Angels & Demons by Dan Brown, same guy who did The DaVinci Code. So freaking good so far.

I liked A&D and Da Vinci Code, but the other book, digital fortress, is soooo boring. :/ And his style is getting repetitive as well. Different story, but same story if you catch my drift.

This is the first book I've read of him, I'll pick up DVC once it hits paperback, didn't even know he had another book besides the two...

Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlen.

I loved the first half or so of the book, most of the way done now and I'm still not sure what to make of the second half.

Speaking of Heinlein, I'm almost finished with Starship Troopers again. Love the book. Action fans:

Never Read It! It is nothing like the movie.

People who enjoy interesting political theory: This book is great.

I just felt the need to post that I now read! I've gone from reading nothing to reading almost 10 BIG UP novels within a few months!

Right now I'm reading See How She Dies by Lisa Jackson. It's about this chick who thinks she might be part of this rich family but isn't sure and is trying to find out and there are a bunch of mysteries and stuff. It's pretty cool.

When I went back home, one of the first things I did was chill at this new huge bookstore called Borders. All of my friends who went with me immediately found what they were looking for and sat down in this café dilly and started to read. I went with them and picked up the first book I saw, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Lets just say I got through 40 pages before I had to leave, and before I did I bought the book. I went home, finished it, and read it three more times during break. Its amazing.

Has anyone read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams? How many more books are there to read?

Good stuff...

Wait, you didn't know that I read it too? It's like the bible to me. But you should check out the Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.. the one you read is only a small part of a much larger book.

Just finished Going Postal by Terry Pratchett. He's definitely one of my must-read authors now.

Starting Tanequil by Terry Brooks now. Hopefully it won't be all that much longer before the conclusion of this story arc is published.

Haven't had much time for pleasure reading this past month... too many midterms, papers, and obligations. Nonetheless, I've just recently begun Carol Strickland's The Annotated Mona Lisa: A Crash Course in Art History From Prehistoric to Post-Modern. It's a brilliant book, terribly well done. I know a fair bit already, but there's quite a lot that I don't know, and it does an awfully good job of presenting it. Plus it gives me a better idea of Gloria's world, which is a definite plus.

I wonder if I could get a grant from the government of Canada to study the philosophical implications of European art... it would mean travelling across Europe... studying paintings and sculptures and prints and photographs and architecture... I bet you I could. Stranger causes get grants all the time.

You'll love The Last Continent, that's one of his very best Discworld books. Right now I'm gonna start in one of his other latest books, Night Watch. It's about the Discworld Nightwatch, with Sam Vimes and Carrot and Detritus, my second-favourite discworld subject-- the first one being the wizard's faculty (or the Unseen University) so what can I say? I'm hyped up and I haven't even started it yet :P

Night Watch was my introduction to Pratchett. It was amazing! Probably the only time I've been happy I forgot to tell the Science-Fiction Book Club not to send me their books of the month.

Speaking of The DaVinci Code, I just finished another book by him, Angels & Demons, fantastic read. I look forward to reading TVC once it hits paperback.

Then you'd probably be delighted to hear that the newer books are nothing compared to the really old ones. "Pyramids" and "Guards! Guards!" are classics as well.

@Odd: TVC?

Oops, meant TDC (The DaVinci Code)

Anyway, does anybody know when TDC hits paperback? I figure as long as it's selling well with hardback, they won't put it on paper.

Ahh ok-- I was confused because I thought you meant pocket. I'm not sure yet when it'll be a paperback, but I prefer hardcovers anyway. They sell real cheap on amazon.com and such (I bought TDC hardcover for 13 USD).

I just downloaded the entire unabridged book to my iPod.

I also downloaded the entire unabridged Fountainhead.

(I have LOTS of reading ahead of me.)
