So Canadians are getting like the Americans, yeah?

1. I will not ship outside North America unless it is worth while.
If you only trade in the US you might as well end it right here it will save time for both of us

Reads like a severe(ly short-sighted) limitation on regional trading scope to me.

I don't see the problem with the 5% method at all.

It's a subtle way of saying he prefers larger deals, and for all intents and purposes, the smaller deals already have shipping factored into the prices offered. There's nothing wrong with that, especially considering the number of people who offer roughly competitive prices on their buylists and say that shipping is already included.

It also gives you as a seller a choice.

I'd probably sell a fair number of cards to him if he wasn't basically only looking for Mythics.

Why is that, other than the fact that you're outside the US? I mean, I don't see why Canada<->US is significantly better than any other international trade, but there are pretty damn good reasons for doing US<->US only. The cost of tracking is absurd and I bet you that the # of "lost mail" BTAs for international trades is much higher than that for domestic, and on top of that, there's probably more domestic trading going on here than there is international (even though we do have a large # of international people here).

Anyway!

My LGS has started buying FNM prize packs. Seems a really easy way to go infinite here and I expect they wouldn't be doing it if they weren't getting at least some profit from it.

How do they work this out? If you win FNM and get some random number of packs they buy them back at $X per pack? If so, what rate do they buy them back at?

Yeah, and it's 2.25 per pack right now. I don't know how long they'll keep doing this, I'd honestly suggest they do it with store credit and not cash.

That's pretty much what I figured. I don't mind paying shipping when I'm buying cards, but I want it to be worth my time. I don't want to pay $2 to ship some $5 card. It negates the benefit of buying online to save a little.

That said, a pretty extensive buy list is needed to make a percentage approach viable.

Well it might be a decent idea to do when ravnica comes out. If there is any shortage in product like there has been for other popular sets, they might be able to keep a few more packs in stock. It seems like their buy back price is just slightly over what they pay to purchase a box whole sale, but its likely just cause they rounded up to an even number. Our store will hand out packs or let you trade them back at a rate of $3 / pack into store credit.

You guys aren't getting $4/pack in store credit instead of packs if you wanted to? Wow, that must suck.

Don't lump me in

Overseas shipping can be expensive, people would rather limit themselves then know when to be cautious.

imo would be stupid for the store to do it. They purchase packs at just under $2.25 and give them out valuing them at $4. If they give you $4 instead they give out close to double in value. Also, our store doesn't sell packs for $4 either.

My store gives $3/pack for credit. I windmill the credit almost every time.

Credit is better than cash for the store. I think that was my point, even if I didn't do a good job of making that clear. $2.25 in cash goes further than $3.00 in credit for the most part, and most of that cash goes away from the store rather than keeping it in the store. I guess they wouldn't do it if they didn't decide pretty clearly that it was good for them, but still.

I guess I'm just glad they're doing some form of cash/credit than just packs.

izzet charm looks like it might be my new favorite card.

edit: electromancer's flavor text reminds me of Tim Allen in Home Improvement.

New cards are all solid, most seem Constructed usable to, the decks have some really good value to them as well.

Think Charm and Mangler are the stand outs though for new cards.

So I came across with a stack of Inquest magazine when cleaning up for moving. Are these stack of Inquest worth anything or should I just pitch them away??

So I was in the finals of a draft the other night and the player I was up against offered a split if I concede to him. I say sure, I'm not after QP since I don't play enough to get qualified for anything important. So I concede and open a trade window but he refuses to give me the split as offered. Then I go to message him and it says I'm blocked. People are so lovely aren't they?

Even still I wouldn't mention it on here because it really is only a couple of bucks but the user was named Krondo9 and now I log on here to see a BTA against a person with the same name. So, whatever.

So any chance they ban show & tell? such an awful card to play against.

How do you play against it?
Is the only way to beat Sneak & Tell using counter/hand disruption?

What deck are you playing? Most of the Show and Tell/Sneak Attack targets are usually legendary so you could play Karakas, or Knight of the Reliquary to find Karakas. If you're not G/W then Ensnaring Bridge is pretty good as is Maze of Ith (though it won't stop the Annihilator trigger). Spell Pierce and other counterspells obviously if you're in blue. Targeted discard (Thoughtseize, Cabal Therapy) if you're in black and you could even try Edict effects like Diabolic Edict or Innocent Blood.

Its the version with Omniscience...it is just so frustrating. Once that thing hits the table its been game over...i guess getting rid of it first is the move...havent had a lot of luck.

EDIT*** Sorry, playing Junk-blade.
