Is it conceivable to build a Standard U/R aggro deck? Could it be done? Just curious...__________________ Motl member since November 1, 2000Your 2008 & 2010 Siskel & Ebert award winner! 32nd in refs on Motl! #1 Ref's for Arizona!

Right now, people are already going Mono-Red. With the awesome mana out there, don't see why you couldn't splash some blue.

You could, but what would you splash blue for? It seems like if you're going mono-R and then splashing blue, you're just unnecessarily slowing down the deck. Everyone that's tried to build some sort of U/R deck locally has basically turned it into something like "Delver + Guttersnipe + Talrand + Burn/Counterspells" and I don't think any of that's been working at all. Someone tried some cool Guttersnipe+Epic Experiment deck that apparently ended up being epic fail too. I'm actually really interested since I kinda wanted to build a U/R that DID work. I just haven't been able to think of anything yet.

Haha. That's kind of amazing, actually. I might try that.

This is awesome"Turn 1: I played Dryad Militant; he played Azorius Guildgate. Turn 2: I played second Plains, double Ethereal Armored my Dryad, and attacked for six; opponent played Mountain. Turn 3: I double Ethereal Armored again and attacked for eighteen." That is what Ari Lax did at the GP. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 2nd in posts in Canada 10th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

So, my auction is over now, and I think it did well. 54 rares for a foil Detention Sphere. SCG sells them for $20, so they're really worth 15 or so? 15/54= roughly $.28 a rare, and I'm not paying to ship them. How successful does this seem to you? I think I will auction more stuff in this manner. Not sure what, yet. I don't really have anything of value that's available.

Foil D-Spheres are like $11-12 on eBay. SCG is hugely overinflating everything RTR right now compared to eBay prices (which, in a way, is good for me right now locally, but when they drop their prices to what would be more reasonable, it's going to suck). So it's pretty successful for you if you wanted those cards (which you did), you got them at roughly .22/ea (.22*54=11.88). And also fairly successful for the person who won the auction. Shipping 50+ cards is going to be like.. $3-4, so they're probably getting around .165/ea for the bulk rares ($12 card minus $3 shipping = $9 card==54 rares at roughly .165 a piece).

Did I just totally hose myself?I sold a set of FOUR Clifftop Retreats like this, accidentally omitting the number in the title. So, am I obligated at this point to sell four for the price of one? I copied and pasted this same mistake four more times, too. Argh...

I think so. You have to honor the description of the item if you're a seller. Plenty of scumbags title their auctions "4x Survival of the Fittest" and even use stock photos of legit ones but then in the description briefly mention they're gold-border. Those scumbags sure aren't aiming to send a playset of Exodus ones. Plus it's hard to prove intention. The title and description don't match, but was the typo in the title or the description? In this case, it's obvious. But the cases are too varied for there to be hard, fast rules on what's obvious. Like drawing extra cards in MTG.

You could try messaging the buyers to see if they would work something out.

I did that. One guy is willing to take 4 instead of 8 (so one playset for $10 instead of two), one guy gave me a "well, that's too bad" and the others haven't responded at all.

You didn't set a reserve bid of something like what you'd want for a playset?

of course not, ebay charges for that. Prices tend to end at what cards are worth, otherwise someone bids just to get a deal which in turn pushes the card up to what its worth. It was obviously just an oversight that caused this problem. Best of luck in resolving it. I'm not sure I could take such a hit, I'd probably cross my fingers and take the negatives if they came. Basically you have to pay for your mistake, either in cash or feedback.

Get like four negs in a row and you'll end up losing more money in lower end prices than the money you'd lose just selling this stuff for less than its worth.

TBH I'd probably send something extra to the guy willing to work with you, and just 1x copy to the guy who said oh well....but that's just me.... __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

All the better to not sell local and not meet buyers in your own home. Craigslist buyers I meet outside my building in a public place.
