How does priority occur with it? AKA which player chooses first? If it's your opponent, I still think that gives you the upper hand since you choose second.

So, I just saw THIS yesterday.702.91. Miracle 702.91a Miracle is a static ability linked to a triggered ability (see rule 603.10). "Miracle [cost]" means "You may reveal this card from your hand as you draw it if it's the first card you've drawn this turn. When you reveal this card this way, you may cast it by paying [cost] rather than its mana cost." 702.91b If a player chooses to reveal a card using its miracle ability, he or she plays with that card revealed until that card leaves his or her hand, that ability resolves, or that ability otherwise leaves the stack. I still expect dozens of judge calls between the pre-release weekend and the first few weeks of FNM, when players claim that they drew a Miracle card, but didn't reveal it before putting it into their hands.

Vexing Devil R Creature - Devil When Vexing Devil enters the battlefield, any opponent may have it deal 4 damage to him or her. If a player does, sacrifice Vexing Devil. 4/3~Descendant's Path 2G Enchantment At the beginning of your upkeep, reveal the top card of your library. If it's a creature card that shares a creature type with a creature you control, you can cast this card without paying its mana cost. Otherwise, put it at the bottom of your library.

Crappy card, might be fun with Mistform Ultimus though.

MTG Salvation. The red 1-drop looks very playable, especially for modern.

Vexing Devil is cool. I know cards that give your opponent a choice usually aren't nearly as good as they look at first (see Breaking Point), but this is one of those where either choice works, especially in something like Legacy Burn. I like it.

If it sees standard play, it's going to be in a heartless summoming deck. This guy with Havengul Lich and the Priest of Urabrask is infinite mana and infinite card draw.

Just watched 3 different Vexing Devil auctions (singles, not playsets) end on eBay. Two ended at $36 and one ended at $39. Wow. Pre-sale prices are insane.

Does anybody know why they changed the prerelease card from mythic to just regular rare?

I don't have the exact quote, but they changed it because it made whatever Mythic they chose feel... not so mythic. Overall, the value of this set looks decent. Some popular rares so far, a few chase mythics, plenty for the EDH crowd, some playable rares, and at least 2 cards generating legacy-playability discussion.

What's the prerelease card, and what was it before they changed it? quote: Originally posted by Nyarlathotep333: Just watched 3 different Vexing Devil auctions (singles, not playsets) end on eBay. Two ended at $36 and one ended at $39. Wow. Pre-sale prices are insane.
Check the BIN's. Price is a little to a lot more reasonable. I bought a playset for ~$37. New Planeswalker: Tamiyo, the Moon Sage 3UU Planeswalker - Tamiyo +1: Tap target permanent. It doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. -2: Draw a card for each tapped creature target player controls. -8: You get an emblem with "You have no maximum hand size" and "Whenever a card is put into your graveyard from anywhere, you may return it to your hand." 4

I agree. Doesn't do enough to protect itself IMO. As for the ultimate, takes a while to get there (one more turn than Venser). __________________ -Schmitty T-92nd in Refs [273] on MOTL (tied with Raven Fire) 3rd in Refs [273] in OH-IO (2 behind Odie) 2nd in Posts [7364] in OH-IO (only 800 behind Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

Buy It Now auctions. Instead of a bid auction, you can just outright buy the card if you pay the BIN price.

Here is a more detail analysis of my personal opinion on this PW. She costs more than 4 to cast, which is definitely not on the efficient side of things. First ability allows her to somewhat protect herself, but unfortunately, the current meta is either dominated by decks with creatures you can't target, or decks with crap load of creatures in play that tapping one wouldn't help. Second ability puts the player in a really awkward position. You either have to completely rely on your opponent's board position to draw card(s), or you have to build around her draw ability and play with a lot of creatures that tap sideways, which also means you aren't going to be able to protect her from counter attacks, and she will at best be a Tidings, if not worst. To make things from bad to worst, it is a -2 ability. Her ultimate is cute and gimmicky, however, unlike Koth or Jace, it doesn't win you the game by itself, and relies on the player having the right card at the right situation for it to be useful. Conclusion: She is perfect for casual players who wants to live the infinite combo dream.
