dead kennedys: flesh reaver's ability/effect is a triggered event.. meaning when the damage is actually dealt that is when it will trigger and go on the stack.. but by then.. your opponent is already dead since state based effects have already been checked and he's at 0... which is a condition for a loss.Palinchron-: the wording of will is somewhere above... or last page.. pending if this makes it go onto page 11... here is the wording from Eureka: EUREKA 2GG Sorcery Each player may put an artifact, creature, enchantment, or land card from his or her hand into play. Players take turns playing cards from their hands until no one wants to put another card into play. If a spell has an X in its casting cost, X is 0. as you see.. it specifically says from your hand.. your graveyard is not part of your hand.. just the will's effect may let you play/cast stuff as if they WERE in your hand. © __________________ Reference Page: www.magictraders.com/reflists/coolio.html DCI Certified Level I Judge Judge Certification & Training Oracle Card Reference D'Angelo Rulings Summary MTG Rules Got Magic:The Gathering Questions? I'll make this easier on coolio, since he obviously doesn't want to go into the excruciatingly annoying interaction between Opalescence and Humility. Here's the wording from D'Angelo:If one Opalescence and Humility are in play, then Opalescense turns Humility into a 4/4 creature, then Humility turns itself into a 1/1 creature with no abilities. Yes, this is counter-intuitive since Humility no longer has the ability to remove abilities, but this is the outcome. The timing rules for the interaction of continuous effects say you apply them in this order and you never loop back to see if that application would change things. [D'Angelo 99/05/01] See Rule T.8.9 and Rule T.8.10. If new creatures or enchantments come into play, you apply Opalescense and Humility in order, so they come into play as 1/1 with no abilities. In other words, Humility keeps working to a certain extent.

A few questions:1. Can you use rebel searching or bribery/rootwater thief to get creatures with protection from blue and white, respectively? 2. If Parallax Wave and Opalescence are both in play, what happens if Parallax Wave removes itself from the game? Is it gone forever or does it come back with 5 new fading counters? 3. If I have Repercussion and Ivory Mask in play, and one of my creatures is damaged, am I still damaged?

Ok ... saw this in Deck Discussions, and told the guy to come here, but haven't seen it and it's just bugging me ...What would happen in this situation Turn 1: I play a Peat Bog Turn 2: I play a Forest. Then I play Animate Land on my opponent's (let's call him Mike, and say he plays Blue) Island. After this, I tap my Peat Bog, use one for a Dark Ritual, and then use my 4 mana for an Eradicate on Mike's animated Island. Is Mike going to have to forfeit the game, because he no longer has any way to cast ANYTHING? I know this counts on drawing 4-5 cards, but it just seems really -- I guess the best word is unsportsmanlike ... ANYway ... __________________ Denizens of Rath had never seen the moon before. Motio: All his islands are removed from the game so he can't do anything anymore. It's really a mean combo and I think they should put an errata on Eradicate saying that it can't remove more than 4 cards from the game this way.[This message has been edited by Kworb (edited 05-19-2000).]

iakae: while the section u pulled does explain how they should work.. in actuality its a bit different pending which came into play first.. humility.. or opalesence.. slightly different things happen.. pain in the butt to think about.. lotta if's and such.. but as is.. I leave that be with D'Angelo's. (mainly if the other enchantments are also 1/1.. or are they */* equal to their casting cost.. since u are applying things in order.. if humility came into play first.. I recall being told the enchants will have */* as opposed to humility coming into play after opalesence, where the other enchantments will be 1/1. I'll have to dbl check.. )NecroMonitor: 1. yes and yes.. protection isnt in effect when the card is in the library.. its the ability of cards (mainly creatures) in play. 2. wave would remove itself permanately from the game. 3. wording on repercussion is as follows: REPERCUSSION 1RR Enchantment Whenever a creature is dealt damage, Repercussion deals that much damage to that creature's controller. note: its not a targetted effect.. therefore if your creature is damaged.. you still take damage from repercussion. Motio: its a totally legitimate combo.. they can concede any time they wish.. its not unsportsmanlike.. unless u wanna consider all combos to be unsportsmanlike. ©

Hey ppl around my area are starting to say that in response of Lin Sivvi dying, you can search for a another Sivvi, and the second one still is in play. Is this true.__________________ "Sticks and stones break my bones, but whips and chains excite me."

I have Opalescence, Lifeline, and two rnadom enchantments (lets use Parallax Tide and Wave) in play. Both the Tide and the Wave are creatures and both ar 4/4. If I sacrifice one to Faith Healer, would I get it back at the end of turn? Or are they no longer creatures when they hit the graveyard? What happens when my opponent tries to Disenchant my Hidden Gibbons? __________________ I know to whom I owe the most loyalty, and I see him in the mirror every day.

If I have a Lifeline in play and I don't pay Deranged Hermit's echo, it keeps coming back creating 4 new squirrel tokens, right?

