I just noticed that the commander product this year is "commander 2013 edition" and the core set that came out months earlier is "magic 2014 core set"Wizards, it's time to get your years straight.

They sell M14 until 2014. It's a marketing decision.

I have some money hanging out in PayPal wanting to be spent, so I plan on buying a bunch of random older cards from my want list. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good site that sells older cards (Arabian Nights through like Odyssey or so) at a reasonable price with reasonable shipping? I want to maximize the value on some cards that are reasonably hard to find on MOTL due to obscurity and age.__________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Just bought my 4th underground sea for $134.99 shipped off amazon. I asked the seller (CCG unlimited) for a scan of the 'light play card' and they sent me a picture of an actual 'light play' sea (~nm-/ex+), so I bought it. Definitely the best deal for light play seas online by about $10 or so at least and they seem to be slowly rising. However, after looking at the comments for seas off TCGplayer, I have to wonder if the MTG players that buy expensive legacy staples (like me) are actually insane. Seriously, I just downloaded this iphone app where you can input your collection, then ask the app to price it against one of about 20 websites. My collection is has grown to over $6K in under 2 years after getting back in after selling out years ago. Do I have a problem?

Are you also a graduate student making $30K a year in a major city saving for a wedding in 6 months with no money in savings except what will barely cover taxes in April?

My 5Color foil EDH is probably worth around 3-4k, but my collection is worth only a grand or so. I sold off pretty much everything else I don't use for EDH, other than a few nostalgic foils and Unhinged foils. __________________ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻"The enemy has been destroyed, sir. It just makes you a little more paranoid in crowded stores. I always used to feel a little freaked out when I was playing a lot of vintage. Always counting my deck after matches and making sure my deck box was in hand when leaving the store. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Yeah my EDH with Duals is up around $1000. I get a little more "aware" of my surroundings.

Yup. That's why I never really bring anything with me to a store, when I play. It's much easier to keep track of just the deck I'm playing. What worries me more is having them stolen from home (or go up in flames). __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. I don't know how I'd even spend 6K on an EDH deck without pimping it. I don't think it's possible.

Build a practical deck that uses non-pimp cards and make the total 6K. I bet you can't. I stalled on 4K
