, so w/e... anyone else here play baseball?

I always played 2k, but The Show has had a better engine the past few years. So I'd probably stick with The Show. It's really become a cookie cutter game and I stopped buying them a few years ago. I use to anticipate their release but not anymore. Hockey is the only sports game I wait for anymor as it's the only game that they try to incorporate something new each year to make the game feel different. Maybe it's because NHL is made by EA Sports Canada and not EA Sports US who pumps out the same lame version of NCAA/Madden every year.

Hack & Slash is a referrence to the gameplay. H&S game examples are like Devil May Cry, Dragon Age Origins, God of War, etc etc. The game is pretty linear w/ smal puzzles but most of the time your mashing buttons doing combs and beating bad guys senseless.

playing some radiant historia - it is a pretty fresh RPG for DS - basically you have 2 story lines branching from your decisions and you can hop between them to affect the other (like the merchant died in this time period, you go back to other story to save the merchant etc.).

For those of you who have more experience with MMORPGs and other online games:

Does reporting people for bad behavior actually yield any results?

During a game, some guy was really hurting our team, so I gave general advice without criticizing him, things like "Don't try to directly attack a melee character who is a few levels above you with a non-melee character. You're going to lose that fight every time and just give him more experience."

He told me to {censored} his {censored} and I could go {censored} myself.

After he died a few more times suiciding in the same way, I reminded him again that if he waited for me, we'd have a better chance and he told me "I'm going to rip off your {censored} through your {censored} and {censored}."

I'm sure you can imagine what a frustrated, stupid teenager online would say even though I've managed to censor myself.

I reported him for his behavior, noting it as a threat (although, obviously he doesn't really have the means to physically harm me), but I have no idea if there's any real consequences to him. Anyone seen or felt the wrath of backlash for bad behavior online?

My usual response for this sort of behavior (provided the offender's voice is sufficiently high in pitch):

"Justin Bieber, you play [console]??"

Odds are if they're young enough to still think that swearing makes them cool, they're also young enough to think that hating on the latest Disney product makes them cool too. Yes, it is fighting fire with fire.

This doesn't follow whatever topic...but I recently(finally) got a gamecube. I bought a game years ago (Kuririn Squash) and knew I had to buy a GC eventually....years later now I do. The question I have is....do you have any other suggestions for party games for the GC?

Also, if you had to rank the Mario Party games for the GC, how would you rank them?

Mario Kart > Mario Party _

That said, Mario Party 6 is a decent Mario Party entry.

ARGH! Trying to do my last commentary for how to domination: objective role, and it's night impossible. If i go solo, i seem to end up on a team of morons where there isn't any point of trying to take flags, and when i get a decent team together the opposing team quits 9 times out of 10! Hell, on saturday i was playing with Foreplay from team Envyus and people were quitting as soon as they saw he was in the game! Sooooo frustrating.

I decided one of us should be an adult, and clearly it's not going to be that {censored} {censored} little {censored}-ing piece of {censored} {censored}, so it had to be me. I just ignored him the rest of the time. Fortunately, my other teammate and I were good enough to carry him and still pull out a win.

Remember, folks - don't feed the online trolls. They're just {censored} attention-hungry {censored} who probably {censored} the {censored} from {censored} Lindsay Lohan. They have all the social skills of a stuck-up {censored} scruffy {censored} {censored} and if they met a girl IRL, they'd probably think they're {censored}-ing awesome and see no problem telling her, "Hey, {censored}, do you wanna {censored} my {censored} and then {censored} {censored}?" or try to troll in real life, "{censored} or get the {censored} out!"

I like to think that natural selection will eventually lead these guys to insult the wrong guy who has a leather wallet with Bad {censored} Mother {censored} on it, but then I forget that such people don't feel a need to do real socializing out in the daylight.

i still cant believe how some people finished it already (guess early leak or store employees?)

The game is very fast paced in combat and very hack and slashy now which could be good/bad i guess. The city is huge compared to the ones in the original but since supposedly you only stay in this one city it has to be eh? It took me a while to figure out who i want to play with and picked Rogue. Warrior is too bland and i like more in your face than standing back firing spells at guys you can barely see.

I know some complaints people have are the game is too linear and story is very boring and not as engaging as DAO.

Yea it got leaked. I am rocking the rouge too. Dual weapons are awesome! My biggest complaints are the fact that you can only customize your main characters armor. Also unless I am mistaken I can't find any rogue ability that lets you dual wield full-sized swords, only daggers

I played Two Worlds II off a renewed GameFly account, and all I can say is, "Holy menu system, Batman!" It's crazy how many menus you have to go through for something as simple as combat. I had hoped this would be my huge expansive RPG fix until Star Wars: The Old Republic releases in the spring, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim coming in November, but I was so turned off by the ridiculous menu system that I stopped playing about an hour in. I will continue my search...

In the meantime, the aforementioned GameFly did bring a gem to my door, in the form of Dead Space 2. I was prepared to give this game 8.5 out of 10 for being more fun than average, and incredibly satisfying...until I had a game-ending glitch in my only save file in chapter 13. So I give it 7.5/10 for FIX YOUR DAMN GAME BEFORE RELEASE. Regardless of the glitch, the game was so fun I found myself taking another run just to see what I had missed. I'm at that point now (in Chapter 13 where you have the battery hanging in the pile of goop that you need to use to power the door; in the glitch that battery didn't appear, making progress impossible) and can't wait to go forward. The game's short, though, so unless you plan to do a Zealot -> Hardcore -> Hand Cannon run, don't bother buying it. I'm just not a good enough gamer for a Hardcore run. I played a Zealot run and got to the first Brute and crashed and burned.

GameFly has mailed Crackdown 2, which is like GTA meets Halo meets a level-up system from what I can tell. You're a super soldier trying to fight crime in a massive city with tons of stuff to do, and you're rewarded with XP and new items based on how you kill enemies, exploring, doing races etc. There's a lot to do, and I'm excited to play it.

Yeah i dont know why they turned ME2 armor system but i hear you could change their armor later? It really isn't that much more customization difficulty really.. I am glad they have the Maker's sigh so you can recustomize for cheap ( 1 sovereign).

Also the bonus weapons aren't *that* great... i am playing Dragon Age Legends and got 4/5 rewards.. hopefully i can get the final one tonight...

So, I am in the mood for a RPG fest and choose Pokemon as the game of choice. Several questions:

1) Is there anyone system that can play all generations of the game or do I need to do different ones for each?

2) Is there anyway to get all pokemon in a game that doesn't require having 2 versions of the game?

Pretty sure DS is THE system for like 90% of the pokemon games. 2 - no otherwise there's no point for having 2 versions . You have to trade with other folks for the ultra rare pokemons...

Play as a melee class... it makes the game FAR FAR more straight forward.

I don't want straightforward, I just don't want to have to go through a bloody menu system every time I switch what I'm doing.

I returned the game to GameFly to get Crackdown 2. I've had the game for a day, and it's possibly the most fun I've had in a 360 game. It feels like I'm playing a super-powered version of GTA3, or maybe a less vehicle-focused version of Just Cause 2. After unlocking the rocket launcher, i immediately killed some civvies by accident. This caused the peacekeepers to send people after me. I killed them, then they started sending tanks. Shooting at tanks from your own side is at least as fun as going after the enemies.

So yeah, I recommend it.

yaku, I have sent in complaints about sexual and racist user names and indeed have seen that Xbox/microsoft made them change it.
Hell, my friend had the word Cancer in his and they made him change it.
