8.5 Tails can be sick as a General, just make sure to have some artifact card draw.

Yeah. Things like Mind's Eye, Solemn Simralcum, and some of the various new cards in MBS can help with that. __________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! Serra Angel Count: 224 Nightmare Count: 95

So there's Memnarch decklists up now that he's legal in EDH.Why do none of them play Mishra's Workshop? 50% of the cards are artifacts in some manner? Fast mana is good, no?

Workshop is expensive. In fact, it probably costs more than most decks do to construct. Being that EDH is more casual than competitive, I can see why people don't want to drop ~250/300 for one card for their deck. Just my .02

Just had a meeting at the local game shop. In about a month, I'll start working Sundays for them, primarily so that I'll have a key to the store and can run FNM without having to worry about whether an employee is willing to stay late off the clock, since the main guy who would stay late is moving away. Better control of Magic plus extra cash to buy cards at employee prices = good times. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. FNM on Sunday? Or is it that now you're an employee you can stay later to keep it all going? __________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! Serra Angel Count: 224 Nightmare Count: 95

QFT. I can't justify spending $100+ on cards for EDH decks. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!

Definitely going Mirran, I love limited but the only cards I am looking for are for my cube. Obviously odds are low I'll open a Thrun or some other card I need for cube, but low odds are better than no odds, plus the prerelease foil for Mirran will definitely go in to the cube. I think the only phyrexian card I need is the pithing needle dude and hes at rare so shouldn't be hard to track down one.

So would you take the needle out or would you keep both in?

Definitely keep both in, needle allows you to hit land abilities/man-lands and the ability is so good in such a diversified format like cube that you want as many needle effects as possible.

Proxies yo. And I have a Workshop thanks to the power of P3K cards I bought for 10 cents back in undergrad.

Depends, are you building for 1 on 1 EDH or for multiplayer? Aggro in multiplayer EDH is about as doable as aggro in regular multiplayer. That is to say it's really really tough if not outright impossible to pull off. Aggro's game plan is to win quickly before the opponent can stabilize. If you try that in multiplayer, you're just not gonna be fast enough to take out more than 2 people (2 if you get REALLY lucky) before everyone else at the table panics and destroys you. __________________ (Humans) are stubborn, self-destructive conformists. I have my own cube that already has Pithing Needle. I'm picking up the Revoker ASAP and they are BOTH going to be in the cube. The two biggest things are that they both shut down equipment and planeswalkers (although shutting down Masticore, Figure of Destiny, and lots of other cards is also nice). Having two is twice as good as one, and give players more outs against these threats. Redundancy is never bad in a format that only allows one-ofs. Savannah Lions, Isamaru, Elite Vanguard, and Student of Warfare are all slightly different, but I run all of them, so that there are as many good one-drops in the cube as possible, making aggro viable and keeping control in check. For similar reasons, I try to play lots of equipment and planeswalkers, but I also try to run lots of answers (I have tons of destroy artifact spells and I've included Pithing Needle and Vampire Hexmage largely because they both can single-handedly shut down troublesome planeswalkers).

You'd be surprised how people get all uppity about proxying cards in their deck. I love doing it personally. __________________ Most References in Massachusetts (Moving pays off I guess.)Support my friend's store: http://www.tabletoparena.com

Once I'm an employee, I'll have a key, and be allowed to stay late on Friday without relying on someone else to hang around for us. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Just don't play with them. And I'm going to make nice proxies ("for personal use only"), or at least ones that aren't written on the back of a plains or something.

Personally I completely hate proxies. I've always been the guy that says you play with the cards you have. Ownership and what not Sure, I can be ok with some reasons to proxy, like Meta testing and what not, but on the whole not a fan, especially in casual formats (like EDH). Plus I hate not being able to read the damn card. Half the time I don't know what they do (stopped playing consistently since Odyssey). Sure, I see a lot of newer cards at pre-releases and what not, but it's hard trying to keep track of a card with a few abilities (like a planeswalker) when trying to play./end rant __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [189] in OH-IO (Catching up to xion_black) 2nd in Posts [5522] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val)
