I was aiming at Vanek + Green. Thought it would have been insane picks this late...Sad to see Green so late. I remember using my first pick once for him.. that was like 2-3 years ago

Yeah, my pick was actually between Vanek and Lucic. Sad to see Looch go to another team but some sacrifices must be made for the greater good!

Crosby is still uncertain, according to our local medias. Does this mean that Daner will be disadvantaged in our league? Jokes aside, I hope he comes back quickly, because he is a great player. But I also hope he takes all his time to recover, so we can been Dane with more ease! Robert

You didn't make a pick, I'll attribute that to baby-mania.

Can't believe my bad luck. As I was so happy to pick Webber, Ogre takes it away!!

I'm sorry dude, figured it was a solid choice, but would've preferred Letang. Like to have someone that I can watch and see score points on the home team, but seems like my boy Zach is running the table on PIT picks! It's all good though Z The real question is who do you take from here? It's starting to get kinda thin though still a fair amount of picks left. .05, Jesse __________________ "call the hospital now" "I'm gonna kill you" inspiring words from Mino Fazio

Still a lot of great players there. We still have another snake round of good players, i believe. After that, its going to be 2nd-3rd liners

Buff didn't play RW at all with the Thrashers but he still had 60 Points as a Dman which is fantastic! __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Tavares and Buff were two of the players that I was deliberating between and then one more also. Not gonna say it again, but to get all the players that I wanted I realize that I would have had to had the next 17 picks after round two consecutively! .02, Jesse __________________ "call the hospital now" "I'm gonna kill you" inspiring words from Mino Fazio

My guess is they will mark him as D if he played no games at RW last year. But they might leave it just for the pure fact that it makes him a much more valuable player in fantasy. I think it's a good pick regardless. More shots than a lot of forwards is pretty sweet. This round has been really interesting to watch. Lots of choices have caught me off guard and I'm looking forward to see how 7 turns out. Like Omega, I also feel there is another snake of top tier guys still available.

OK guys, i need to pick Keepers in my other pool for the 19th of August. Lots of trades going on right now. We each keep 4 guys and theres 10 teams. So 40 guys will be kept. I think Fluery, Doughty and Kopitar are being let go. So theres good players around in the first 2 roudns. I also traded my 1st round pick last year in order to make a push and ended up finishing second . I wanted a first round pick for this years upcoming draft. With that said, I just traded Getzlaf and Marleau(wasnt a keeper for me) for a 1st rd pick (2nd overall) and a 3rd rd pick. Who i have left now is: Datsyuk Mike Green D Sedin Now with Getzlaf gone, my last keeper is a toss-up between: Ward Broduer Sharp I also was just offered (after my getzlaf trade), His Giroux and 1st rd pick (6th overall) for my D Sedin and my 3rd rd pick. Should i even consider that? I like Giroux to improve this year to at least 80 points and i can't see the Sedins being Art Ross winners again, i have them in around 90 points. I dont know what to do. What do you guys think?

Well here is what I would do. Keep Ward. If 40 guys are gone the next thing people are going to turn to is probably a 2nd goalie, if not a first. So keep 1 goalie. Next I'd hope that my that 2nd overall pick lands me Fleury. So you are pretty much set on goaltending. After that I'd trade Sedin for Giroux and hopefully grab Patrick Sharp with that 6th overall pick....unless there is someone STRICKLY better, kinda hard to imagine. I think Giroux is gonna have a big year as well, and I don't think Daniel Sedin will match his point total from last year...but he will still have a great year. However with the trades and keeping Ward you could potentially end up with Ward, Fleury, Giroux, Sharp...that's 2 #1 gaolies, #1 RW and a #1-2 C/LW. That's pretty good don't you think? Plus Mike Green and Pavel Datsyuk? This coudl all be yours within the first round. So far I like the sound of that team.
let's look at your potential team C Pavel Datsyuk - 30g 50a +30 RW Claude Giroux - 25g 60a +20 LW Patrick Sharp - 35g 35a +/- even 5 SHG 250+ SOG D Mike Green - 20g 35a +25 G Marc-Andre Fleury - 45w 2.40gaa or less .915%+ 3 SO G Cam Ward - 40w 2.50gaa or less .920%+ 5 SO All that before the end of the first round? I'll take it.

Tim THomas is available. Do i take him? I'm not exactly comfortable with him. I'm pretty sure Fleury is going to be taken with the first overall pick.

I wouldn't be as happy with Thomas as I would with Fleury....but I still think you take Thomas. If it's a keeper league you obviously want Fleury but you have Ward as a young stud goalie. Thomas will help you win this year probably numbers wise on par with Fleury if not better. Thomas also doesn't have a lot of mileage on his body like normal NHL goalies his age. I think he's still good for at least another 3-4 years. Into the future, you want Fleury. If you already have a guy for the future Thomas is just as good on a year to year basis, possibly better.

Yup...damn, nice pick on Heatley. I was hoping very much that nobody would take him. He was who I really wanted for that next pick I have early in the 7th from ogre. Dual winger position and I believe he's going to play his ass off to try and get out of Minnesota. I'd be suprised if come the trade deadline he isn't dealt to a contender. If not he's still the top guy on a line that probably consists of Him, Mikko Koivu, and well I wont say his name because he hasn't been taken yet. Still, that's a damn good line if not as good as the one he played on in SJ. I think he went back to his lazy ways in SJ after some success...I think the trade was a wakeup call and if he ever has any hope to get back on a contender then he needs to show he wants in in Minnesota.Awesome pick. Ass.

I was looking into quality winger, and thought I was better off with Tavares because of lack of winger

I disagree, Disagree, he's not an amazing pick at this point. He plays like he doesn't care. Players have come back from this before and had amazing seasons to try and get sent where they want but I don't think he will. Devin Setoguchi probably gained more from leaving then Heatly since he will be on that top line.

On the Heatley pick: it's a risk but one that I would be willing to take simply due to his LW/RW status. My 6th rounder came down to Heatley or Ward. My feeling was that Heatley had a better chance of sticking around into the 7th because so many people I know think like Ian. Although you never know, maybe this will be a wake up call for Heatley and he will actually try a bit harder/refine his two-way game. Chiodos: I agree with daner on what you should do. Trade Sedin for Giroux and the first rounder, keep Ward and grab Fleury and Sharp if they are available. Let us know how it turns out and how deep your league is. Sounds interesting .

I DISAGREE with you! Every time Heatley has ever been traded he's had a great first year with his new team. While I agree with the second sentence of your first point I think you have to semi-agree with my point. Your second paragraph is Heatley in a nutshell. He will have a 35+g 80+ point season and either play his way onto a contender....or he will be stuck in Minnesota for next season were he will drop to 20+g and 50+p and bitch his way onto a contender....either way he's not staying in Minnesota.

Sorry for the double post but this deserves it's own..... STOP POSTING ON THE DRAFT BOARD UNLESS IT'S A PICK OR TRADE!
Thanks.
