While I agree with the second sentence of your first point I think you have to semi-agree with my point. Your second paragraph is Heatley in a nutshell. He will have a 35+g 80+ point season and either play his way onto a contender....or he will be stuck in Minnesota for next season were he will drop to 20+g and 50+p and bitch his way onto a contender....either way he's not staying in Minnesota.
I think he's getting too old for those shenanigans but I do agree he COULD do it,
I thinkt its more a 70% for him cracking 25-25 , and 30% of him doing a 35-40/40. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

How's this one . That's how I would feel. Two more until me . edit: Interesting that you would choose Reimer over some of the other available, more established Gs that are still kicking around. I'm not sure that I'd be that confident in him just yet. But it's worth a shot.

Another dilemma. In a different pool, we also keep 4 players and there's 10 total teams. We draft 3C, 2Lw, 2RW, 4D, 2 G, 5B. My keepers are Datsyuk, Henrik and Daniel Sedin, Stamkos. Problem is, 3 of those are Centers and Center is deepest position. I have Fleury and Thomas as goalies, but i can't keep them over any of those forwards. I have two 1st rd picks but theyre the 8th and 9th picks. I was offered Giroux and 1st (2nd overall) for stamkos or either Kane or bobby ryan and a 1st (7th overall) for him. Im considering it b/c i would change a keeper at C to a winger and then be able to draft a goalie. Ward, Fleury, Thomas, Kipper, Broduer will be there. I really don't want to trade Stamkos, i think he'll break 100 this year, but i'm not getting offers for my other players. What do you guys think?

Don't trade stamkos.Dane you are taking a big risk because Reimer could easily become a time share, but i like him and think he's very solid. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

I'm going to go a different route. TRADE STAMKOS! Yes, you heard em right. He's a great player, one of the best....but he's not clutch. I've watched him closely over the past few seasons. When the season comes to an end or it's coming to an end he does his disappearing act better than anyone else I know. He's great from October-March...but when fantasy playoffs start, or the NHL playoffs start he goes awol. Datsyuk, and the Sedin twins don't slow down(until you hit the actual Stanley Cup Finals but that's for all of Vancouver). In all honesty I'd trade for any of those wingers + a 1st rounder. He's the deal...if you are already trading for Giroux in one league I wouldn't eve rsuggest putting all your eggs in one basket. Which means I'd probably nail down Patrick Kane and the 7th pick for Stamkos. Stamkos is gonna get 90-100 pts, but Henrik Sedin will too, and Kane is good for 80+ as is Giroux and or Bobby Ryan. I'd make the trade Stamkos for Kane + 7th overall, keep the Sedin Twins and dump Datsyuk(also bc you have him in the other league). That starts you off Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Patrick Kane, and 2 1st round picks? Seems fine to me. C, LW, RW and all are top 5 in their respective categories. I would take Kane over Ryan as well even though I like Bobby Ryan better than Kane only bc you have arguably the best LW already and RW is much more shallow a spot to fill. EDIT: had you not have had Daneil Sedin and let's say you had a different top RW to start with then I'd trade for Bobby Ryan. I think if I don't have either a LW or RW I'm taking Ryan before Kane...but you already have the best LW(possibly) in Daniel Sedin and RW is much more shallow.....but I just think Bobby Ryan is better value with the Goals and SOG than Kane. Kane is a good ppg player but Ryan is going to score more goals and get more shots which is what you generally want from your top wingers.

@WeedIan, while it is true that I was aiming Cammalleri, I'm sure if I would have picked him with my next two picks. Maybe yes, maybe no, depending on who will be picked when the snake comes to me.@Daner : Toronto Goalie! Now, that's a man with balls!

Ya, i want to make a move here, as i don't want 3 centers. Also, I already have two 1st rd picks, (8th and 9th) doing this trade would give me a third, either 2nd or 7th. Im going to try to talk him into giving me his 2nd overall pick + kane or ryan. I know Stamkos is a stud, but i got great keepers already and this extra pick would help me address other areas i need, mainly goalies. Hard to let Stammer go though.

Makes it easier when you have a better C in Henrik Sedin. BTW...how on earth do you get into these kind of keeper leagues? The money league I've actually won the last two years I don't have the choice between guys like Stamkos or Sedin to keep....wtf? I almost refuse to believe there are multiple leagues out there were people are this bad, and if there really is I want in damnit!

Lol. I drafted Stamkos in the first round and for whatever reason, my friends dislike the Sedins. I got Daniel at 14th overall in the 2nd round and henrik went 2 picks later. I got Getzlaf in the 3rd and zetterberg in the 4th. There's no PIM's in the pool, but SOG. I traded for Perry for someone who didn't really want him. Can't remember who exactly, but it was a 2 for 1, i didn't give up anyone good really. I picked up Thomas from free agency. come middle of the season, Getzlaf was hurt and i had too many great keepers. I traded getz/perry to a guy who needed a 4th keeper for henrik sedin and his 1st. I then traded zetterberg and my 3rd for datsyuk(favourite player) and vokoun.

I still would pick Stamkos #2, he shoots and ton and scores a ton, powerplay points, etc.I think Bernek has gone over his time, so whoever is next can pick.

Hey Matt, Shron took Loui Eriksson in round 5. You gotta pick again .edit: should other drafters hold off until matt has a chance to amend his pick or does he have to own his mistake? I don't remember how we did it last year.

He has to make a switch within a reasonable amount of time.

So what are your thoughts? Strengthen my already strong position, or pick where I'm lacking?
