1)Anyone who thinks this isn't as bad as, if not worse than, other disasters such as Waco, Oaklahoma City, Pearl Harbor, or the Titanic is out of their mind. Yes the death count does put it on that list. The fact that these people worked for a less than perfect government, DOES NOT make them any less of a victim. They deserve to be mourned just as much as the next. 2)To the person who wrote something along the lines of "One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic"...in a sense it is right, but at the same time it couldn't be more wrong. The Holocaust was not just a statistic (this is not on the same level as the Holocaust, but I'm using it to draw a comparison)...it was a million (or however many died) tragedies...what happened today...it is not just a statistic...it is thousands of tragedies... 3)Once again, I'm going to state again that I cannot fathom forgetting or not caring arout the deaths of tens of thousands and the pain and suffering of hundred of thousands more. 4)This act can be carried out by just about anyone...it does not require an entire government to simultaneous hijack a number of planes (it could be a governemnt, it could be a terrorist group)...it takes some people willing to die, some guns, and a good amount of planning. It also doesn't require prior flying experience...it helps...but is not in the least required...they did not need to land or anything difficult...they needed to adjust themselves so as to collide with a rather large building...granted I've nevber flown a plane before, but to me it just doesn't seem to hard. Well, thats what's on my mind right now...perhaps more later. ~Adam __________________ AIM: Rizzo111111 ICQ: 117794093 My Website! You've been hit by You've been struck by a smooth criminal.

Confirmed reports from FoxNews that the hijackers on at least one plane were only armed with cardboard box cutters and knives. NO guns.__________________ 2nd in refs in SC 3rd ranked poster in SC54 and counting on my Yavimaya Barbarian collection...

Thats my point don't you see, things are not valued in morals and eithics, it's based on how many people are dead. This will become even bigger. Wanna know why? It is because it has been a VERY SLOW SUMMER with the media only having Gary Condit and the Shark attacks (which are down from last year) to feed on, they will use this and i believe take it out of proportion. --- The person that you mentioned, was me. I stated that the death of one is a tragedy and that the death of millions is just a statistic. It was, but I just caled the number, my cousin was in the WTC as a tourist, she was there for a modeling job in NY, and IMO she is not a statistic, if only he had some one who died in such a pointless act. Only a coward would do such a thing and he should rot in hell, along with some other people who will remain nameless.-Dan

I don't think it should be closed. It discusses some good points. Maybe you should aim some smackage at their heads.

I can't beleive something this serious can be "discussed" with this sort of immaturity. Hey Dan, you're calling him names, and saying his comments are pointless, but weren't you the one bragging about how you started this wonderful thread and about how this was the fastest replied-to thread in the history of motl? I think so. Also, you should not swear like that around here, it will only get this thread closed faster. I think it's riioculous the way most people have stated their arguments in this thread. No one is listening to anyone else, and everyone is jumping to conclusions and getting angry with one another. Notice I said most people, because there are some people who have presented themselves well. I'm just dissapointed that I can't take part in a better, more mature discussion about this topic on MOTL. -Jason =w=

I'm not talking about the post in and of itself, I'm talking about the bickering that's been going on. I don't like Type1's comments any more than the next person, but he's got as much right to post his opinion as the next person and until he says something that's definitely in violation of the posting rules, his voice will be heard with everyone else. DanBuroojy, you can think what you want to about Type1's posts, but I'd better not see another outburst like that again. __________________ General Discussion Forum Moderator Please report rules violations!! I was watching the tv, and the news said that before one of the airplanes hit the WTC, a woman had called the airport. She told them one of the seats that one of the men had been in, who was causing trouble. Maybe this will lead to a name soon??

I truly beleive your bickrings and whinings about somebody calling you names is truly miniscule compared to the purpose of this post.__________________ "I am alpha and omega, the beginning, and the end." - Xenogears "To those who know me, I am a seed upon the earth from which all is derived. Are there as many bomb threats everywhere else as there are here? There are about 75 planes on the island of Newfoundland as we speak, and any community holding people and even some surrounding are getting bomb threats by the dozens. I don't fear for my life right now, but the fifth plane is still lurking if I am not mistaken? That could be anywhere... As well, I heard a rumor they took down an unidentified aircraft attempting to enter US airspace in the Yukon... can anyone verify? I just wanna close out by sayin this: Cancer, Aids, Alcoholism, Murder... there are alot more important thing to fight then each other. As bad as this will sound, why can't we all just get along? __________________ "It's OK. They're just elves." "YOU SPOONY BARD!! DIE!!" Maybe we could all take this seriously and have no problems at all, News Flash though many of you know this, the Chiefs of Staff say that they suspect that Osami Bin-ladin is most likely the Mind behind the Terrorist Attack, IMO, these people cant just assume and say that they are 90% sure he is behind it, thats how wars get started, Bombing Afghanastan isnt going to solve anything, get the WHOLE story first. thats my 2 cents.__________________ Im Italics Happy.
