Precisely. If I had more than two of them, they would be in every single EDH deck I have built. As it is, the usually go to non-green decks that need the boost. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Putting Mana Crypt into a Commander product would a) **** off every single person who owns a Mana Crypt b) Add 50 dollars per deck to the price of the deck

and c) reduce the price of the card to ~10-20 if even that high, assuming it was a 1x in every deck. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

I finally drafted my cube last night. It went better than I feared. It looks like four color can be supported, and that for the most part you have to go three, which was my intent. We drafted 1v1 and got two drafts in. Both went to game three. We played a lot of morph dudes. I ended up with Ixidor in the second draft but didn't run him. I'll have to try to find my list sometime.__________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! (So am I)*CKGB

This one makes me chuckle.http://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/005464.html It reminds me of the south park episode with the Human-Centipad. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario and Canada 9th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

For a brief time when it was first released as a judge foil crypt went down a bit, then it looks like it's back up again. English Hua Tuo was 50+ before. The reprint is like $3. I spoz it would be slightly annoying to lose value, but it's better for the game.

They could also just take promo cards back off the "legal" list for Vintage and the price would drop back close to the original levels. Everybody should expect that wild fluctuations (in either direction) are possible at any time. edit - change 'legacy' to 'vintage'

Well... I've started losing games left and right to TNN. Guess it's time to adapt. Blargh. Not a particularly fun card to play against.__________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. EliotRIP Ari Legacy UGB River Rock primer. That would be my guess. I don't know why I get the urge to start buying cards for decks I build and then never have time to play. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

I'll take the $.25 option, Alex! Or Volcanic Fallout, Pyroclams, Pestilence, Earthquake, Sulfuric Vortex etc.

Mana Crypt is banned in Legacy. The other promos (I'm assuming you mean just the book ones) aren't remotely playable.

I know what you meant, but this typo is awesome and needs to be an actual card.

All those red spells don't work as your spells can't deal damage to it. Also Sulfuric Vortex seems out of place? Sulfurous Blast is probably what you meant. Actually Pestilence doesn't work on it either, unfortunately.

Sorry, I should have said vintage. The point is the card is currently legal in a tournament format and for a very long time it was never legal in anything.

But none of those red spells do anything to True-Name Nemesis... ??? Does merfolk use plains? There's always Massacre.

This is untrue. Mana Crypt has been legal in Vintage since it was printed. It was restricted in 1999, which lessened demand some. Maybe you're thinking of when Starter, Portal, Portal Second Age, and Portal: Three Kingdoms became legal in 2005.

BTA threads are the juiciest gossip I ever look at. This did not disappoint. My final question... How do people get so far in life, and still be so clueless?

It's certainly an option, although not the greatest. The challenge is finding which options best fit with my current deck/strategy slash don't detract from it too much.

Not in Legacy. Although if the point is to fight TNN rather than Merfolk specifically, Massacre is certainly a viable option (since TNN is likely to show up in UW or UGW shells, thanks to SFM).

If you don't mind sharing, what are you running? I'm sure there's a 3-of something you could sub or board in that will do the trick.

My mistake, I thought it was added at the same time as the Portal and Starter sets.