DarkDamion: well see in response to lin dying.. however she dies.. damage soon to be dealt.. destruction spell.. whatever.. it's on the stack.. once it resolves, lin would die.. so to search with lin before she leaves.. u'd have to add search to the stack.. NOW.. once you search for another lin.. it comes into play.. note: the original lin's ability has just resolved, you check to see if there is already a legend of the same name when the second lin comes into play.. there is.. so the second one dies.purplepat: since you have lure on 2 creatures.. and both say all defenders must block this creature.. your opponent gets to decide who blocks who. Silvertine: this is D'Angelo's ruling It brings the card back even if the card was a creature only due to a spell or ability. It comes back as if newly cast, however. [WotC Rules Team 98/10/18] This tells you that if its a creature when it left play, it will be brought back by lifeline. 2. well.. the card has been errata'd to say when opponent plays an instant.. meaning at time of declaration of the disenchant.. gibbons is a creature.. disenchant would fizzle (countered) because when it resolves, gibbons is no longer an enchantment. Kworb: yes. ©

Do you know where I can go to find out print run sizes for expansions? How many press sheets were run for each commonality? Also, your signature seems to have become abbreviated.

A few questions.1. Will diplomatic immunity bury other enchantments on that creature? 2. Are phasing and banding still in effect? Yes? No? If not, what is the errata on them? Thanks __________________ -Guenhwyvar Member of G.A.B Blue Team

Now, I know that you said no questions regarding Humility and Opalescence, but this doesn't really have anything to do with the interaction. It's a somewhat seperate issue.Say that I have an Opalescence, Humility, and Parallax Tide in play. Before the Humility takes effect, I remove my opponent's lands using the Tide. Now, once everything has taken effect (let's say that the Humility takes precendence), my Tide is now a 1/1 with no abilities. Does that take out the Tide's fading as well? If it does, then you could concievably remove all of your opponent's lands from the game permanently. Sorry to have that whole Opalescence/Humility thing in my question, but I think that you'll agree that it's not what you meant when you said no questions about the interaction (after all, I stated how the interaction resolved in my question). Call me a dumb blond if you must, but hey, I'm going to build a deck around it if it works. Thanks for your help in advance. [This message has been edited by TemptingElf (edited 05-20-2000).]

Hey Coolio, this has really grown into a really *itchin thread! Anywayz, I have a question. I have a Clone and I play it on my Krakilin. My friends say that "when you Clone something, the +1/+1 counters are like enchantments so they can't be cloned." So will my clone be 0/0 or will he be able to clone the counters???Thx bunches Coolio! __________________ "As it moved, the wurm's spines gathered up bits of flowstone, which took the shapes of dead villagers' heads. Orinn: uh.. perhaps try the wizards web site? I really dont know.. the magic encyclopedia should have that kind of info.. as for the signature.. no.. I just havent used it much.. takes up space on the board... tho I use one per page for easy access to the links in the signature.guenhwyvar: 1. no. 2. yes.. tho they are not in the current sets. there's a section in the rules on how banding and phasing works.. well phasing is explain on the mirage homepage. TemptingElf: honestly.. I dont know the answer to your question.. I just sent an email to the judges listserv.. I'll post the answer here when I get it. Raker: PHYREXIAN NEGATOR 2B Creature - Horror 5/5 Trample Whenever Phyrexian Negator is dealt damage, sacrifice a permanent for each 1 damage dealt to it. you have to sac as much permanents as it was dealt damage.. so if it was dealt 10.. you have to sac 10. yes you can sac land. Zuberi: thanks.. as for your question.. under the rules section.. E.4 - Copy Cards ... E.4.3 - When the copy card is cast and it resolves, it is in all ways a copy. This means that anything which happens when it resolves or when it enters play will happen. For example, a copy of a Tetravus will enter play with three counters. And a copy of a Nevinyrral's Disk will enter play tapped. [WotC Rules Team 94/07/27] hopes that answers your question. Raker: yes.. when a player leaves a game.. they take all they own with them. © __________________ Reference Page: www.magictraders.com/reflists/coolio.html DCI Certified Level I Judge Judge Certification & Training Oracle Card Reference D'Angelo Rulings Summary MTG Rules Got Magic:The Gathering Questions? Thanks for taking the time to do that, Coolio. I asked Iakae the answer, and he just sort of stared at me in horror and mumbled something about Humility should never have been printed because Wizards was just asking for problems.

Jigglypuff62166: 3 things... 1. u cant use adjectives... ie - basic 2. you cant use two or more words.. only 1 3. you cant name something that has any significance in the game.. ie - land, opponent, artifacts, etc. you can however name legends.. I wouldnt know why tho.© __________________ Reference Page: www.magictraders.com/reflists/coolio.html DCI Certified Level I Judge Judge Certification & Training Oracle Card Reference D'Angelo Rulings Summary MTG Rules Got Magic:The Gathering Questions?
