powered cubes are fun and all until mana drain into mind twist happens one too many times. I run mine unpowered and its a lot of fun to play and a lot of work to balance properly.

i found that removing black lotus and mind twist was healthy for my powered cube. you still get to play the shenanigans, but now you dont have nearly as many turn1/2 game enders.__________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."<crypticfreak1> jazaray got ahold of me. he also had a hard time finding the email. <Jazaray> She...

and sol ring? mana crypt? tinker? I'd say the most powerful card in my cube right now is entomb. I don't have any uncastable bomb reanimate targets in the cube, but a titan or wurmcoil usually gets the job done if too fast. I'm certainly on the fence with entomb. Its hard to always have fun and interactive games w/ cards that are that powerful. My cube certainly touches on some legacy era and powerful cards, but my intention is always to make the games interactive. MY current cube, but its going through some updates from the recent sets: http://www.cubetutor.com/viewcube/42697 white was far too cute and bad, so its getting a reasonable do over. I need to find something other than white weenie and control elements. I guess the weenie strat along w/ geddon/cataclysm makes it a more interesting deck.

Well My cube is strictly 93/94. SO I don't have to worry about unbalanced cards like tinker.

Rawr Bartel Runeaxe SMASH? You do have to worry about the slightly less imba prototinker in Antiquities. But then again there's not really anything for you to tinker out anyway.

No bartel. But I'm still working on the list. Still needs about 40 cards.

I cannot believe how awful some judges are at explaining rules. Is there a re-certification or check-up judges go through?__________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. Well, looks like Wizards just killed the Pro Tour. Or at least made it much less appealing to play. Must be bracing for having to do backpay for judges.__________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

I overheard some level 2 judges talking about this whole litigation issue with Wizards over backpay. Since when do judges below 3 get paid actual monies?Does anyone have more details about this? __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. For those who don't follow everything.A group of judges started a class action lawsuit against WotC. Alledging that since they control the conditions of and certifications for judging that they are a defacto employer. WotC also made announcements today that the appearance fees for platinum pros and hall of famers are getting slashed. Payout for world championship and/or world magic cup is going up, but not by as much as they are saving. I imagine that most local judges are paid with product, but anybody working a GP or SCG open event is likely paid cash.

I was mainly referencing the changes to compensation for Platinum pros and the Hall of Famer appearances. They made huge cuts to what high level pros make just for showing up and participating in what are essentially major advertising events for the game. Going from $3,000 to $250 per PT appearance has to be the end for some pros who just can't afford the gamble of finishing in the money enough to justify the cost of travel and prep. As usual, Wizards timing on the announcement was just horrible as well. During the top 8 of a PT? Really? "Let's just talk about these amazing players and all of the hard work that goes in to making T8 of a PT. Oh, by the way, we're going to gut your compensation for participating in our quarterly advertising blitz. Let's play some games!" I personally have no real interest in playing on the PT, but I love watching it when it's on. There's just something special about the PT. If some of the better players can no longer justify the cost of playing, that just makes me sad. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

And they reverse yet another terrible decision. Just wait and change it for next season WotC.It takes time to recover from foot in mouth disease. Take some time and heal. Don't announce anything at the next PT.

I think theres a bug on MODO. Everyone who goes against me in SOI has Avacyn Angel. I've done two leagues (10 matches) and faced 6 Avacyns (2 foil). I was laughing so hard the last round, guy held up 3WW, I was like impossible and sure enough avacyn!
