Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony

I can't find the 7th book anywhere. I bought the first two from a used book store, and borrowed the next 4 from the library, but no one has the 7th!

I am currently reading All Quiet On The Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, simply a classic. If I can find it, I am going to watch the 1930 movie after I am done.

I just finished reading a couple of Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta novels, and I'm currently on Richard Preston's The Hot Zone. After I finish that, its off to:

Utopia by Lincoln Child
The Cobra Event by Richard Preston
The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen
Great Expectations for school
1984 for school
Les Miserables also for school

I'd like to get my hands on Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged at some point, too.

I enjoyed Dan Brown's books, however I read them in a different order than when they were published. I read Angels and Demons first, then The Da Vinci Code and finally Digital Fortress. After reading all of them, I found them all quite informative, entertaining (but not really thought provoking) and VERY formulaic.

edit: still learning to use html on here...

re read The Book of Jones by Ralph Steadman. Cool little read. Mostly because I like his artwork, but maybe it's the fact that that he is an artist and not a writer. Something about the transiton.

if anyone doesn't know who Ralph Steadman is he is the one that did the art for "fear and loathing in Las Vegas". Political/Social commentariaist.

going back to reread {i]the antichrist{/i]
soon.

Just started Dune: The Battle of Corrin, the wrap-up of the prequels. Now, I just hope they decide to finish off the original Dune series since they have Frank Herbert's notes on how things should conclude!

They did write it, I'm pretty sure. My dad bought me a new Dune book. I think it's Dune: Crusade of the Machines or something of the sort. He said it was a good book, but it probably won't be as good as the originals.

Nope, that's one of the prequel books that they wrote that takes place 10,000 years before the original Dune. I've been keeping tabs on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson as they write new ones, and they definitely haven't done anything after Chapterhouse: Dune yet. Of course, no one can write like Frank Herbert did, but having a conclusive ending to the whole Dune saga would be nice, to see how Frank Herbert envisioned events wrapping up.

edit: You don't want to read Machine Crusade until after Butlerian Jihad, really. Then you can read Battle of Corrin to complete the Dune Legends series. Other books to look into are House Atreides and House Harkonnen which take place just before the original series and set up the immediate backstory quite nicely.

It's allright. I don't have much time to sit down and read anything too consuming. I'm only like halfway through this one, and I started it in September..:-/
